she is unpretentious and totally wonderful just as she is! she is a pretty freaking incredible guitar player. I really admire and respect her so much. i'm not sure which "single" she's referring to that could be qualified as "dumbed down." she referring to something off University?
This interview is super conflicting----I think in a good way, though I feel very intense hearing Kristin talk. We're so different and yet all the same things matter so much but really different perspective. I'm flipping my eyes back and forth thinking about the soldiers, like i do every day.
@@sheepkillindog Yeah, that's strict diet and regular exercise or yoga. My 52yr old wife looks much the same and that's her "secret". Vegan and regular exercise.
i'm curious if once she got past the dissociative disorder she had to learn her own songs in order to perform them or if they were all sort of in her and waiting for her to claim them.
i remember a sort of interview/introduction for the Hunkpapa album that was on MTV where she said something about how their first couple of records were full of tempo changes and counter-melody but there were people that didn't like that sort of thing and they didn't resent them for it so this one was for them. then she said this particular song was 'just a craft song. completely devoid of inspiration.'
I feel at a painful loss to understand or digest this cognitively dissonant interview, from either Kristin's or Reed's perspective. Is she saying all she ever wanted/needed was a member of her audience to pluck her from the stage and into therapy, thereby stopping her making her music? She makes brief reference to the 'overlap' between creativity and dispossession, but for her, very clearly and publicly, there was a perfect alignment between her 'disorder' and creativity. The interview itself seems where the real dissociation is. Am mystified!
the dude is a confusing mess, throwing lingo around hoping he'll get a bite from the "patient" -- he actually is posturing as an expert on the subject of mental health as it pertains to creativity
@@rosemma34 Well... I've seen a few interviews with Kristin and she's quite odd, but in the best way possible. Brilliant and talented woman, but a few degrees to either side of "normal" if there is such a thing. Aside from her psychological issues that is.
Throwing Muses is one of very few acts who consistently sound better live than in the studio. Respect.
