    I just love you guys, your sweetness, and your trust in God. As I saw your wife hugging and loving on the sheep and chickens, my first thought was her being the farm animal whisperer…lol. The sheep that walked over to her for some hugs while she was petting the other ones, shows that she is the same off camera as well as on camera. Your boys are so sweet and have such manners and respect for you. I heard Tim say one day that he didn’t want to discipline them on camera. I definitely agree with that. It would embarrass them later as they grow older, also, you’d have so many comments from strangers commenting about how right or wrong you were. May God continue to bless you to walk in wisdom and prosperity.❤Great job on the chicken coop!! Thank God you have dominion over Boaz!!!😊😊

    Hello I.A.G. Farm Family, Pastor Tim and Meagan, I was concerned about the chickens standing on the wire mesh and so I googled it for y'all in case y'all didn't know. That cage with the wire mesh floor should not even be for rabbits. Guinea pigs, chinchillas and rats weighing less than 500 grams and/or in residence less than 4 months may be housed on wire flooring. Rodents with litters must have solid flooring with bedding. This is what google said about chickens having to stand on that wire mesh. "when hens are forced to stand and sit on wire mesh, their feet can become sore, cracked and deformed. The hen's claws, which are designed to scratch vigorously, and thus stay short and blunt, become long, thin, twisted and broken." So please don't put the chickens in that small cage. They need a tiny house with a roof to protect from flying predators, a chicken run and perches for at night when sleeping. I hope y'all don't get offended by what I found on google. I apologize if so. Blessings always and love you guys.

    • @QueenBee7774
      @QueenBee7774 Před rokem +2

      My understanding is that the mesh bottom cage is used a week before chickens are slaughtered. It is designed to purge or cleanse them. This way can't eat bugs, Worms are there own feces.

    • @QueenBee7774
      @QueenBee7774 Před rokem +2

      For regular use you can make a stairway to the ground and put in wooden flooring where the mesh is.. I hope that what I'm saying makes sense!

    If you make a small door in the end of your coop and a ramp, your chickens should put themselves in at night. All you will need to do is shut the door. Don't forget nesting a nesting box! Nice job with the tools Megan! It is addictive building things yourself.

  • @kahughes1
    @kahughes1 Před rokem

    Chickens build nests in a chicken coop. The nests are large enough to cover the floor. They lay their eggs and sleep in there. Ramps are used for the chickens to walk down from the coop. Chickens spend most of their day outside of coops.

    I think you guys need to secure the chicken coop a little more. Like put some around the bottom, and some nesting boxes, and secure the top, so that predators can not raise it up. Put some over the top on the inside, so that if a predator knocks it over, the chickens don't just roll out!! I am not a farmer, but have watched a lot of you tube videos, where predators were able to get in. Just a suggestion.

    We have had some problems with predators with our chickens being that far away from the house, even though we have guard dogs. They do a good job but they can't be everywhere at the same time. Good job on the repairs 👏👌👍
