I would suggest using barrier repair with retinol. Retinols tend to dry the face in the initial days. So you need a moisturiser that is thick and contains ceramides.

Ingredients quality matters.. The quantity of “ceramides, peptides” matters. The R&D and the science behind the product matters. See dot&key moisturiser contains coconut oil which is comedogenic but no such comedogenic ingredients is present in the FormulaRx. Even though dot&key moisturiser talks about the ceramides, it is so low on the ingredients list.
