THEORY: Cosmo is Dumb From Granting Too Many Wishes (Fairly Oddparents)

- Check Out More Theories: • MY BEST THEORIES Cosmo is a character who gets progressively more unintelligent as Fairly Odd Parents goes on… But why? Well, in an attempt to dismantle the lore once again, I jump into the shocking repercussions on Fairy World, magic, and the biggest law held in “Da Rules”.
More Evidence: In the Fairly Odd Movie, the villain proved that you can dry fairies of their magic by electrocution. And it makes them mentally and physically deprived. Boom. Evidence.

I miss the old cosmo he was more clever and a better father figure compared to Timmy's actual dad.
Don't blame Timmy's dad blame DINCKLEBERG!
Always blame .... DINKLEBERG!
And he didn't sound like he doesn't have balls!
Cosmo is smarter than Timmy's dad.
@@wytenight9811 they made him dumber
There is plausible evidence that Timmy makes significantly more wishes than average. In "Wishing Well" he had to go to a reform school for kids who wish much. In "Unwish Island" it's revealed that his wishes are a pain for Jordan to deal with. This is compounded by the fact that most kids lose their faires in less than a year while Timmy has kept his for a few years.
I was going to mention unwish island also but I couldn't remember the name of it and I'll add that most kids unwishes end up in a locker but Timmys is a locker and an island
Edit: Also to add I kinda remember an episode where Jordan shows up and forces Timmy to make wishes it was some sort of test either fail/Do nothing and lose your fairy godparents or pass and keep them might go with idea of magic build up and drainage
Joseph Edmond Jorgan is also unaware that Timmy made that wish where he wished everyone stopped aging so could keep them for over 50 year. So, over 50 years the amount of wishes are unimaginable.
PTANG PTANG!
How about the one time that Cosmo lost his memories and believed that he's a genie after Timmy's dad discovered him and start granting wishes for him(until Cosmo regained his memories)

In the episode about the millionth wish, it was Cosmo that caused Timmy to remain 10 forever. Also, Butch left Nickelodeon
Andrew Bercovitz who is to say that timmy didnt make him wish to forget other things as well?
Andrew Bercovitz for 50 years and then more after
Maybe it has something to do with anti cosmo possiblely getting smarter and this is effecting regular cosmo
I was about to mention that, but it wasn't quiet that. It was i wished everyone would stop ageing and that no one would notice, then covered it up by wishing Cosmo would forget granting that wish. Thus making it a forbidden secret wish.
Did he?
There's an episode exploring the history of March 15th where Cosmso basically takes the Neuralyzer from Jorgon and flashes himself 8-10 times, basically erasing A LOT. I just think he's teaching himself all over again.
I miss the first version of Cosmo, a smooth talker with an amazing voice and incredibly good romance with Wanda
Omg yessss.
And has street smarts

Realistic Answer: Cosmo got more stupid because Cosmo being stupid is basically a running joke and it sets up plots for episodes well.
Your Answer: The fun one
Cosmo is the funest character
@@CueVatsuki Not really.
Real answer: We live in a post Simpsons era where most cartoon dads have to be complete dumbasses.
What if: Fulfilling wishes is like doing crack for fairies. There are strict rules for fairies only to fulfill wishes of their child and wishpower gets distributed by central fairy government. Because fulfilling wishes is highly addictive, at least for weak willed faries, Cosmo subconciously pushes timmy to make wishes, because he's a wants him to feed his addiction. It obviously also damages their minds.
I was thinking, if fairies get dumber if they use too much magic, what if the spells that are outlawed by Da rules take up too much magic from the fairies and make them lose intelligence faster and the fairy council chose to ban these spells so they can increase the fairy's usefulness by stabling their intelligence by getting rid of those spells
Asking for love would make it so it would have to continue for a long time
This makes so much sense because some of the rules also involve harm to real individuals which could probably take up so much magic to articulate. If you wish for world without girls, it kills Cupid. How much magic do you think is required to get rid of half the population? You also can't use magic to maim or kill individuals (one rule is specifically for a godchild cannot wish for someone to be hit by a car) or to get rid of deadly diseases like cancer. I imagine it'll take up so much magic to do these deeds it'll be ridiculous because if you kill human individuals you are erasing their time lines and scarring the individuals dearly close to them. and what do you think will happen to the individual after having the wish undone after so many so years...whats the time line gonna be for that person from the time they have been wished to be killed to having the wish undone? Curing cancer and having the cure be undone after so many years will cause mass havoc to the humans as they try to understand why cancer has been brought back. If you wish for someone to be non existent it will alter the fabric of space and time, not only is this wish incredibly life altering but think about how much magic it would take to remove someone like Newton from history and replace ALL of what has been and whats to come. Love and to not be aged would also have to be long term..meaning magic use for decades to come...if the godchild dies from like old age or a disease the love spell will be completely eradicated from the living partner thus losing decades of memories. fairlyoddparents.wikia.com/wiki/Da_Rules
Yeah. I assume it takes a lot of energy to wish death or life on someone
Not all of them, in the episode when they introduce the genie (forgot his name) Timmy first tries to wish for an omelet, but Da Rules prevent breakfast wishes after a certain time of day. :T
@@nekomaru856 which is dumb
Well, this isn't directly on Cosmo, but when you talked about Crocker as the power supply and that they would have to have a back-up in case he died, I thought, maybe he is immortal?
I think that because of one thing:
In the special episode The Secret Wish it is revealed that Timmy had wished for stopping everyone's aging so he could keep his fairies forever.
That was sixty years ago.
When the wish got reversed along with all his other wishes, everybody suddenly aged sixty years. All except Crocker.
It is here were it is revealed by him that he had looked like that since he was ten after he lost Cosmo and Wanda himself. And about eighty years later he still looks the exact same he always did even though he must have been about ninty or one hundred years old at least.
So maybe somehow, I don't know how, Crocker has become immortal through this experience and that is why he is the faries only power source (in one episode where he stops believing in fairies through therapy they lose all their magic and have no back-up).
This could be a theory on its own, I think.
PTANG PTANG!
Jumpie Studio could it be related to a wish he made while he still had fairies?
An interesting idea but I kinda doubt it on account that one he was portrayed as selfless in his childhood prior to losing his fairies so why would he wish himself to be immortal and second why would it be triggered then by him losing his fairies?
I see where you're going with this but there must be another explanation.
There is also another detail that might be an important clue. His mother too was still alive after aging another sixty years, she however did physically change and Crocker comments that she should be dead by now, after all she's already, I think 120? He said her specific age but I don't remember it.
I could imagine something along the lines of him losing Cosmo and Wanda, afterwards, as we see, he started hunting Fairy Godparents and soon Jordan realizes his potential as a magical power source (in the asforementioned episode where Crocker stops believing he said they used to draw their energy from several magic-crazed guys until Crocker came along) and so he started drawing their magical supply from Crocker alone, giving him in turn immortality so he won't one day suddenly die. This then turns Crocker into the nevermore aging middle-aged man he apparently has been for decades.
I assume its Crocker's relatives, also its not just Crocker powering it anymore. After his therapist stopped Crocker from believing for a while. The fairies decided it would be better to get power from all the crazy fairy believers instead of just one.
In one episode we see Timmy go to Dimmsdale before it got a name and we see a guy who looks similar to Crocker fooling the people in town for profit. That guy was actually a witch, so it could be that Crocker and his mom are partially witches and the witches age very slowly.
There's a theory that Timmy's fairy god parrents are in his head and that over the years Timmy's imagination Cosmo is going crazier as Timmy is and Wanda is Timmy's left over sanity
personaly i think the reason why timmy makes so many wishes is that he hasn't made that one wish that fixes his life. which would explain why there's an episode that explains there is an incantation a child must speak to perminatly send their fair godparents away
xaviarsly or, it could be that he hasn’t learned to cope with the world without his fairy god parents, instead becoming dependent on them. Which could be a metaphor for ignoring your problems, and you have to learn to deal with them, or start ignoring things more.
I guess I should watch the whole thing before commenting…
The incantation is "I'm happy and I don't need my fairy godparents anymore".
Fun Fact: Wanda and Cosmo are better parents to Timmy then his actual parents
Canon
No doubt, even though Cosmo is not really the brightest, he still had moments of giving Timmy actual words of wisdom and morals (at least in the earlier seasons), plus cheering him up whenever he´s down.
Your voice is my life source
i wish i had his voice!
i like the second half of his videos when he gets himself hyped when as conclusion gets closer
Marc Alcatraz right? it’s so cute and energetic ahh
Same!

I wonder why Timmy was allowed to bend the rules the most out of all the kids? I know he is the main character but why is he able to get away with all his wishes?
Cause he's just an average kid remember?
He's also the chosen one
And in close contact with krocker who's currently helping the fairy keep their magic
Okay I gotta say something!!!!!🎉🎉
I totally agree with this, and there is something important to remember, in the episode of the Secret Wish of Timmy, it's discovered that Timmy asked Cosmo to stop time so that he didn't have to grow old. This was 50 years ago, so that means Cosmo has been giving Timmy wishes for 50 years, that must drain out a lot of magic out of Cosmo. Idk, I just think it can add to this theory😂😂
Tuti Álvarez because of how massive that wish is, it might also constantly drain Cosmo's powers :o
How the hell did I not know this and how did no one know this and how do the live action moves occur
Oh! I had no idea that happened. What season was that?😅
I found Timmy’s Secret Wish confusing but oh so interesting.
We know from “The Secret Origins of Denzel Crocker” Timmy’s mom was pregnant with Timmy in 1992 and he was going to be born soon in March.
According to this, since Timmy got his fairies at age ten he must of gotten them in the year 2002 after his birthday. Meaning if he made this wish in late 2002 and has been ten for 50 years since, that means in the Fairly Odd Parents universe the proper time they would be in if everything wasnt at a stand still is late year 2052.
Its also canon Timmy started getting babysat by vicky at age 8, so he had to suffer for a few years to get fairies. We know this from the episode where we meet imaginary friend Gary.
Why i find this confusing is because in “Channel Chasers” Timothy’s character deveopment showed he *was* able to be selfless enough to grow old and forget his fairy god parents to defeat Vicky. This takes away from that developement
OR maybe he made the time stop wish right after this because expierencing forgetting cosmo and wanda was traumatic for him
Gracekim1 Season 8, episode 10😛
The reason Timmy is credited with making the most wishes is because he has had them for at least 50 years by now.
True.
Wanda went to a spa. She gets vacations. Cosmo is constantly working. He needs a day off or a week.
I never thought of how Timmy’s life was a depressing mess when I was a kid
I think Timmy made them up to cope with his depression and went insane
Explain also the part why Cosmo got pregnant and how family fairies work.
I always assumed it was meant to be the opposite of how human pregnancy works 😅🤷♀️
Maybe cosmo gets dumber because anti-cosmo is getting smarter
was recently thinking about this and had the thought of what if cosmo got so stupid when he made the secret wish for timmy and was also wished to forget it. i dont remember much of the event but seeing a clip of it recently made me think of it
After looking back on the show it has a lot more lore then I ever thought
Short answer is because of bad writing and flanderization.
Ah yes, named for Ned Flanders! What's the last remaining trait in old Ned's personality?

Cosmo cracks me up a lot and I love him very much.He is sweet, funny, entertaining, nice, kind, hilarious, optimistic, positive, loveable, cute, adorable, fun, silly, goofy, humorous, carefree, perky, bubbly, energetic, likeable, laid back, and easygoing.
They dedicated an episode about him wishing more than any kid, the Secret Wish one. He wishes 1,000,000 wishes (+1 secret wish)
Theory 1. If fairy's explode when they over use magic, couldn't that effect them, maybe, cosmos could have exploded before, probably more than once, and a rule of explosions is that you will always lose a little of something, either your combining two elements through an explosion, parts go missing through heat.
Theory 2. Magic could also be seen as something similar to fat, if you have no fat on you, you're vulnerable, and if you have too much, you can't do stuff. Maybe our world is toxic to fairy's and use magic to protect themselves, however death is not the what earth does, instead what if that they become mentally unstable about everything, and a result, inanity. Cosmos could have started of like a normal fairy, but when he sees that kids are greedy, he stops granting wishes and explodes, then he repeats this until he relies that he has to grant wishes, or forgets why he's not granting wishes, this leads to him doing wishes over time, causing him to be vulnerable, and he goes more and more insane. Most fairy's would find a balance and understand kids, but maybe cosmos cannot figure out kids.
Theory 3. What if cosmos is supposed to be insane, someone who will do whatever the kid tells him to do, because not all kids can be saved the same way, maybe the fairy government has Intel on every kid, and knows if they need a yes person or a friend.
we will never truelly know
Update, never seen show
This is so cool, I love your theories so much ❤
Unfortunately Butch is now retired from Nickelodeon so he can’t incorporate it into the show BUT it would be cool to see how he responds to this if he sees it!
Well, why won't he hired the showrunner instead like how Hillenburg hired one (Paul Tibbit) before he left?
Bravo you’re really good at making theories
The godparents literally state that if there magic is severely overused, it burns out. I forget witch episode this is, but it most definitely works for your theory. Think about it please.
The Unknown he states this early on in the video...
@@enderwalkgang did he? I apologise he covers things very quickly at times and I don't always notice every little detail

@@enderwalkgang yeah. You gotta realize I have adhd i was reading comments simultaneously
@@asher_delphi976 I remembered clearly he said UNERused not overused. I think that guy got confused and that you were right :)
I also remember in one episode, where there is too much fairy dust in Timmy's house. Cosmo says that Faires don't have good memory which is why they named their kid Poof
Another amazing theory video! Good job Mr. Theorizer! Keep it going!
That episode u mentioned was like a TV movie called the secret wish about Timmy making more wishes then anyone else, and using cosmo to make a secret wish
So yeah I think your right haha
This theory actually makes sense because when you listen to the reasoning of they get dumber the more wishes they make it adds up as Wanda also also got dumber as time goes on she’s like a second cosmo basically
Do you think that one of the fairy counsel could be a anti fairy? Maybe the first anti fairy?
Keep it up with the theories I binge all of them when I’m drawing and animating
Hey, I vaguely remember an episode where Cosmo acknowledged he was lip syncing as animated characters do, hinting at some higher intelligence he might be hiding because he doesn't want anyone to find out what he is doing with it.
Timmy apparently wished 1,000,000 wishes + 1 that was a secret wish and for a few more seasons that makes over 1,000,301 wishes
I'm sorry to inform you, but Butch left nick a while ago. He made a video on it a week ago I think.
Well, there has been several examples of Cosmo having either a tiny brain or no brain at all, also ranging from grape jelly in his ears, a dancing man from the 80's, and elevator music being played.
Also, Dr. Rip Studwell literally diagnosing Cosmo as "stupid".
I’d love to see a video breaking down how this affected Wanda
Your channel needs way more subscribers like honestly 😂😂 I’m furious
He might also be using more to reduce Wanda's burnout.
I have one thing to add to your theory is that Cosmo actually has has time to restore his magic as seen in the episode where Timmy makes his secret wish Timmy has had them for 100 years he just wished that everyone would stay the same age without them knowing so he never loses his fairly godparents so him making 1 million may seem a lot but not that big when you think about him having them for over 100 years
HailedSpace28 what episode is this??? It soubds bizzare
Would you do a theory on if the other fairies grant wishes to other dimensions or something? Since if all fairies had children, having a fairy wud be more common even if they kept it a secret.
These theories you give always amazed me to listen your theory.

Can you please make a theory about why the other mother can see and control what her hand is doing in the normal world ?
If the Theorizer posts one video, I fall down the rabbit hole of ALL the theories!
So glad I'm early. Love the theories 👍
Im so excited to watch this!
Isnt this explained when timmy goes back in time to find out why crocker hates the 15th of march or something? He gets his mind erased multiple times when he is taken away from, crocker. Does this have anything to do with it?
E.V.P ASMR Can’t say I saw that episode, can you explain it
Rogue Wolf Studios timmy and his classmates are terrifried on march 15th because that is when crocker is at his meanest. Timmy takes his fairies back in time to fix whatever causes crocker to act so mean. We learn that cosmo and wanda were crockers fairies and were taken away for breaking one of the fairy rules .
E.V.P ASMR oh damn, yah don’t remember that one
It's actually a huge mind fuck. The actual act of Timmy going back is what made crocker loose Cosmo and Wanda. The rule that crocker broke was reviling that he had Cosmo and Wanda. So crocker lost them because Timmy went back in time too find out crocker lost them BECAUSE he went back in time. This has always blown my mind.
It's a huge paradox. If timmy never went back then crocker keeps Cosmo and Wanda but Timmy had to have gone back because Crocker lost them long before Timmy's birth. Even so it was Timmy's fault to begin with. My head hurts trying to think about this.
i love your energy!
all specials & movies of this show together can confirm this theory

The piece of evidence that shows Timmy wishes a lot is the one episode where they selibrat Timmy making 1 million wishes

I expected this to be about a tumor, but then you basically had your own version of "a wizard did it!"
I have this theory that the Fairy's made Mr Crocker immortal or at least indestructible, so that they never had to worry about their magic and that's why Mr Crocker can basically outlive his injures that should've killed him. Or Timmy will become the new Mr Crocker, since both had parent(s) that were always away and how they were bullied or the fact that THEY BOTH HAD THE SAME GODPARENTS, so maybe the faires are thinking ahead and when Mr Crocker dies they'll take away Timmy's godparents but Timmy will remember them which will make Timmy go down the same road as Mr Crocker. Also the fact that Jordan or that the Fairy Console never erased Mr Crocker memories when they could've so easily do it. (Yes I know they use Mr Crocker as a way to get their magic but maybe this is what the faires do to have there endless magic)
This is about to be good lmao
I know I already commented already but there is actually an episode where Timmy gets in trouble for wishing too much. It’s called “Wishing Well”.
The literal plot is about him over using them to the point where they get exhausted and frustrated.
It makes sense, thinking about Timmy's Secret Wish too.

I wonder if Cosmo limited his magic use for a while, could he revert back to normal? I know that with a child like Timmy that could be difficult, but I wonder if it is possible to regain balance to a Fairy's mind and body if they stop overusing their magic.
I feel like Cosmo just…well as he put it regarding himself and Wanda; “Nope, we’re two halves of a whole idiot”
I thought that Wanda represented the adult side of timmy and cosmo is his childhood side.
I hate when a You Tuber steal your or other contents
Nice vid I agree with it too

When you talked about losing children's memories of fairies. The fairies are here to improve lives so much that the child would say they dont need their fairies.

GRAVITY FALLS THEORIES NOW !!!! PLEASE DO THIS
Your voice is the greatest.
I think It's the the same idiocy progression syndrome that affects many other dumb characters. As time passed Cosmo became more stupid, annoying and ignorant instead of remaining the wacky, dimwitted fairy with a heart from seasons past.
also cosmo and wanda were their godparents too and said something like they always grow up like their parents
This was really interesting ☺️
You should make a theory about how male fairies get pregnant
I love how Cosmo being a trans man isn't even a theory at this point, it's honestly canon. Or is every single (male) fairy pretty much confirmed trans? Either way I love it and Jorgen is the best trans man rep I've ever seen 🤣
If cosmo met patrick it would be epic, theyll either sit there laughing for an eternity at each other or together bring upon the end of everything
In the episode where timmy is in court with the fairy court, we learn that timmy made at least 1 million wishes
Cosmo from season 0(oh yeah cartoons) isn't the same cosmo in season 6 they are from different universe's
By the way I have a theory the fairly oddparnts happenes in multiple universe's
My theory will explain why some characters disappear from the show and why cosmo from (for example season 6)is different from cosmo from season 0.
Hats off to the Oh Yeah Cosmo
But Seasons 4-10 Cosmo can go F*ck himself, choke on nickles and go to hell
So let count the number of wishes that hit Cosmo in the Head.......
At least more then 86 times of what I remember, So Brain Damage being replaced by Magic making Cosmo Brain lest active meaning most of his brain replace with magic, and does magic have any kind of smartness to it, it's a from of power so it just replace the brain broken part but also can't replace Cosmo Memories, Things he learn, Stuff he did, or "Rules" he need to follow. More Damaging the wish to the fairy, the dumber and slower they are to think reasonably to anything. Wanda been hit the head a lot too, and she see a bit slower in the later seasons to even being as unaware of the rules and privacy of a diary. After many deadly blows fairies are always been getting dumber, all of them. Just think about that.
3:10 I thought you were gonna say "Maybe I should make a theory on you."
File erased.
Flowey: Boy, what a shame!
*winks*
I see where you're going with the theory, especially with Wanda as proof. I haven't watch much of the final season, but at that point Wanda's almost as dumb as Cosmo, doing many 'Cosmo-ish' things herself, actions she wouldn't normally do like hop into the gut of a bear on purpose or lose her wand.
yay
PTANG PTANG!
Am I the only one that gets scared by his intro?
Anti-Cosmo is a genius essentially.
I forgot what episode this was, but I remember a scene where jorgan von strangle was showing timmy the unwished wishes lockers his is noticably bigger and looks like it could burst they even said that they had to make it bigger for him, showing that he does not only drain their magic by making wishes, but also by making massive and powerful 5hings disapear. This kinda proves your theory, but if that is the godparents purpose then why are the other lockers so small? Why is Timmy the one who gets more lessons than the others by such a large amount?
i explain why timmy gets more wishes and such in my theory lol
the parodying fangirl ok I'll check it out
