The teacher went for support & there was a reason that the student confided in the teacher. I personally don’t care about how old she was or what her reason was, as long as she was fairly educated on her options & willingly on her own wanted to go that route, & it sounds like she was. Considering that the teacher was just there as support & didn’t have to pay for the procedure, care for the patient, administer medication etc.. leads me to believe the student was likely a legal adult. Did she cross a blurred line professionally…yes. But I’m glad the student had the support of someone that she felt safe with get her through a life changing experience. Unpaid Suspension was the only discipline that I feel she maybe should’ve gotten.
I’m more curious to know the details of how & by who did the baby come about 🤔

She needs to be a case worker than a teacher
This student is 18. Also, after 14, you can not discuss sexual health with the parents unless the child consents. Yes, the teacher needs to be handled accordingly bcz that is still a boundary issue. I work in Healthcare, most 18y/o put their parents down contact info, but I can not legally speak w a parent until they consent if they are verbal. She probably went to the teacher for help.
I think sometimes people need to understand that these kids are sometimes closer to their teachers than they are their own parents. They spend more time with their teachers than they do their working parents, their unsupportive parents, their parents that don’t give any attention - so they trust their teachers more. Idk it terrible all the way around 😢
@@Yanneek_ I think alot of ppl understand that. But overstepping the parents and law is not thee answer. There needs to be more of a process to confront the parents and document any potential negligence and abuse and protect the child and provide the help they may need and thee measures that already exists clearly need to be gone over with educators mor.. cuz while Alot of teachers have great intentions, thee overstepping of boundaries can make it generally more risky for children/students to be taken advantage of by Other teachers and staff who don't have good Intents and Juss looking to take advantage..
Did the child have an abusive parent?
I am a teacher and sometimes you really want to be empathetic BUT there are procedures to provide the best help for the child and protect yourself like contacting guidance counselors, school admin and/or DCF. We love our students but have to be mindful of boundaries. Don't think she should lose her job but she should be re-trained
She does not need to teach again because instead of her taking it upon herself to get this.Young lady, an abortion.She should have figured out what is going on and reported it to the authorities.

The teacher should have notified authorities still a high school student even if 18 especially since they are at a special needs student

What if they had harmed the child physically mistakes happen in medical procedures all the time. And WHY not refer the student to a counselor or give her some contacts but advise speaking to the family...UNLESS S CASE OF SA...NOT OK,what is going on with these teachers/educators
We don’t know the situation. From what I heard , it doesn’t sound like she did something wrong. Who knows how this young lady got pregnant and what her home life was like? We don’t know the degree or any details of her disability. All of y’all talkin about “ she should get arrested” are the SAME folks who’d complain about a disabled teenage mom on welfare unable to provide care for her child!
She needs to be charged because if a medical professional can be charged for saving you by performing a medical necessity abortion she needs to be charged
