In Colorado on SSDI and I inherited a tiny sliver of 12 or 13 oil wells and one-fifth of a farm in Texas and struggling to stay above the poverty line. I'm in pain all of the time, but I praise God for the blessings in my life that enable me to help a few others and do a few things that I enjoy. Thank you, Jesus 🙏❤
Well, used to think I was middle class but since got sick & forced by illness to quit, I live on SSI & no where near to lower part of number for Florida! Thanking God my house is paid off! ❤
My understanding is that there's no longer a middle class. That distance between the middle class and poor is almost none. Existing, where the difference between the middle class pool and the elite has risen almost 100%. So they're doing exactly what they want. we're getting poorer while they're getting richer.

Under $25k is middle class in Detroit? That's is laughable. I live 15 miles from downtown Detroit. I would say $75,000 puts you in the bottom tier of middle class in the Detroit area. $50,000 is now top tier of being poor in Detroit.

Texas and I’m the soul provider for my family I have always made enough for my wife to have a new car and a nice house . I’m a truck driver I have my own truck and in January I left my 4 bedroom home on three Acres cause our food bill went up 250 dollars our electric went up 324 dollars so my wife and decided to down size . I've never been middle class. I live paycheck to paycheck. Right now at 60 I literally work 7 days a week. I'm blessed. I'm very healthy and can do it. I work at one job at right around 40 hours in 4 days at 21.50 hr. My other job I work 25 to 30 hours in three days at 17. Hr. I am lucky considering my mortgage is only 1500. I'm tired. But I have so much more than so many. Praise God!
I have two grown children, both have very good jobs, raising two children each. My advice to them was needs, wants, emergencies, on how to handle money issues.
I rejoice for you and your wife. I am 88 (my husband is 97), married 70 years. We went to Paris for several weeks for our 39th anniversary. Trip of a lifetime. We we t to our local college to school so we could learn some French to have the ability to exchange a fair conversation with the French citizens.

Montana here, I woukd keep in mind 2 things as far as rising middle class. Since the election I have patients from CA, WA, Oregon who sold their properties for 2 to 3 x what they would get here so they bring that money. But most importantly Bozeman is the Beverly hills of the rockies now. It reminds me of where I'm from Hilton Head Island SC. Lots of people with money move there and drive up the costs.
Northern Illinois here, and I think the number 52,000 is in no way middle class! I believe you would have to be living in some of the smallest central and southern parts for that .they arentaxingnus to death here!
I was, years ago born and lived most of my life in the Los Angeles area of California. Made good money working my ass off. Saved it, invested it. Nursed it to a great fortune where more than twenty years ago I moved from Kalifornia and now live in retired splendor in the great country of Thailand where I feel I have more freedoms than the “supposed” land of the free. I always considered myself middle class, but as fate seems to go, I think I truly lucked out. During my career, I never lived from paycheck to paycheck as most middle class seem to do. I count my lucky stars, running into and listening to many folks that taught me the way to do things.

A lot of hard working people can’t say the same thing, BCP. A lot of us are hard working folks, and tried to live within our means. But, ever since Biden stole the White House away from Trump, a lot of us are having to dip into our savings and retirement just to support our families from month to month. I’m a single mother (not by choice) of two kids, and I have one kid who just finished his first year of college, and I have a 10 year old daughter. It is really tough supporting 3 people on one income. Can’t wait for Trump to get back into office, so he can fix this mess we call “Bidenomcs!” This man will go down as not only the worst President in our country’s history, but also an illegitimate President. He knows he didn’t win in 2020, and everyone around the world knows he didn’t win! I just hope the DemonRats don’t rig the 2924 election, and we get Biden for another 4 years! I’m praying everyday that this doesn’t happen!

Tennessee here. How is the middle class #s so low in all states? How is anyone supposed to live on $30k with a family of let’s say 4 comfortably? All these state #s seem WAY low for middle class. I had always thought in my 65 years that middle class had levels of comfort with less stress with regular bills + extras. Not so anymore.
I do consider myself middle class, and I live below my means. No, I can't travel around the world, unless I travel by credit card, I can and do travel. I also can afford to help my children when they have financial problems. I am 64 collect SS and work for a tax company and have my own tax practice; this is seasonal work. I live in North Carolina and plan to move back to Florida, but not Miami! (Central)
