- This video will show you how to use the Squarp Instruments Sequencer in Euclid step mode. It will teach you not only about the Pyramid sequencer but also demonstrate how the euclidean algorithm works. I also introduce some famous Euclidean patterns that are used around the world in music.

finally something deep and intersting about rhythm
Glad you thought so and thanks for taking the time to say it too.
That's a wonderful feature & thanks for making this video.
This is very interesting tutorial. Thank you for sharing this video. As i can see you are very deep in understanding the Pyramid. Great for those of us how are at the very beginning.
Thanks for the vid - it helps clarify the euclid mode.
Appreciate it, please make more!
Glad it helped and thanks for passing by and commenting
Thanks, very helpful indeed!
I can listen this video really good in my right ear.
Very very interesting and informative. Just got the Pyramid. This is a very useful video for me. Thanks!
Your welcome Andre, I hope you like your new Pyramid, its a great device and improves at each firmware addition. Thx for reaching out to say hi.
what a great video ! cheers :)
glad you thought so thanks for replying.
Excellent video
Great video !
An easy tip to avoid « pop » , is to not speak directly towards the microphone, and add an high pass filter around 140hz is also helpfull
This is the best Euclidean tutorial I've seen and especially because I just got the pyramid myself. 2 questions: 1) is there a resource for all the styles/necklaces of patterns you showed at the end? 2) Can you use Euclidean mode on different notes within the same track - in your demo I noticed you used 2 tracks for 2 percussion sounds - can you get the same outcome using 1 track? Thanks!
It would be great if you could programme a melody in euclidian mode. At least a certain note every 16 bars.
Can the euclidean step mode play different notes withing a sequence?
No not in one track sequence but you can have more tracks set with different notes just not on the same steps of a track.
@@ForSynthsSake but you can send it to an arpeggiator in Pyramid's MIDI FX and have it alternate notes that way... not the best but hey
I'll echo my frustration with the Squarp tutorials - I appreciate their effort, but the heavy accent and feature a second pace make them hard to digest.
Your videos are great. I've had my Pyramid for nearly a year, and I've picked up a couple things from your videos, like using the Euclid mode to arrange the time signature for polyrhythms. I was doing it the hard way in Track mode.
I just paid for a Cirklon, but I still plan on using my Pyramid, as it excels at generating patterns quickly.
The guys at Squarp are really great but its a small company and I think they spend their time making the product better. I am glad you found the videos useful. Encouragement makes the process worthwhile and believe me some do troll. The cirklon is a great sequencer too I dont have it I went for the Octatrack. sadly there is no one gadget that does it all but I do love the Squarp approach, its small and light weight. You just need time with it and as you say you can connect up very fast and get ideas out of it. I got the TB03 a couple of days ago and hooked it up to the pyramid. Thanks for the kind comment let me know how you get on with the cirklon.
Thank you for that demo
I have abandonned my pyramid due to lack of english real tutorials.
Now I have found your channel I have renewed interest especially this euclidian mode.
I would appreciate more tutorials on all aspects of this device as I found the manual hard going and the squarp vids confused.
Please could you cover as much of the pyramid as possible as I am most interested.
thanks v much

Thanks , Peter, I have lots of midi gear that I have recently bought and with the pyramid I was a bit disappointed at first, especially the euclid mode which kept saying unavailable in this mode and the tutorials from squarp i found were somewhat ''lost in translation'', However, your channel has come to the rescue.
I am interested in unconvention methods of composition stuff like terry riley and mr Reich.
Any further help would be great. polyrythms , unusual time signatures , anything that flaunts the rules.
Only thing is I cant remember which drawer I shoved the thing in when I last used it.
Hope to see lots from you , thanks for getting in touch.
John
Thanks for the reply , I am a Hobbyist also but I have an eclectic taste in music I try to compose as opposed to listening pleasure, ( not always one and the same!!) .
I will get back to you with a few hints at what I am interested in later, I am going out shortly but will get back to u
Thanks again
John
