I've got to say, as much as Fable III left me rather unsatisfied for its lack of content, the whole Aurora darkness caves + desert campain part was so well designed and written. They really knew how to get that chilly frightening athmosphere, showing fear setting in Walter and you dog, putting more and more dark goo, bugs and creepy sounds as the haunting ambient music plays, the whole sectarian and madening orations of the Crawler and his children, and that final climax of terror as Walter gets abducted and blinded. The camera getting a fisheye as you progress into the dunes right after leaving Walter was so on point, and that moment when you realise you're still being chased by drakness even out of the caves, seeing the Crawler's illusions and listening to the story behind Walter's claustrophobia that he saw in his mind. To be honest, the entire campain is damn well written and I have fun everytime I replay it, I just wish it would've been fuller
@@Evaille To be fair, I think it doesn't hold a candle to Fable 2. It feels like a washed down version of it gameplay wise (except for the dual spell gloves which are really cool) But they did a good job on the areas and the atmospheres
Seriously, I didn't mind Fable 3, but the shade and desert bit? Loved it so much, been awhile since I've played a game that was that powerful. And then I became Queen and everything went downhill.
@@boomervergil1178 Not really. Just do some side quests, and get more guild seals for leveling up all while letting money come in. It doesn't take long to build up.
Eh, they are only difficult to find near the end. All n all they add some nice lore to the Aurorans and aren't as much BS as some of the collection based quests other RPGs have had.
Fable 3 was such a flawed game, but the soundtrack (or at least this particular track) was spot on. This track was perfectly composed and chosen, and matched the scene with Walter as you left the cave perfectly.
+Luvie1980 so true. I found myself hanging around the same place longer than i had do be just to hear the soundtracks. I finally youtubed them after I was towards the end of the game.
In my opinion this is one of the greatest soundtracks in all of gaming. It felt like something from a Zelda game. In fact the whole series felt like Zelda, but this game more than the other 2 outside combat.
At this point in the game I really wish I could've taken Walter with me, you did get the choice to leave him right away or take a few steps ye. But if it was me, I would've dragged him all the way through the desert to save him. Walter was awesome!
Plus if there was a consequence. You didn't gain good or evil from it. So leaving him would basically make it end the same way but taking him would drain your strength and make there be more and more of the darkness. Maybe even losing your guild seals as you fight or even some of your upgrades.
Same situation was in last battle. I just was scared. Not because of my things, but because of Jasper. It was relief when after the battle was Jasper in sanctuary again.
Did anyone ever go to the sanctuary while you were in the Crawler's cave, and there was darkness seeping up from the floor at the part where Walter was being held captive? I accidentally went to it, and to my horror, the Sanctuary was its old dusty self, and pools of darkness were seeping up the walls and into the air. Jasper was gone. There was no music. That freaked me out quite a bit.
Fable 3 really isn't that bad. Out of many modern games of this day and age, this game shines to me the most. It felt like a real RPG, and the game is fun enough to play with a story that is quite enjoyable to take in. When I reached into this part of the game, it kinda makes me think of what my Hero had went through to get this far. Hopefully, the new one captures at least some bits of that feel again.
People shouldn't compare Fable III and Lost Chapters by the same standards and imo most people treat the third harsh cause of how many things went different in the series. I remember playing FIII back in 2010 and honestly was amazed by the story. Gameplay-wise might not be the greatest but the world created and events are just immersive.
I must truly addmit the first time I ran into the crawler it scared the cr*p out of me, just like Wraithmarsh did in fable 2... I really wanted to get out that cave because that voice frightend me so much. What a good memory :)
Looking at the number of views and comparing to the other vids. It seems that people seem to like middle-eastern sounding music. I'll admit it has a certain charm about it. :)
@lejdcool Definitely. Closing my eyes I can just see someone wandering a desert, desperate to find land. Sand in every direction, constantly shifting, revealing nothing but the scattered bones of other unfortunate souls.
This was probably one of the only good things about Fable III. They just altered the story too much, and I hate how limited a role Theresa has. I miss the older Fable gameplay. Felt a bit more magical.....
Carson John Soundtrack quality =/= Game Quality. That's like saying Judge Dredd (w/ Sylvester Stallone) is a good movie because it has a soundtrack by Michael Giacchino.
Cosmonaut ʕ•ᴥ• ʔ you're right, but that wasnt the point i was trying to get across. I was trying to point out how someone literally goes on a game's soundtrack to let everyone know that the game sucked, which even then, is by their own standards.
Carson John That is making a huge assumption. "This game sucked." implied he played the game, and I was listening to the soundtrack - and decided to comment. I highly doubt he came here with the intention of writing shitty comments.
Before we head deeper in the cave I've got one things to say.
*BAAAAALLLLLSSSS!!!!*
I love that part😂

I didn't really like it.

What's the problem with becoming queen? You have an unlimited amount of time to build up money and upgrade your equipment as well as "level up."

Same, would love an extended version of just this part to fall asleep to
"You feed us! You feed us!"
The dessert was my favorite place to go and this soundtrack makes it right lol
I'm fond of a good pie, myself.

ChaChaLoco20 my thoughts exactly
I remember this part giving me chills with how perfect it matched up with Walter. The soundtrack for this game was amazing.
Agreed ! This particular scene is a true masterpiece 😍
If only this track were on Spotify, I could add it to my Desert Sands playlist... :
The best thing about this game is the soundtrack.
+Luvie1980 So true... too bad about the rest though.

Oh, Damn you microsoft!
When I lived in the middle east for a while and had to go to the market 5 mins for some food in the heat, this was in my head!
God I love this creepy music
This was absolutely my favorite part of the game. so atmospheric. awesome
The Court and the darkness lived together in the Void.
+David Mason
so basically the crawler is a servant of the court,
since jack of blades was mightier than him
Love this because it has an amazing representation of my culture.
Can't believe I was allowed to play this while I was in the psych ward on a 45 inch flat screen.....
for some reason this music kinda gives me the shivers, its amazing how well it fits the desert feel.
Same situation was in last battle. I just was scared. Not because of my things, but because of Jasper. It was relief when after the battle was Jasper in sanctuary again.
Sorry if I'm late, but if you check the sanctuary room during the last battle, you see it's full of darkness and Jasper isn't there
Have you ever wondered if Jack of Blades ever encountered The Crawler?
They come from the same Realm though
They're both from the void so yeah
Walter: * Reads some words from a book *
Forcefield: Am I a joke to you?
Forcefield: * Opens *
Walter: I did it!
I really loved this game. And especially the desert areas
Me too 😍
If there were any Deserts in Skyrim I would use this theme.
wait a bit more, TES 6 is coming
love this game and its soundtrack
3:45 I need an hour loop of this

I'm always happy at the point when this music plays 'cause that means I'm out of Shadelight really that place scared the hell out of me
Same with me. I thought he was dead, or something much worse... I was so glad to see him after the part with the Crawler. =I
Played through this part with some serious headphones on, you can hear The Crawler and his shadows whispering in your ears the entire time..so creepy.
This music gives me a chill down my spine
Are those violins? I love how they made them sound so Middle Eastern.
Remember this soundtrack well when watching the guards at the outpost getting slaughtered by the darkness monsters and the sand fury’s
@JarroRus Yep. A very creepy desert, considering this song...
It surrounds the city of Aurora.
I did that the first time I played and it freaked me out too!
Did anyone else get scared or atleast get chills when you saw the red eyes pop up?
that song is realy climatic
listening to fable music cuz i have nothing else to do
"I'm blind! I can't see! Help me!"
At some point, this background music is similar to In-Battle music, so I got confused sometimes and start waving with my sword XD
@XAceofBassX Imagine playing that part at 3:00 A.M, loud headphones that sound real life, but you hear nothing until the red eyes pop up. o.e
oh shit i want to make holidays in a Desert B-)
@McKizzleton like a mix between R.E. Howard and H.P. Lovecraft stories.
@LolLordy I've played through the game 3 times now and every time I went through the crawlers cave... D:
I freaked out
Dat bass
can't believe what they did to Walter in there. Poor old guy got the worst of it didn't he?
FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU THE CRAWLLLEEEERRRRRR

I don't know why but this song reminds me of Riddick Pitch black :o
im not sure if it was a glitch but this started playing in my castle (i was evil) and i was really creeped out O.o it never happened again though...
