Who Tried To Destroy My Carwash AGAIN?

  • After 3 weeks of mostly-flawless operation, our carwash shut down for no reason and we suspect that it was run into by a large truck or some other vehicle.
Sensors were damaged, cable ties busted off, and we don't have a ton of good video proof to go around, so you be the judge.

From someone who works at an express wash and deals with damage claims. Please invest in cameras, if you can some good ones for details.Someone could be sabotaging your wash or maybe at some point someone might break equipment from not using it properly. Anything can happen! You never know when you might need them.
Edit: I’m aware he has cameras, also maybe adding an additional camera for closer and better angles would be beneficial for inside the wash. Also clearance signs. I honestly just think it’s sabotage due to how the wires are left out.

You need to be VERY careful when mixing/making your own soaps, especially those that are very basic (high pH) as they can literally eat your skin off & destroy your face before you even know it. Some of them may be acidic (low pH) as well, which would react very violently when in contact with one another. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the only way you can safely make soaps of this volume is in a lab with proper ventilation and safety equipment. It's just simply not worth the risk to do it any other way both from a safety or a regulatory perspective. Just buy the soap.

    12.5ml of presoak,
    10ml of each triple foam,
    10ml of single foam soap,
    5-7ml of sealer wax, and
    10ml of drying agent.

What was the first fault that started the sequence of failures? That should be the starting point of troubleshooting. Once something fails to function, everything else just piles up behind that initial failure.
I notice that you are relying on the drivers to take appropriate care to put their vehicle where it has to be within the carwash process footprint. I think there should be lines on the ground so the drivers can align their vehicle properly as they drive in and maybe marks on the wall so they don't drive too far. I suppose a hi-tech ($$$) solution would be to have a screen with the required footprint on it visible to the driver and a "graphic" of the car showing where it is in relation to that required footprint.
Maybe an overheight sensor and alarm as people don't read well and even if they do they often don't respond to the warning.
    Good luck.

Man the previous owner must be really jealous of all the money you're making to keep sending the kid who keeps stealing from your laundry mat to break your car wash

Don’t make your own soap (or if you do, don’t document it on YT) Opens up much more liability in case of damage also may void warranty.
Check your camera angles, add some “pull in slowly” signs at the bay entrances (make it idiot proof). I like the bar suggestions here if the cost is good. Also maybe look into more frequent collections/being by more to monitor or see about getting an unmarked LP person to chill nearby in case vandalism is taking place.

I owned a carwash. Worst experience of my life. Sell it, move on and get your life back! Fancy videos of you collecting money for youtube views isn't worth the stress.
But is you want to keep it, dilute your soap or invest in a cheaper soap. Customers don't care what brand and it's all just visual. Soaps dont really do nothing as you need to let it sit for 3-5minutes to have any 'dirt loosening' effect. It's the high pressure water that does all the cleaning and a finish spray gives it a nice end finish and shine

Did you not do your research before buying that car wash system you shouldn't be having this many problems with a brand new car wash as your having. Keep using the commercial chemicals for your carwash they clean cars alot better then homemade soap.

I know exactly why that's happening. you bought some cheap ass zip ties that were not UV rated. when something like that you do not shape out on the zip ties. you buy the UV rated zip ties you don't go cheap. that's why you go zip ties and then you go metal zip ties. to hole all the line frombusting anpart .

also don't you know what a camera is put a camera up so you make sure no one smashes their damn car in the dang freaking car wash and it also put a bar across the entryway at the height of the car wash so if they drive in they smash into the concrete bar going across and not your car wash

I mean...making your own soap sounds good but how much do you go through a week? And how long would it take? It doesn't matter if you save a lot of money if you have to spend twenty hours a week making soap because you might not have that twenty hours.
