I love the colour and leather of this Birkin. I have a B35 in Togo (colour Trench), that I never use because of its size, but you’re right, could definitely be used for travel

that is a stunning bag. i love it the hardware is wonderful. i agree one is enough. i had 2 but some one because I just didn’t see using them both. that might change so for the moment I have 1 Birkin and 1 Kelly. actually the kelly color is close to yours with silver hardware

I am 5'9" and I have been searching for a Birkin 35. I don't understand why people prefer smaller bags, but I am 5'9" and I live a very casual life. I also carry a lot which is a terrible thing to confess in fashionable circles. I heard a woman claim that she liked her Birkin 25 because she could wear it to dinner but if I were really going out I would prefer a non-leather bag anyway. But then again we don't "dine" out that often and if I am going out it is a bigger deal than I could tell it would be for her. Thank you for the video. That is a gorgeous bag. The box leather is so pretty especially in that deeper blue with the palladium hardware. That is a great tip about the hardware. Thank you!
i'm with you 100% and i'm 5'5. 35 and even 40 are the ideal sizes to me. I don't get the whole "small bags for short women" thing. bags aren't meant to fit your body, they're meant to fit your belongings! and the birkin isn't even a super formal 'dining out' bag imo, it was meant to be an every day mom bag...for example I love how carolyn besette used hers. i downright dislike the b25, it doesn't make any sense with the boxy utilitarian shape! IMO the small birkin craze is totally driven by influencers and won't age well
@@ablesister I don't own a birkin yet but I am looking on the pre-owned market. I agree with you on the small bag craze as well. :)) Whenever a trend gets absurd it is usually about to reverse. Like remember the absurdly tall platforms and stilettos that were popular about 10 years ago or so. They got so high they could only do one thing- come down and they did. The bags have done the same thing getting smaller and smaller until they are literally necklace size. I agree about the birkin25 not making sense. Small bags should be slender and feminine like a clutch. The Chanel mini hobo is the cutest thing I have ever seen in pink velvet though. The Chloe Nile Bracelet bag in the half moon also makes me swoon. But mostly I love big bags I cannot lie and I really am glad the influencers keep the prices down for me. A Birkin 40 is a lot more affordable on the secondary market than a Birkin 25 which cost the price of a small car. And the Chanel Maxi double flap is the only double flap that holds more than all the redundant leather contained within and they are so affordable compared to a mini cf or medium. I have two jumbo cf but they hold absolutely nothing. I want a maxi so much. I am sure you totally rock your birkin40. I don't have a Birkin yet but I am looking for a 35 and next I will go for a 40 for travel. I am going to look for one that is beat up like the one the Olsen twin carried so I can let it get bruised and not worry. Carolyn Bassett was so fashionable she could wear those clothes now some 30 years later and still be stylish except her bag would need to shrink to the size of a wallet. I love she carried a lot like me and evidentially you as well. :))
@@pippadawg7037 i ordered a pre owned 35 (from 2015) - my first and probably only Birkin!! super excited and broke now haha but i bought it for just under current retail price of the same specs. marked up considering its age but i'd consider 0 prespend a significant "saving" too. definitely grateful that the trends are in our favor as far as the resale market. i was tempted to go with a 40 bc there are some really really great deals, but 35 I think is just perfect and lighter. and good luck on your search! jane birkin, olsen twins, kate moss, carolyn besette, etc. definitely my celeb inspirations as far as actually using their bags

I think birkin 30 and 35 are essential in my wardrobe. I understand the fascination with small/ mini bags, but the 25s are just priced ridiculously in resell market. Do ppl understand fashion comes in trends, one day min bags will not be popular anymore.

LOVE the color but wish it weighed less.
I bought a replica of a Chanel brooch for $20 to compare materials etc. The real brooch cost $800 and was made of the exact same materials - brass, synthetic pearls, glass. 🤦🏻♀ The other one is a $40 one *yutulu* Backpack Replica - also works for Compare - I can't find any difference and still use it for the gym 😅
