As a black girl born and raised in Switzerland, I knew absolutely nothing about but instantly fell in love with Jersey club music. Until A WEEK ago, I would call it "that beat" because I didnt even know this kick pattern that I adore came from/was called Jersey Club. To be honest I thought Cookie Kawaii and her producer invented it😅😅😅 That's why it's important to stay informed. Thank you so much for this video and greetings from Switzerland😊
This was the music I spent my “wild youth” in Jersey/NYC listening too. People in the US mock NJ for being ridiculous, but they don’t understand we love being ridiculous.
Funny enough, many of my foreign friends, South America and Europe specifically, really “fit in” the Jersey party scene.
THIS IS DOPE !! COMING FROM A NATIVE AND PIONEER OF JERSEY DRILL, I RESPECT THIS MY BOY 🥷🏾💜💯
appreciate you g, glad you enjoyed
UNIIQU3 here ! I think this video is dope and very insightful. Thanks for showing love 💕 #ClubQueen
appreciate you goat, hope to revisit the topic once I get more resources and make like a proper documentary
We love you @Uniiqu3
The thing that brought me here wasn’t even a English song, it’s actually a K-pop song “Ditto” by NEWJEANS , the pre chorus was so catchy that I want to deep dive into the music theory.
Thank you for the explaining! I learned a lot today.
Glad you included Baltimore. No one ever talks about how Baltimore started the wave lol
facts
I’m from Jersey and I agree
Jersey, Baltimore and Philly club all got different sounds. This new wave is jersey bmore had Nike man n allat. It sounded nun like jersey club which was ALWAYS vibey beats with samples. This new wave the world on Ain bmore or philly y’all gotta stop Tryn take credit from JERSEY club SMH
Jersey club didn’t even start with Dj Tamiel bruh they been on it since the 80’s you Needa do the research
RIGHT bro you don’t know much that shit boils my blood 😂😂😂
im not even from the usa and i listened to jersey club for the past 5 years im so proud of it😂bc everyone is just discovering it
It’s time for you to do a Part 2 broski, everything you predicted came to be as far as Jersey Club becoming a dominant genre … hit me 💪🏾
I’m a born and raise Newarker and having been somewhat adjacent to the scene(many of these pioneers I’m friends/grew up with) and this video is well researched and respectful. Great job! Thank you for giving us the true credit Newark deserves for the sound. It’s been really tough with Philly credit for things we were doing 15 years ago
Enjoyed the video , yes the history is soo rich. Hopefully this will be part of people digging deeper because it goes deep.
Good stuff

Thank you goat, appreciate the feedback and all you've done
As a 30 year old from northern Jersey: I spent ages 16-23 blowing out my eardrums with doing questionable substances, in Jersey shore and NYC clubs, and going to EDM festivals.
It was a great time, but I think I’d die if I went that hard now. Also, I’m married so clubs become me waving my ring around and some not caring.
Jersey Club its the new wave in the brazilian rap! 2AM and I was searching about this, the quality and content of this video is amazing.
Shout out from Brazil
DOPE WATCH! DEF KEEP DIGGING AND DISCOVERING MORE JERSEY CLUB MUSIC!!
Imma researcher and microinfluencer in brazil, I speak about street music, and I don't know if u know this, but here the Jersey Club matched so Fcking perfectly with the Baile Funk and it's taking over as well, at this moment i'm making an intagram video based on this video, thanks a lot Kuhl!
Thanks man for bringing light to this genre. Over the years it’s only growing more popular. I’m not from Jersey specifically, but I’m from outside of Philly and they used to dance to this music all the time at my high school. This should have more views
love seeing all the pioneers showing love tho
Dope vid man 🔥🔥🔥
Yurrr! Dope video!
This has been so insightful for real 🔥💪
Thx g
Nice video! 3:40 0:43 my dad, (DJ Tameil) always tells me that it wasn't always sped up
great video ! i've really been enjoying jersey club recently, i wanted to learn more about the history/where the scene is at now & this video was perfect. went to a club event the other day here in the uk & one of the dj's was playing loads of jersey club-esque tracks and the crowd was loving it ! definitely going to be keeping an eye out for music coming out of jersey & baltimore, i'm excited to see how this genre will evolve in the next few years
Jersey club is amazing man, glad you enjoyed the video

Great video man! I produce a lot of jersey club and I learned a lot watching this video.
thx g, ur stuff fire glad i could give you some knowledge
Entertaining and informative. Ke a leboga ngwaneso 🤝🏿
I’m in Texas and I need to show them this so they can understand
It's wild in the last +10 years hearing that Brick City sound come in and out of popularity every couple years outside of NJ.
From different European producers using Jersey Club elements to create the Future Bass sound in the 2010s. (Cashmere Cat comes to mind) Now years since then, we're watching Philly Club get their own attention and all the BK Drill artists slowly going a Jersey Drill route - shit even UK borrowing back from what we borrowed in BK to make this new wave of Drill.
Upbeat club and dance music will always have a place. Look at Jungle & DnB making a big global comeback - influencing breakcore and hyperpop. Now, I'm seeing more footwork DJs on flyers out here and they're not visiting from Chicago.
While I sometimes thought us from NJ are a proud group about what outside doesn't think all that much of. While we always give props to that Bmore sound, I look at hearing that kick pattern all over the radio waves again as just history repeating itself.
Salute from 732!
AMAZING VIDEO ! GO DEEPER ITS SO MUCH MORE HISTORY !
amazing video!!⚡💫
thx g
Hi from Australia, I'm a music fan of many styles from disco to death metal and for me at the moment the last 6 songs bandmanrill has dropped this year are fully sick and I hope he keeps making jersey club drill for some time yet.
facts man
Great video
Fantastic video! Respect.
thank you!
Thanks for making this video i be getting high as hell and listen to jersey and all other types of clubs while being in the hellhole of sacramento
:25 I went to school with guy in adidas jacket. I’m from Irvington nj. We all danced and it’s crazy how tik tok adapts what we been doing for years I’m 33now
Man I am waiting for the day when 909 drill will be mainstream

Jersey club is the new wave!
W production W vid W Kuhl
thx g
I remember back in like 2014 Jersey Remixes was dumb heat especially that Ellie Goulding - Lights Sample 🔥🔥
Beautiful
thx g
Listen Roller Skating Rinks were still a thing for the youth, much more so than now, the DJs stayed playing these 🤣🤣🤣 in the ‘00s 3:33
Branch Brook used to go crazy!
@@BlxstFaMeyesss Branch Brook and up on 22!!
even jersey club has entered the k-pop industry which was introduced by a girl group called newjeans in its second ep, and in one of its title tracks entitled ETA using the Baltimore horn sound inspired by samir's theme
real one 👍🏾
thx
is someone else here because of Suchwita and unknowing of the Jersey Club Music named there 😬💜
Everyone always neglects to mention how edm and edm djs have been propagating the sound for a long time. Whether this has been appropriation or not is another question and the sound itself is almost another sub genre. Go back to the Jungle terror sound from Wiwek and others that used the jersey kick pattern or 90% of Marshmellos music. Skrillex is notable as someone from the scene who has actually given props. Its so dope seeing Jersey club getting the shine i feel its always deserved. Not from Jersey or even the states just super passionate about the genre. Dope vid!
Do another vid about 80s-90s jerz club
Can you make a history video on Baltimore!?
ill take a look at it
SubhanAllah u really snapped s2s

Nahhhh you did a great job!!!!
thx man
you did offend my leaving out skaiwater. but i forgive you
🤔
Hey man, glad you watched the video. Hope I managed to do the genre some justice in such a short time, know I probably left out a lot of stuff but really wanted to just show there is a rich history behind the genre
Rod Lee was the first to rap on a club track though.
BALTIMORE CULTURE SEAFOOD NEW BALENCE, DIRT BIKES & CLUB MUSIC!!! Even your Abuela know that! 🤷🏾♂️
Bmore and Philly club use that same kick pattern bro.
ik, i mentioned them but i was just keeping this video to jersey
Nobody thinks of those 2 guys when they hear Jersey Club 😅
You forgot about Chicago
Great video. But you probably need to study Baltimore club a little more.
Old bmore club don’t sound nothing like old jersey club I think both cities took influence from eachother
@@naeemjohnson4339historically inaccurate as it evolved directly from Baltimore. But I love what Jersey has done to evolve it. I think they are definitely influencing one another today with Philly as well. Good stuff!
Who came here from Rill’s story?
Check out my Jersey Club Remixes on my page!
Only negative thing I have to say is that you pronounced Newark wrong it’s pronounced Nork my boi other than that much respect
Thanks for making this. I wish you just spoke to the camera instead of all those random pictures. -Very distracting from what you’re actually saying.
Great video
