    I bought a Lista tool box after investigating all heavy tool box nothing coms close to there strength 460lb carrying capacity for each & every drawer & 100% accessibility for the space
    I worked in a University which had some for over 35 years with daily use the only difference with the newer ones were the drawer extrusion, absolutely amazing. Joe

    Similar issues with mine, just not the quality I expected from the brand.

    That's unacceptable, I bought a used Epiq 68" at 1/3 the price of a new one. I'm happy with it.

    Love the color and trim. I’m so afraid to pull the trigger on this box and color combo. Best of luck to you with your new purchase and hopefully things work out for you. You must be the fourth or fifth person that’s had issues with a brand new Epiq. I wonder if the Master Series is just as bad.

    • @Stingertech
      @Stingertech  Před 4 lety

      The colour combination does go well together. The box is being refunded, yet no apology from Snap-on for the mess around. I am going to go for a trip to America and pick one for myself to ship back. I'll check out what the dealers have while I'm there and ship it back myself.
      I can't say as I've seen many epics here with my own eyes so I cannot comment.
      All's I know it my own experience with Snap-on was a nightmare and their customer service is terrible. They are all about taking the money....
      My dealer has been great. I can't say anything bad about him, but Snap-on Corporate Australia have been a huge headache to deal with.

    About to buy one of these to replace two roll carts (royal blue with black trim) I get where your coming from when you buy something so expensive especially with the mark up when they send them over seas. It would be like buying a new car that’s already keyed. I’d be asking for a a substantial refund or a new box. And I do autobody not mechanical. The paint is hit or miss a lot with temperature and how it was sprayed or powder coated. The only way for them to get a comepletey glass finish it would have to be buffed. Even high end cars have a slight (very slight) orange peel. Sry you had to be let down hopefully everything worked out for you.

    It almost looks like its a box that has been on a snapon truck full of tools that the guy was selling out of rather than new ! ..shame that. Hope you get sorted , I bought a small master series top and bottom box in lime green with gloss black trim , I then carbon wrapped the draw tops after I dropped my gun on the big draw and chipped the paint.

      I wish that was the case because that would then be explainable. However it was delivered to my workshop in its packaging and I watched as it was being unpacked and assembled.

    My KRL in the UK was just as bad. First box 1033 arrived with drawers lopsided. Replacement 1023 arrived not welded together correctly. Paint defects on both. My replacement in storm grey is full of runs and paint defects.

  • @CountryMileGarage
    @CountryMileGarage Před 3 lety +1

    The orange peel is because to power coat was cured to hot and the gasses trying to escape create the "bubbles" or orange peel look. Half painted drawers what a joke. I love my Matco boxes

    • @yFf22a
      @yFf22a Před 3 lety

      Right, because Matco boxes are "better". Yawn. Snap-On tool storage is so much better made, that is why they have so many more square inches of usable space than any other unit made. Does your Matco use Standing seam? No. Why would you want Standing Seam? Because welds are not designed for shear strength. Your top is installed on the Matco like a cookie sheet welded to four vertical panels, vertical to vertical. The Snap On unit has a 180 degree bend, then a 90 degree bend that the reinforced top is then welded to, so only downward force is applied. Does your Matco have corner gussets, because those prevent racking forces - the main reason why your Matco has to have T- bars (taking up space) to try to strengthen the box. Can you put 454 pounds of tools in your main drawer and still have the drawer open with one finger? Does your MAtoc need gumdrops for the drawers to glide on, or can the drawer guides handle all of the weight? Face it, you bought a third-rate tool box and are using price as your defence.
      As to the other naysayers: Paint can be an issue with any manufactured product - even cars. Those drawers incorrectly painted will be warrantied. As far as lack of coverage, a robotic paint arm paints the boxes and can't get deep into corners. If you see a brown colour, it is not rust - it is the yellow dichromate coating that is there to prevent rust and help the high quality Ditzler paint to adhere.
      What is the trade-in value of a MAC or Matco vs Snap-On??

    • @Stingertech

      Snap-on Australia spat their dummy, refunded the box, forced the franchisee to take ownership of the box and sell it to someone else as a "brand new box" dispite me using it for a month.
      They agreed to cancel my order of the 84" Epiq that was on its way from the US as they had told me this paint quality was normal and that it's likely the 84" would turn up with the same finish.
      I have since purchased 2 60" Epiqs privately, both of them had a better finish than my "brand new box" and I haven't purchased any other tools from Snap-on Australia since.
      I will likely visit America to find a hutch, top box and 2 end lockers, import them myself and then have them all sand blasted and repainted in a fully custom colour.
      A very bitter sweet outcome.
      Very dissapointing from Snap-on Australia.
      It was put into their too hard basket.

      Eventually got a refund for it after getting Snap-on corporate involved, they then sold it on as a 2nd hand toolbox.

    It's going to get scratched up anyway with use. I'd just ask for them to repair/repaint it or for a partial refund or some free tools to compensate. I wouldn't send it back over some scratches.
