Yeah she’s a good character, but I feel like she evolved from a background character in 2 seconds in season 4, so her death only felt meaningful because of Maggie’s reaction
And complains about someone else needing to rearrange the furniture, or needs to feel things the way she wants them to.
And she sings to everyone like shes giving them hopes.

Plenty of people hopped off by Season 5 because of the loop of characters finding a setting, being forced to leave the setting, and finding another. There’s been the campsite, the farm, the prison, the church (if brief), the barn (also brief), and then Alexandria. Plus, there were multiple times where they’d have to leave it for somewhere else, and even instances where they’d leave where they left to.
The "Shane would be proud" moments are a nice touch
If Shane was still living in season 5 or sth like that he would be a leader for sure

This recap just made me nostalgic, watching the 1st and 2nd season when i was 13 year old is amazingg
I'm still in shock over how Merle found a saw and instead of cutting through the handcuffs or pipe decided to cut off his own hand instead.
In the show they said that the cuffs were too dull to cut off so he had to cut his hand off
@@kanongibbons6575 Correct. Just like in Saw 1, you can't cut through metal or handcuffs with a regular hacksaw, the blade will break. You gotta go through hand. I'm shocked he didn't bleed to death unless he found somewhere to cauterize the stump and no infection.
@@koDaffi He fought himself off the rooftop and eventually found something inside to cauterize the stump. Recently rewatched that episode! Rick said the same thing until they found where he cauterized his stump. No infection was lucky on Merle lol but as Daryl would say, the only one that can kill Merle is Merle 😅

Seasons 1-3 were some of the best TV I've ever seen
I never cared for TWD but I kept getting clips in shorts and figured it was interesting enough to watch but all the seasons. This was a perfect way to understand the story without comitting to such a lengthy show, thank you!

I struggled to figure out where TWD fell apart and this showed me that it was season seven when they started introducing wayyyyyyyyyyy too many characters and settlements. It got to the point where it was hard to differentiate from the hilltop, Alexandria, the kingdom, oceanside, sanctuary, and the trash people.
i lowkey feel like ti started going downhill after season 3 but yeah when it got to season 7 it just went crazy
@@ayahhassan6542 Yeah the show had an amazing start because they had awesome writers but then those writers left so it went to that repetitive find safe haven and find a group that wants to destroy them and then win while killing characters for no reason to get some emotion from the viewers

Just watched TWD series for the first time. Got all the way to season 7, gave up 2 episodes in and came here. I know a lot of people love Negan but he's 100% the reason I stopped watching. Loved him in supernatural though.
When he said "RIP T-Dog" I felt that.

Yeah. And IMO Shane was really good characted and he was in my "characters i watch this series for" list. Say what you want but he got shafted to hard. And all because of the number one evil (and this includes walkers) character in TWD - Ricks wife. I actually claped then she died. She started all the drama between rick and Shane. She kept pushing him till he broke down and lost it. Only maybe Negan could be as destructive then it comes to main characters as she was. Urgh hater her.

@@teelasalada yeah and he had to. Shane was right. It was the only way to survive in that type of world. And once Rick stopped all the "wife and life I lost, then found and then lost again" bs he became strong leader and character I can get behind.
For his wife she was evil. During those tense epizodes then she wanted to be with Rick again (after she found out he wasn't dead) she really go above and beyoed to keep everything tense. If memory serves me right there was a moment where Shane was talking to her and seeing if there's some hope for them. Instead of saying no she made a scene and then ran off. But the you take out walkers out of the situacion what happened was:
1. Her husband disapeared.
2. She hooked up with his best friend.
3. Her husband shows up and because he can do that thing with his tong Shane needs to go.
4. She constantly reminds Shane that she is with other man and she pretty much used him to "warm her bed" in a meantime.
5. Shane looks for some sort of "I really like you and I agreed o raise ur kid as my own before Rick so dont be so cold" moment.
6. She pushes him away even harder and brakes news abaut a kid that might be his but will never admit it might be his.
7. Shane who was such a good guy loses it. Also he realize that Rick ruined his life. So no Rick - no problem plan is made.
8. Commence plan "no Rick no problem"

@@vincentvries9854 and he did well. Rewatching TWD atm. On the episode where horse got scared and trew Deryl (my most like character and only reason I still watch TWD) on the ground. Now keep this in mind then i tell you this. This happened moments after Ricks and Shanes conversation abaut Sofia. Shane said his honnest opinion, that they should stop or people will get hurt or even die. That's how right Shane was. Because of Sofia Carl got shot, because of her Deryl got hurt and had a close call with walkers. All because of one unstable house wife (and yeah she will become a bad-arse in future but no result-based-analysis here please) and her child who couldn't follow directions and got scared in tense situacion.
"Daryl's sick Call of Duty skills" is now my definition of Daryl's skill.

yes but there are some downsides... he had no choice but to skip a lot of important parts and the only parts he included were the main places they stayed and the fights the group battled... with some small amount of side things that happened
and he also skipped the whole daryl thing with the other crossbow men

Man of Recaps, you are LEGEND. I've been so out of TWD series and too many seasons have come and go and not enough time to catch up. This was the perfect recap/catch up.

Not to mention how many times different characters use, "yeah, I get it," when two of them are trying to resolve a personal conflict with each other. I've noticed it quite a few times throughout the series.

Carl, Glenn, Daryl, Hershel, and Judith are characters I am super attached to. I cried the most when Glenn and Carl died.
I’ll never recover from Glenn death to be honest
The first death I cried to was Sophia, but it was more crying because of Carols reaction.
The first real death I cried to was Hershel. I knew how Glenn was gonna die due to the comics but it still killed me to watch, and then Carl’s shocked me because in the comics… (Spoilers for anyone who hasn’t read them)
He is literally one of the sole survivors of the main group. But those were the main deaths I cried to. I never really recovered from Glenns death though and stopped watching for a bit after Rick ‘died’ but I started watching the show again

My heart broke when Beth Greene was killed. When Glenn died the rest of me broke and I couldn't continue to watch the show anymore.

Almost a perfect recap. The only thing I think you missed was that Carl died saving Sadiq. I feel like that was the time to introduce Sadiq and not just when he dies.
Nah that was good to be left out. He didn’t make this recap to tell every detail. He made it to quickly run through the important notes so people can caught up. He intentionally left out important points like that, Maggie and glens baby, etc, so it isn’t just a recap of spoilers, and so we can watch ourselves and know the details.

Well, he also forgot to mention that Morgan goes crazy because his son dies. He just says he's crazy now and moves on. That was pivotal imo.

One of the best series I’ve ever scene. I stopped watching the show when they felt the need to keep Negan around. For some reason, they thought it was a good idea to have him kill two of the shows favorite characters with a baseball bat, and then terrorize the rest of the good guys for eternity without him dying. Andrew Lincoln saw the writing on the wall too. When he left, all of the faithful viewers left with him. The first 5 to 7 seasons were magnificent though, every good thing ends eventually, so it was sad when the show imploded.

bro i always saw people talk about this show and i thought it was trash... so i basicaly didn't watch because of how people talked about it like got (the difference is that i watched 1 full season of got and droped because is trash) but the walking dead is so good... my advice is for you to just watch it you know? turn your expectations off and just watch

Seasons 1-3 are the best seasons but season 7 onwards excluding season 9 are bad

Season 6 was ok but became insane in the second half, season 7 was also amazing in it first half but it became boring because it just repeated itself. Season 9 and 10.. i dont know, it was ok but it had much more potential to be better. For me tbh, season 10 was the first season where i was disappointed

You know, Walking Dead has been about 50/50 good/bad seasons for me, but I am kinda sad to see such a long running show go. Not many shows get to get past a 4th season in today's television.

Same here, Tom. It's been such a big part of my life-good and bad. At least we have Daryl and Carol for the next TWD series and, even if it is as crappy as A World Beyond, at least we can go off slowly. Plus, the three movies. I really hope for the series finale, our guys kill all of the characters of World Beyond.

Seeing how the cast looks like in the beginning compared to the end is so different and makes me kinda sad especially during season 6-7 with Negen (I’m on season 7 now so I’m not sure what happens lol) but like damn I will always cry for Glenn 😢
I stopped watching this show like four episodes into season 5 so this is really appreciated (I mostly just want to see how certain relationships developed over the series, like Daryl and Carol.)
