I've been running the 99 w a bruiser all the time now, and once I got the recoil down, I won't even pick up a 301 anymore. I can shred w the 9 just fine

i think the volt/r-99/301 is one of those things where you can have one of every type and it doesn’t change how you play the game too much depending which one you use
My Experience with the r99 was great in the last time. From always using the r301 to one clipping with the r99 from far distances.

R301 is still the best overall gun imo. The single fire mode is the icing on the cake. R99 is great for confidently pushing n just rolling lobbies
I use to love playing caustic with a R99 and hipfire one clip ppl in my gas. Then they kept nerfing it while the volt was destroying ppl, to the point where if you didn’t hit all your shots it sucked. I will say if it’s good again I may need to try it.

I do r301 with 2x and an r99 with a 1x. I started out as a carbine player but now I play r99 but that doesn't mean I don't like carbines. I love them both.

Yeah agreed. The r9 definitely has an easy recoil pattern, but you have to compensate for it way more than you do with the r3. The r3 just beams with barely any adjustment. Using m+kb

I'm that Wraith that can do that but my randoms land in deserted places so I leave or keep fightin 3 squads & get us killed instead of listenin to me sayin I'm gonna make a Portal into zone💀 so many Wraiths don't even use a portal & barely use her abilities, they use it when they not in fights even the phase, I literally had to tell the Wraith I played wit earlier that he's playin Wraith & that he should make a Portal, he finished the game wit barely 100 damage & had the nerve to have the Quarantine skin, they make me look bad 🤣
now you know damn well the R301 has no recoil...... and it hasn't had recoil since season2 lol! i dont see why its hard for everyone to admit this. that the R301 is only good because its lack of recoil. r99 and flatline make you better as they require recoil control tech to make the best out of them. in my opinion 99 has always been on par with 301. and there only difference that ever matters is one requires control and the other doesn't.
Both have very little recoil, I miss the S1 r301 where it was non existent lol

One thing to mention: SMG's don't have a headshot multiplier at a distance greater than 37m. Running the r301 is still legit at those medium to long range distances, but I 100% agree with Moose, the r99 just feels more versatile now with the damage buff

Correct in all cases. R99 is by far the best gun this season (we not talking about that burst fire bitch they added). I’m loving it 😂
R99 is better as far as damage and hip fire close now but R-301 is still supreme mid and long. I been taking ppl down like what nerf they could have left the hip fire alone tho.

Sure, but some guns are way easier to control than others. The spitfire would be nuts if it's spray pattern were more predictable, rather than jumping all over the place. Same with the L-Star.

Dumb question. Haven't played apex in while, but how did he tap strafe (air strafe?) at 10:48? I didn't think it was possible to do that on controller.
just simple steam configs. it binds a button on your controller to WASD and repeats it over and over to get the same effect as a scroll wheel tap strafe
Tap strafing is possible on controller. There's even a special mid-air backwards one that only controller can do. I think obi is explaining a Neo-strafe, which is a configuration purposely made to do "ww, wd, dd,ds,ss,sa,aa,aw,ww", and repeats giving you an insane circular strafe. Which, as far as I know, is only capable on KBnM.🤷♂️.

No that's a fact I love the 99 but it's harder to control, now I have used it for years so I know how to use it at range but that's juss me, if you are a close quarter typa guy then SMG's are the way to go, but if you like mid-long range then AR's are the way to go, as well as you can go AR & SMG also which covers both aspects
