Loving mine. Good video. I like to watch these videos as they detail things about the truck. Albeit with the salesperson inevitably telling you what your missing out with your trim level… (nope, not a Capstone)
Average buyer spends 30 hours online watching videos and reading about the vehicle they buy, before they buy it. I've been currently doing that myself. Wanted a 80 series or 100 series Land Cruiser for years. Watching and reading, I narrowed my search down to 3 years, 94-97. Specifically I want the factory triple lockers, which was 20% of the builds and those 3 years have a more powerful engine for this generation. Found one for a great price and looking at buying it when seller gets back from his vacation, next week.
The base doesn't have parking sensors even in the back, not just front. What you are looking at must have been ordered by the dealer to have them in them. I have the 4x4 SR5 basic. No sensors. Great backup camera, however.
Oh, and one more comment in case Toyota designers/engineers read these comments. I’ve been waiting for the remodel for years, and yes…Im a Toyota guy and did get my name on the list for the Tundra. However, One seemingly minor yet glaring omission has me on the fence of going through with the purchase or moving on to a F-150 or Ram………lack of tow hooks. If you get outside of California or Texas, there is a whole country out there, especially to the north where I’m at. I use tow hooks at least a couple of times a year to do minor pulls of people stuck in the snow or ice, along with other things like pulling bushes, etc. Your decision to not include tow hooks is mind-boggling especially since the Truck doesn’t get amazing MPG anyhow. What’s .0002 MPG in comparison with having to pull from the hitch or get under the truck to mount on something I don’t want to bend?
Not sure what the base models have, but the upgraded ones will have that. Its app based and after the trial period, have to pay Toyota. Nice thing you can roll up the windows, start the truck anywhere in the world, check your fuel level. Turn the climate control on and off.
A little background….I am a fan of this truck and have a SR5 crew max 4x4 on order. However, I feel the need to point some basic errors and then comment on that mpg expectation. First, the motors: All models use the 3.5 twin turbo. The SR is detuned to 348 HP and 405 ft torque (not 500 ft lb) SR5 and above is 389hp and 479 ft torque (not 386 HP and 437 ft) Hybrid is 437 HP and 583 ft lb (you were correct here) As for the mpg estimate of 33. I’m not sure who is saying 33 and I’ve watched every CZcams video I can find on this truck. Some basic facts on hybrids that you should know as a salesman. A) they don’t get much, if any, Better highway mileage vs normal motors due to the additional weight. Hybrids shine in city driving. The truck gets 23 highway with normal motor, so expect a max of 24-25 highway with hybrid. B). This exact same hybrid system is already here….it’s called a Ford F-150 powerboost . Similar 3.5 tt mated to a similar inline electric 10 speed with pretty much the exact HP and torque as the Tundra. The one HUGE benefit to the Ford is 700 lbs weight savings. The rating? 24/24/24 without the additional bloat of the Tundra. Your 33 mpg would be a mind-blowing number, but there needs to be some realism if you’re going to post a video like this and trying to be factual. Look…I think Toyota engineers do a great job. But physics are physics, and unless they are working with pixie dust and unicorns, there is no way they get 9mpg better than Ford with essentially an overweight version of the same thing. Expect 25/25/25 at the very top end…I would guess 24/24/24.
This is unfortunately true. Looks like they got a bad batch of the flap that releases the turbo exhaust? No doubt they will fix it but it’s not a good look
What about if it is really really really ugly?? Just FYI, people are kicking the door down to buy them and paying above MSRP nation wide at the 1300 Toyota stores. Sales will tell Toyota if they need to change it's looks, which is just cheap stamped sheet metal.
@@Hammy1TV The front looks like a bass fish. The sides looks 100%gmc. The rear has no step to get in the bed. No tow hooks. elephant ear air vents Toilet seat looking center arm rest. Mileage is no better then the v8 and now toyota has a problem with it's turbo's blowing and getting into motors.
I love my 2022 Tundra
I crushed the like button before you spoke one word. Cool truck.
I’ve had about 4 months now in my 22 Tundra. Not one issue and at about 3200 miles.

@@Hammy1TV ok, obviously I’m not your target market. As I have already bought mine….
Love mine too, it’s an awesome truck
Almost 500 miles on mine. Love it so far. Just want a lift and new rims.
nice job

This trim the back window goes down? I think u mentioned u would show that but didn’t see that in video maybe I missed it
All Crewmax have full roll down rear windown

Does it have remote start by pressing the lock on the remote twice and then holding it down?
Yes
Yes takes like 4-5 seconds to start

17/22
@@Hammy1TV it just 11 MPG when you were recording it

Nice walk around but I am afraid you are delusional about the predicted hybrid mileage. Just saying. ✌🏽

These trucks have turbo problems and are blowing motors and turbo. Do not buy.
You're crazy. Toyota test their engines to simulate 5 million miles on a dyno machine and the engine has already been around for years with Lexus.
