i think its a good matchup for byakuya bcuz its a throwback to the first arc where he was willing to execute rukia becuz it was his orders. even if tsukishima made him think he was an old friend, if byakuya had orders to kill him, he would do so
kinda sad that these fullbringers actually thought they were strong, only Tsukshima and Ginjo were actually Captain Level fighters, the others were fodder before being injected with Ichigo Powers and even after that they barely reach 3rd Seat man even Vice Captains like Renji could 1 shot them.

Respect to Ichigo and his return to power. That and to deal with the mess from the previous substitute soul reaper who also had a soul reaper from soul society vanish with him for a partner. Granted the captains were more than likely not at full power thanks to the safety measure talked about in a prior arc. Basically lieutenants and captains are to strong in the human world so to prevent them from drastically affecting the world while visiting they have an extra limiter placed on them. When permission is granted by soul society they can have this limiter lifted to deal with emergency or extreme threats that can’t be dealt with normally. For example normal hollow extermination would not require a full powered lieutenant or captain so getting permission to lift the limiter would not be granted and probably piss off the political leaders or noble houses of soul society for making such a request for something so commonly dealt with. That many captains and lieutenants showing up in living world doesn’t go unnoticed and would more than likely be placed with limiters. Plus the government officials of soul society already fear Kenpachi going out of control or getting any stronger. They had a tantrum the moment they learned the head captain had him learn another sword style and put a stop to the training. These fullbringers only had power to be a nuisance after using power stolen from Ichigo.
Seems like whenever soul society sends kenpachi on a mission, they had to bring at least two captain class shinigami to make sure he stays on point during the missions. Poor Byakuya. Seems like he’s always the chosen one to be a kenpachi babysitter
