I started off as a biology major in undergrad and then I switched to sociology in my third year of college too! I’m also class of 2019, and I’m Vietnamese, so I love seeing Vietnamese people in sociology because I feel like it’s so rare lol
it rly is!! i honestly didn’t even think/know it was an option for me when i went into undergrad. so many start off with bio bc they feel like it’s the right thing to do but I know so so so many people who’ve changed their majors and that’s okay!!
What is the appeal to sociology?

thank you so much for sharing your story! just like you back then, I don't know what I want to pursue. i'm currently a 1st year psych student and I have decided to dropout after I finish my 1st semester. not only we got to know more about you but you motivated me too and reminded me of one of my beliefs which is "if it doesn't work out, it's not for you"

Wow.. your beginning of hs and college experience was exactly mine.. i was a biology major and i immediately changed it to psychology after the first semester and then changed it again to English after continuing to struggle mentally and being depressed during that period.. thank you for telling us your journey!! Am currently a psych and english double major in my 5th year of college and about to graduate this fall!! 💗

i am a biology major who wanted to shift to a soft science course but i never had the guts to do it. i ended up finishing my biology degree but i couldnt help but think what my life would be if i did decide to shift. so happy to hear such stories like yours. i love u so much celine - from PH

I have gotten to love teaching more. At first, I was super anxious and it rly gave me bad feelings towards teaching but once I got used to it, it actually becomes fun!
it doesn't matter your major! you can pursue any graduate program with the right prereqs! so good luck with whatever you decide. everything will work out.

I agree that you love avocado smoothie!! I love it too! Try to do slice some avocado and put it in a bowl, add some milk with sugar and also add ice on it. It is so good we do this in the Philippines.

I was also a biology major for my first 2 years of undergrad and I was miserable!!! I transferred schools and switched my major to environmental science my junior year and now I’m loving it :,) I’m gonna graduate late but at least I’m not crying myself to sleep doing ochem homework haha

-Will you re-open your sticker shop again? Because your studio vlog is one of video that got me into your channel. I enjoyed it so much and how you wrap it so beautifully with that wax seal, etc. I found it therapeutic too.
-which other south east asian country that you want to travel? Ever thought to go to Indonesia? Bali was famous for people who love Beach. Eventhough i live in the capital city 😂😂😂 but i would recommend Bali for vacation. But if you ever go to Jakarta, i will really happy if i have a chance to meet you. We pretty much in the same age anyway. And it looks so much fun being a friend with you.😊

I was curious to know if you @jellybeanceline skipped getting a master's entirely after taking the two grad classes, and went straight into the Ph.D program? I am currently getting my master's, and if I can just go straight into my Ph.D program, that would be a dream come true lol.
I did not get a master’s! it depends on the program but a lot of them allow you to get a master’s while getting a PhD! usually there are two diff tracks depending on if u came in with a masters or not! it was like half and half for my cohort!

People always think I'm younger than I am too! Do your students ever ask your age, or like comment on how young you look? How do you navigate that? I'm going to be a first time professor and I'm 30 but look about 17 lol
luckily i’m just co teaching so i have an older male professor with me! but i’ve gotten asked if i was a senior in undergrad. I just tell them i’m a PhD student. I’ve been lucky and students have not tried walking all over me!

Hello! Not Celine but I’m a PhD candidate and a professor I would say that failing is OK many won’t tell you that but I would say take a breath and take time to yourself to understand how it happened and if there’s anything you can do. You can always retake the course to replace the grade. You can still get into a great doctoral program!

I'm having good image about Vietnamese moms. In terms of politeness treating teacher I twice recieved box of apples wrapped golden fabric on teachers' days. Moreover treatment of own kid very right such as child's clothes that are providing, not only 3meals but also fruits and snacks. (=MY THOUGHTS which should be basically given as essential duties)
