  • Have you ever put a load of laundry in the washer, then when you went to fold it after, you seem to have one fewer sock than you put in? Well, it doesn't just disappear into another dimension....your washer CAN actually eat your socks, and your other small items!
But don't worry, because in this video, we'll show you how to remove several common objects that can become trapped in your washer! This will help reduce those strange sounds you hear from your washer, prevent you from having to buy new socks, and even prevent some more serious issues with your washer down the line.

Thank you so much! I lost 2 cards that were in my pocket. Most importantly I think I learnt to use a torch to look carefully!

I found a small magnet behind the bellows. I never would have thought to look there, at least not so closely. Thanks, Mr. Parts Select!

The video was very much helpful. Greatly appreciated.
Anyway, it does not explain how to remove a Bank card went inside. This is how I solved the problem. (mine is a Candy CE 439 T bought in 2000 and still going like a baby. Ha, haa!!) Once a bank card has gone inside, with washing cycles, normally its outer (printed) layers peel off, as whole or teared parts, and they might clog the water outlet. You can remove them by cleaning the water outlet and its duct. But for the thick part of the card it might rest at the bottom of the drum or stuck with the heater element, making scratching noises when the drum rotates. To see where the card is, just put a torch at the bottom of the inner drum facing down, slowly rotate the drum left and right a little and through the holes you can see where the card is. If it is merely resting at the bottom, using a thin screwdriver or a wire inserted through a hole and by rotating the drum as appropriate, you can push the card (or its remains!) towards the water outlet at the bottom of the outer drum. Then, by removing the water outlet hose/bellow there, you can carefully pull out the card by hand (it is flexible!). (Don't forget to check the outlet hose/below for stuck parts) If the card is stuck with the heater element so badly, (what exactly has happened in my case) by following the process explained in the videos here, carefully pull out the element a little, waive the element up and down a bit allowing the card to be free and fell, then follow the above procedure to remove it...!!!

How do I remove clothing stuck between the inner and outer baskets if I can’t turn the drum? I can see a sock stuck near the very back of the drum but it’s preventing the drum from turning.
