  • The key to jigging up those Lake Erie perch today was the size of the lure, the technique, and the color. Somedays, depending on conditions, small things can make a big difference. We will show you in the episode, so we hope you enjoy it :)

I ran into some nice jumbo perch myself today on the spoon! Didn't even figure that would work before seeing some of your older videos catching them on the stingnose, so thank you! I've also come up with my own tip similar to your eye trick, I keep the two bright red fins the perch have at the top along with a little bit of meat that they're attached to and put it on my spoons. Really gets the attention of predatory fish like lake trout, walleye, and esox.

Sounds like you need to learn how to vent your deep water catches, just like the saltwater reef fishermen do. Pretty simple, use a hypodermic needle to vent the bladder through the side. Lots of videos, look up “venting deep water fish”, let those babies grow up. Nice video btw.👍

Right? Everytime the near shore says 1ft or less, Lake Erie: 3ft swells lol

....the leader line is typically the line attached to your braid - so the braided line is the main line on your spool, and then you attach a mono or fluorocarbon line as your leader line, so that fish do not see your braid - here is a video that will help explain more czcams.com/video/QsuFwO002zI/video.htmlsi=YaAPhdxUDgzP23vslain

They seem to have no trouble getting great hauls of quality fish even without a specialized rod!

At one point you were an amateur. Remember that. Fishing is for everyone, no matter the skill level or technique.

I mean if they’re fishing out in the Great Lakes, it’s probably a good idea to have a rod that can handle the very likely chance of you hooking into something much bigger and stronger than a perch. Maybe don’t jump to conclusions without thinking of various factors that go into fishing, especially in the Great Lakes, and especially while using a jigging spoon which can catch literally anything in those waters. You look like an amateur yourself honestly with your comment 🤷🏻‍♂️
