I like to support the use of robotics/AI in surgery and altering genetic dispositions to eg cancer using the genome research of $Crispr and $sava to help give us longer, healthier lives. Nano technology pretty interesting too. We do only get one life, after all so there is nothing more important than that, is there? But more fun and less chores with robotics sounds great too. Recently met a lady cancer patient whose kidney was dissected by "Elvis" the robot, remotely, here in Glasgow so it is happening now!

Yes, he supports Nikki Haley, a Neocon. Might be as bad as Hilary Clinton. Bitcoin's objective should be to bring down the state, not become partners. Paying taxes with bitcoin? Oh, my. The whole purpose of bitcoin is to allow technology to work around government friction and not partner with the most corrupt systems on earth. The purpose of decentralization is to work around the state, not cojoin with the state.

‘What’s her take on Bitcoin and digital currencies?’ Draper had no answer for you. You nailed him with that one question. He became vague and evasive and couldn’t answer your question. That means he knows she’s a dollar maximalist, and like the others, she will do her best to kill BTC because she thinks it threatens the dollar.

First off, good questions David, and thanks for always listening and letting people speak (even too much). Tim Draper is right about a few things, and principally BTC of course, but he is very naïve about the way a lot of the things in the world work. For example, people aren't fighting BTC against because they don't understand it - Mr. Draper, you aren't a power broker or decider/controller of things, and you aren't interested in the power games, that's why. But other people are and because you don't understand why they are doesn't mean they don't have their agendas, and trust me, these are big, big agendas. This gets to my biggest criticism of all, which is that one must understand what the power plays and objectives are, not platitudes about what is "good for humanity" as if those people care at all about something like that. It is for this reason his mentioning of Mr. Putin is out of place and even nonsensical (Russia isn't communist and just came out of a horrible regime 30 years ago of real communism). Does Tim think the US isn't effectively communist in its swamp at this point? Ha! They're just more intent on fooling and distracting, and allowing you to have some wealth or riches - for now. Even China, which is ACTUALLY communist, betrays Draper's ideas and focus on single people which is off base (Putin and Xi) in that China has raised its people's standard of living immensely over the last 30 years. Can the US say the same? Of course not, which proves my previous point - the only people doing really well in the US are old people or the upper 5-10%. It would take another post, but his AI in medicine stuff is laughable, and that's being nice. Lucky for him, he's right on a few things and if he's wrong, he's so wealthy already it doesn't matter at all. It reminds me of Buffett to be honest. By the time I got to Nikki Haley, omg, I guess it explained everything. "Strong leader"? This is just boomer embarrassing. Let me put it this way, you're going to war, and you have choose between Vladimir Putin being your leader and Nikki Haley? I actually laughed out loud when he actually said "it's time for a woman" ... face palm.
I think he's well aware of the political powers and the bankers influences. He simply choose to believe US gov would do the right thing rather than trying to dictate and control people like Xi and Putin. But, I think the ironic thing is that Xi and Putin might not be as bad he thought. In many ways, China could lead the US in crypto adoption. As an example, we can see what Hong Kong is doing embracing crypto exchange, spot ETF. I think people misunderstand because there is a difference in culture. Surveillance is frowned upon in the west, but to the Chinese, they actually don't care and they prefer a degree of surveillance to keep crime rate low. That's why the difference in our races. The Chinese are conformist. I always thought we should not force our ideals onto other people because we are different. And, it's entirely ok to be different.

I think however I totally disagree with him on the political side of things, I agree decentralised governance is the future but I don't think he's on the right side of history being 'pro western war' - there's wars BEXAUSE the US empire is imploding, that's not good or bad, its just history. If anything Xi and Putin are pushing for the multipolar/ decentralised governance model.
Anyway he's still a great investor and I'm sure he's got an agenda to be so Biden/ US policy

Interesting guest. I'm surprised by some of his characterizations of the 2010's as a golden age in which everyone had a smart phone, we almost eliminated poverty and then the pandemic came and governments shifted? Or how great the internet is? I could liken it to modern medicine where all the great achievements are in the context of a huge money making machine and we have a very unhealthy population. If look at all the achievements of the internet it is certainly impressive but it is also generally a shitty place to be (special offer, do you remember me, update your account information) dominated by corporations where interesting individuals can perhaps find there place (the David Lin show) or whatever cool content or communities exist, but I always feel bombarded by crap when I am on the internet. Also how online culture interfaces and shapes our society, discourse and politics is important and evolving. Take it from the man.

Mr. Draper the people of Russia don't have a problem with the people of Ukraine and on that I agree with you 100% but the thing you didn't mention and that the vast majority of the world don't understand is that Ukranians DO have A LOT of problems with people from Russia because they have been taught to hate them throughout history. 20 years ago Russia couldn't care less about Ukraine, even 10 years ago, it just so happns that the U.S. convinced the Ukrainian people that all their problems were because of Communist Russia, which ended 20 years before! and so they did with 80% of Eastern Europe. If you ever travel Eastern Europe you will see their culture hates the Communist era and they think that it is Russia´s when in fact it was each country's fault and their elite fascists politicians that benefited from Communism.
