- A recent trip to the dolomites presented me with a long dream of taking to the skies and getting some great footage. We had 4 days with clear sunny days and almost no wind.
I definitely pushed some boundaries and arrived home with almost no batteries sometimes. But all my drones came home safely which was also a pleasant gift.
I hope you enjoy the video and the beautiful scenery and enjoy a Dolomites Experience all the way to the summit of many of these peaks.

Sensacional!!!
Wish to see more DVR's with footage like this :)
Very nice Paulo
Beautiful! 🤩
awesome flights! how many KM away did you make it? It looks like there's vibrations that are being picked p by the Insta360 coming through the frame. A different or lower fixed frame rate on the camera might help... or a stiffer frame.
Thanks.... I have been trying to get rid of the jello maybe changing the frame is the way to go as I have done many other things with no help. I was out about 4km and did not fly further because of battery and also DJI fpv system was also going critical.
Really great footages, top. Question: did you use a single receiver?
I just converted my FrSky R9 Light Pro Tx and R9 MX Rx to expressLrs. I used to fly with the SX dual receiver but that one is not compatible with expressLrs. Would a single MX receiver be enough for long range?
I would say it depends a lot on your environment. I never had issues flying and losing signal up to about 4km. I do usually avoid flying close to antennas. I use the r9mini and r9m module with 250mw at 50hz
@@ppoinha thanks for the feedback. What's your antenna position? On the back off the Quad?
@@HaraldLabout yeah tied to one of the arms. And I use one of these frsky zipp moxon antennas on the tx side.
Hi! Very nice footages! Did you have telemetry with r9 all the way? What was your max distance with r9 and telemetry worked? Thx!
About 4km and telemetry was perfect. I am running elrs on the r9 hardware and not the r9 system.
@@ppoinha rhx! I now try the elrs on r9, hope will be fine
Run version 1.x :-) I heard version 2 and 3 are not so good with 868mhz
@@ppoinha thx!
Would be nice to know more info on your 7" setup. frame, motors, vtx, elrs receiver, props
Drone details:
Frame: Martian 7"
Motors: Emax Eco II 2807
Props: Cyclone 3-blade 7056C Pro
Flight Controller: SPRacing F4 v3
ESC: Racerstar Anniversary 35a 4in1
FPV: Caddx Vista and DJI FPV v1
Transmitter and RX: Radiomaster TX 16s with ELRS 868mhz running on R9M and R9 Mini
Camera: Insta360 SMO 4K
Battery: 4500mah LiPo
Nice footage which would benefit from a post-production stabilization.
Tried that but the Jello is high frequency and the stabilization doesn't work. Need to fix that somehow.
@@ppoinha Yes, you first have to get rid of this jello : figure out where do the vibrations come from (props ?) and add an ND filter
@@thilamfpv205 I have motors soft mounted, camera soft mounted with ND16 filter. I have tried everything and still having the jello. Tried 60fps, 30fps no luck so far. Of course it is much more noticeable when you have such far away scenery where a little shake is multiplied by the effective distance. I never notice jello when I am doing some scenery in a forest or with close objects. The challenge remains 🙂
@@ppoinha You're right, it's weird... The jello has dramatically decreased on my mid-range setup by replacing the propellers with low-pitch new ones. Moreover, did you check that the GoPro shutter satisfies the 180-degree rule ?
@@ppoinha But I wish I would be able to make the same flights as you did. I'm too afraid to loose my quad 😉
