      Exactly what I thought ..the most selfless act on this single mom's part already 3 kids and she takes on another kid thats not hers & the teen gets pregnant instead of her shunning or scolding she welcomes her & makes space for her unbelievable. Beautiful lady! Only thing missing is a bassinet & take away a little even $1500 from landscape for washer/dryer because she's going to need that asap.

    I've lived in about 12 different places in Australia, and I've never had a backyard that big, and flat... That size property, and two of those shipping containers, would make a perfect home for me and my dog!

  • @ahikernamedgq
    @ahikernamedgq Před 7 lety +1

    At first I was pooh-poohing that deck. But, when I saw how it integrated into the timber wall and the painted backyard fence, that was really brilliant. This episode was so heartwarming. I wish that family so much well; all the feels.

    • @anonymousbagel3779
      @anonymousbagel3779 Před 5 lety +16

      Tru I’m going to build my own tiny house on my parents land, I’ve been researching a lot about building small houses from scratch and this seems just like what they do with pre built pc’s, they can be made themselves but you pay the premium if you can’t do it yourself

    • @garrachan1
      @garrachan1 Před 5 lety +5

      How? I would to do this on my own. If not then I'll pay you lol

    • @freakyflow
      @freakyflow Před 5 lety +3

      @@anonymousbagel3779 I have no idea where you live in the world However for fun sake lets say you live in a just outside a big city with many homes row after row First You will need to find out If your able to place a pc on your land It might require a pre designed foundation which a blue print plan will want to be seen and be able to get a permit for After you find out if your in a proper Building zone Will will also need your Gas and water / cable mains marked out And a building inspector step by step
      Take it from someone that took 4 years Just looking at land and finding the perfect spot and made money off buying the land and 1 phone call I turned 1.3 acres of wooded land from $22,000 into selling the wood Whole and pulp into $-9,600 off the cost of my land Even if i sell it for the same price i made a profit
      This spring i will rent a bobcat to remove dirt for my foundation. on to my framing and metal bars, crushed stone and concrete (M15) Plumbing for sewage / fresh water.. The 3 shipping containers will line up on iron beams slotted into the concrete ------$12,000
      Buying windows and doors, Wood for framing, Wiring, Electrical panel, connecting plumbing Which must be installed by a lic tradesmen for a inspection pass Welding cutting drilling On to spray foam (friend owns a company) dry wall Sink bathtub toilet shower tiles cabinets flooring Lighting heating cooling counter tops extra metal extra wood Glues screws putty paint etc etc -----$18,000 on better than avg material
      Then you slowly start moving stuff in ..When your done You have a home you built ..You know you not only saved on labor but also saved on shopping around for the type of look and quality you wanted
      On one side of my land i have rock formed by glaciers On the other side is a fresh water lake (melted glacier water )
      15 min walk and there is a spring water flow tested as "Better than bottled water"

    • @kieron82
      @kieron82 Před 5 lety +2

      @@freakyflow now to hook up the turbine to the spring or river for continuous power through turbine, then water pumped via ram pump for shower, sink, a bio digester for organic waste (poos as well) (mixed with water), slurry good for gardens, then methane collected runs gas water heater, cooking and heating as well as fuel for a car or generator...just some thoughts
      kind regards,

    • @dwaynebeagley5345
      @dwaynebeagley5345 Před 8 lety +11

      +JustTekkers I know it is not there job but the video is titled a granny flat for $50,000. This is a lie because when you add the costs of plumbing and electricity. This granny flat cost a lot more then $50,000. And as someone looking into building a granny flat this video is close to useless for the real information that I need.

      +Dwayne Beagley *"Their". Leave the landscaping out, that alone was almost 9k. So just buy a tree and some pebbles for the garden, grow your own lawn; and put the rest of the $ to plumbing + e. Problem solved. (It is not misleading, the garden is technically not part of the flat.)

    You guys need to stop saying "it's not fit for the mom and her baby" and "she doesn't look very pleased. She was probably very nervous and excited. People show excitement in different ways. And the woman said it might be for her daughters if they need somewhere to go and live or if her parents need to stay with them. It wasn't for sure going to her daughter and the baby. And if it was the mom would obviously get a crib and basic supplies for the baby.

    As a professional...I believe your heart 💜 is in the right place, however as you’re a Single Parent and raising your own independent, intelligent and smart ladies.…Please use caution when mentoring these awesome gals to NOT perpetuate a cycle that you I’m certain would not be done on purpose.
    Having Strong, Stable and professional men is critical to MENTORING them for future well rounded parenting... I come from a background that certainly identifies with the same problem.
    The project is absolutely GREAT, I’ve seen these same men complete something similar with these large containers..it’s my GOAL to attempt one. Thank you so much for posting this step by step process. 👍👏🏽💌🙇🏻‍♀️
