  • Michael Jackson-Bolanos, the man accused of killing Samantha Woll, will not be-retried for the murder and home invasion after he was in court on Friday.
    Judge Margaret Van Houten ruled that, based on previous precedent, murder charges and home invasion charges against Jackson-Bolanos would be dismissed in the case.
    In July, a jury convicted 29-year-old Jackson-Bolanos of lying to police during the investigation into Woll's October 2023 murder. The jury also found him not guilty of premeditated murder but deadlocked on felony murder and home invasion charges.
    After hearing arguments from both sides regarding sentencing, Van Houten sentenced Jackson-Bolanos to 18 months to 15 years with 243 days credit.

      He’s going to be under suspension for his decorum in the court room. Throwing hissy fits when he didn’t get his convicted felon probation & due to his previous crimes & convictions & the number of past convictions, he came up as a 4x loser & was given maximum, by law for his crimes. He even admitted to more crimes on the stand & wasn’t even charged with them, something his atty should have told him to not say on the stand. The way he behaved, after she found in his favor to not allow the prosecutor to bring back the 2 most severe charges of murder & home invasion & then to act so immature when she gave him 18 months - 15 years on the count the jury found him guilty for. The judge could have let the prosecution retry him on the two other charges they hung on, but she sided with the defense. Even when she ruled in his favor again for OV19 to a 0 and in favor of the defense, he still showed his arse at the end. He has been given chance after chance & then had 40 write ups in 5 years in prison when he could have been out in 10 months, 10 months turned to 5 years for stealing, fighting in jail.

      She is doing her job. I am waiting for the defendants atty to be suspended from the bar for 6 months for his inappropriate courtroom behaviors. He knows decorum & the fact that you don’t pout when you don’t get what you ask for when your defendant has the past record he earned himself. Using racism doesn’t work in 2024, there’s nothing racist in this trial, other than people who protect criminals with long time history of crimes, violent crimes, and the defendant was looking at much more time than what he got. He already testified to being charged with the car robberies & getting 30 years from that, not even mentioning the murder, acting as if he never saw the woman, when he claims he had hidden from any people on the streets, & is seen on multiple cameras all during his little crime scape.

    • @dudemorris7769
      @dudemorris7769 Před 22 dny

      You also realize the jury, not the judge or state found him guilty of count 2 & the judge dismissed the other 2 charges due to the jury being hung. The Judge, not the prosecutor or defense, dismissed two cases & told the prosecutor they can’t try them again, two serious cases that the jury was hung on with 1/2 believing he did murder the woman, the judge could have absolutely ruled in the prosecution retrying this man a 2nd time & the prosecutors have appealed this to retry him. He was only found not guilty on 1 of the 4 counts, guilty on 1 count & hung on 2 counts, which usually are brought back to retry. The fact he was on probation when he was out casing & got on the stand & admitted to multiple crimes that night & through the weeks ahead of casing cars & homes for later burglaries. The defense atty is 100% unprofessional & this Judge did an amazing job at splitting the baby. He also filed an appeal for Mr Bolanos & it was denied again within 5 days of his conviction.

    What did I just watch? This Case was Ridiculous to begin with. Then you have the true Killer seated behind Michael. You have the Weirdo who actually said "If I did it" and gives a scenario similar to the actual crime. Then you have the Weirdo Stalker who Samantha was Trying to get rid of....Confess that he did the Crime.
    Funny Cops could Trail Michael miles through the downtown area, but they couldn't track the person running away from Sam's Apt at
    1:20 a m. You find that Person you Solve Sam's Murder.
    I really hope Sam's Family can understand there was Not Any Evidence Supporting that Michael Murdered Sam. No DNA anywhere at the Crime Scene, No Bloody Footprints, nothing tying Michael to Sam's Murder.
    I Really Hope and Pray that Sam will get Justice and that Cops will put the Tunnel Vision behind them and Find Out who that Person was, who was running away at
    1:20 a.m. Look a little harder at her past boyfriends and male friends, that Murder was Brutal, heinous, and a total crime of passion. Nothing was taken, not even her purse, wallet car keys, Nothing!
    Judge Van Houten, it makes Absolutely No Sense on the Charges and Points you are accessing, back from Juvenile acts as well!?there merely guidelines.
    18 months to 15 years for trumped up charges is Wrong. He admits he did Wrong, and he won't be back before the Court. Probation was More than Enough.

      There are sentencing guidelines that MUST be adhered to by judges. The defendant is rated as a 4th time habitual offender so is sentenced according to the offense as well as his own record of previous criminal convictions. Doesn’t seem like he will do 18 months since the last time he was incarcerated he committed 40 violations including assault, theft and sexual battery which resulted in him serving his full sentence. Unless he really is a changed man he will do some serious prison time.

    Is he sentenced to 18months to 15 years? But every one in the chat saying 18? I’m confused now or the judge was saying he has to serve both 15months and 15 years consecutively?!
    If that’s the case, might as well say he’s serving time for the murder because in that case every single cop and even the ex boyfriend should be serving same amount of time!! This judge must be recused asap!! She was being vindictive and accusing him of crimes he wasn’t charge with or even if he confessed can’t be charged with since it’s been dismissed with prejudice, this’s the justice a black man (even though be it a petty criminal) gets in America!! 😭😭😭😫
