This is probably the first time I've heard this song in about 14 years. When I was younger, my dad would sing this to my dog Alf...and I always thought Randy Travis wrote this song for my doggy. Rest In Piece Alf, you were always my favorite cuddle buddy
Back in my days as a trucker, many nights I ran a load of case milk to a milk distribution center. The Boss had 4 brand new Pete's and I always chose one mainly because the driver who ran it days, loved country music as much as I. This song along with many other of Randy's top hits, was usually the first one I popped into the cassette player and would leave it in until I returned to either the creamery I left from or the garage, whichever I was ordered to do. I still love the old traditional country music and thank God for You Tube, I still can watch and/or hear them. Thanks for posting! God Bless, Jeff :-)
Randy Travis is a living legend. He's just human, nothing more, nothing less. In fact, his mistakes makes him more real than all the wanna-be today's country clowns. This dude has more talent than every single singer that came up from 1998 to 2014 one million times over. Randy Travis, cheers!
Simon Peters grew up on it, out back Moree and the mob and guess what the country life style is awesome even though I grew up in the city Westies Liverpool, love going home sweet home, but lovely to be at home
I have attended two of Randy's concerts..Each time he has opened with this song...What a great song. It was a great thrill to see him, seems like a very humble guy...Thanks Randy for being you...
I love Randy Travis period. He can be singing or just standing. He is a hell of a man. He's also generous he didn't have to share his talent and now he can't sing but I am sure he is here for some reason. Love You Randy.
Lot of truth there. I pray daily for Randy Travis. There's no telling what kind of loss or trouble he suffered to drive him to that point. And the Paparazi don't give the poor man any peace of mind. I'm grateful for all the great songs and all the long dark nights listening to him on the radio at work. After all, Randy Travis is first of all, a human being. I just wish the press can see this and give the man his dignity. That's basic to all of us. Mike in Fresno, Ca.
I saw him at the Nashville Palace. As Randy Ray. Went to eat and closed the place down. Three or four years later I hear him on the radio and guess who!
Ein sehr schöner Country-Song - und die satte Baritonstimme von Randy Travis tut ihr übriges dazu! Ein toller Song, der beweist, daß Classic Country noch lange nicht tot ist!
I wouldn't have heard nor known who Randy Travis was if not for my good friend Sampath(Sampi)from SL Air Force pilot. Diggin up Bones was one song we always use to sing whenever we use to meet up and have a drink at Krus's.
One of the few country singers that I really do like, and one that I think is really going to be remembered over the long run. The words of his songs are as fresh today as they ever were. He has some of the best written songs in country music.
Randy Travis, please don't stop writing songs, or singing them! I love you Randy :D I am fifteen and I started listenin to you around the age of 4, I've loved you since then and I don't plan on stoppin! You never get old Randy (:
One of the best concerts I ever attended was in Kansas City Missouri. We were sitting on the side of a hill in an open air concert and this man was awesome. What a great voice and entertainer. This was in 1989 and I still love to here him sing.
i remember goin to his concert one of the few in Albany ga.. he shook my hand and i will never ever forget.... Why cant they play music like this anymore.,.. this stuff they call music today has no SOUL or Feelin to it... lets bring back the good oldies.....
Randy Travis and John Anderson were the first two i had ever seen in concert, at the fair when i was younger. Randy Travis had one of the best country voices ever.
If it were up to me he'd get the entertainer of the year from the CMA every year..not just a great singer/artist but a great performer and is the heart of country music

Country was country when Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, George Strait etc, were around. This is want to be country as far as I'm concerned!
