    As a teen this was my **superb** strategy for playing the werewolf game: The best thing was to stay pretty neutral (a.k.a. agreeing with the majority) and not be the first one to accuse others. If you yourself was accused of being the werewolf the absolute best thing was to immediately accuse another player. This would shift focus from you to the other person. If you were the only one accused and the time was running out people would vote to kill you in lack of a better option. The worst thing you could do was to defend yourself since everything you said could be used against you. I saw several players here making this mistake....

    • @error3821
      @error3821 Před 2 lety +39

      I’d say(from the villagers pov) to devise a logical plan to call out the werewolves and place reasonable suspicion onto them and then claim that the werewolves were going to kill u the following night because u knew too much. This psychology would likely leave u safe that night due to the suspicion being drawn onto them if they killed u. You’d just have to make sure u got a good idea of who the werewolves are tho.

    What hurts me is that among us has become so popular that the actual game of warewolves has been forgotten. This is the same concept except for the fact that the warewolves don't have special abilities. Not only that there's also not protectors or a seer (as example) I played this a lot in the past and it was actually super fun. (More fun than among us for several reasons)

    • @Blade23445
      @Blade23445 Před 2 lety +269

      @Kids e-Tube It's more fun because there's a lot more nuance. You have to learn the basic skills that you learn in among us but you also have to strategically use your role to not only protect yourself but also to protect others. Let's say the werewolf Jackal as an example. The jackal is a werewolf that gets to select anyone at all and if the jackal gets selected for death on the voting session then if the person they selected is still alive they can't be voted out as an example. There's also things within werewolves such as ability cards which give you special perks. Let's use the jackal again. As the jackal you aren't allowed to go into the werewolves den and select a person to kill until your discovered. Well there's one card that allows you to go in from the very beginning. I can't remember what it's name is but it's gauntlet something. Small little nuances such as that make it a much more enjoyable game than Among us ever was (especially since I've been playing both for years with Among Us having came out in september of 2018)

    Another strategy as a fox -- It said 'villagers must stay in their rooms when the werewolves hunt' but it didn't say anything about foxes. when four wolves appear, say one of them is a villager and we have to kill them. do whatever possible to make them think you're a wolf, and then kill them yourself. tell them they were probably the fox, and we already have the kill for tonight. the in the morning, they will all die for not killing someone. if it counts to kill another werewolf, tell them the next night you'll kill someone and go into their room and convince them you're a villager pretending to be a werewolf. then use their blood and put it all over their body and walk out and show the werewolves their bloody body. once the false kill is over, the wolves will go back to their rooms, and then would die for not killing anyone. then, the villagers would win, but then die because the fox would be alive. It's cold-blooded, but everyone will die anyways.
    Of course, If i'm wrong and the fox can't leave, then this plan is worthless.

    The collars have the dumbest kill mechanism ever. At least in the first part they blew up which more or less ensured death if they were activated, but here, there are a number of ways to beat the collars. 1. The motor has to be electric, because no other motor type could reasonably fit inside of that small of a casing, so submerging it in water from one of the sinks could probably just fry it right there. 2. As the video mentions, placing some solid object under the wire stops it from being effective because a motor that small can't generate much force. 3. Using just two solid bars one could leverage the two bars against eachother and generate enough force to rip the wire out of its socket fairly easily. 4. The property border likely works the same way as a dog's "electric fence", wherein the collar is activated upon passing a threshold that is created by series of pylons which activate the collar when it passes between them. Simply locating the pylons and removing them removes the barrier. 5. Any of the wolves could have used their knives to try and saw through the wire or disassemble the motor. 6. The small motor casing probably could have been smashed through brute force.
    And I'm sure there are more ways. Point is, I'm pretty disappointed the players didn't even attempt to try and break out of the collars, because they probably could have.

The other people could have assumed that the collar would go off after a werewolf visited them to confirm the death. The other 'kill' they might have been able to check was also from a collar going off. I don't think the villagers had solid proof that fighting back would have been penalized.

      Makes sense... if only the werewolves don't play it right.
      I mean, if I'm the werewolf, this would be the "easy" play. Mostly because it's also what's done in Town of Salem, where you ask the person the description of villager, like what's the 5th word in the description etc.
      AND SO, what people do is they pull up the wiki to see what's the description of villager, or whatever role they were imitating.
      Anyway, this is not a good play because you'd be the clear target.
      No matter how you play it out, you'd die.
      Here's why-
      If you immediately ask when the game starts, you have to remember, you can't vote on the first day. So you ask for info, and then night comes.
      Good wolves would immediately kill you for bringing up that idea.
      On the alternative that you ask the 2nd day, and then you get to vote... chances are, the wolves would've probably stolen the card of the innocent that they've killed, and so it won't work on them anymore.
      Best case scenario that they didn't... you get to kill 1 wolf, and then you get killed by the 2nd on the 2nd night.

It is such an hard role to play to be honest and requires a lot more thinking than a lot others. I liked it because of how challenging it is, how you feel like mastermind thinking every opportunity and putting a play but damn it was it hard... It never worked twice.
      that is why now I also love being the wildcard... It is not typical and common and it is fun to play having power without being in the risk a seer would be put in. You just play at your own side doing whatever you want and adapting even sometimes leading the situation without that much of a fear. It is the most fun cards for sure.

    • @DanteLovesPizza
      @DanteLovesPizza Před 2 lety +11

      I didn't watch the movie, but I don't understand the logic of "he's panicking and wants to leave because he's the werewolf."
      In this game, the only players that can actively kill another are the werewolves, so in probability theory, they're the least likely to be killed. To be killed, they have to be voted off, which is insane in probability if there's no evidence and if they're accused, it relies on whether the accuser (even if they're the seer) can get people to trust them. By this logic, the werewolves are the least likely to be killed, so if you were the werewolf, you're most likely the one who panics least. Besides being voted off, the only other way they can lose is if they fail to kill the fox before killing all the other players, and again, the probability of that is insane. 9 other players, you're assuming you don't kill the fox AND they don't get voted out before the 8 other players, I'm not even going to try to work that out, but you're looking in millionths of a chance here.
      By no logic should a werewolf panic in theory. The ones most likely to panic would be the villagers, because their fate is left in others' hands, however, if they're a little smart, they're also pretty unlikely to die, therefore, again, should not panic. All they have to do is get the "special" players to confess, and they'll be safe, because the werewolves will target those players first and by probability, voting is unlikely to land on you, as long as you don't look suspicious.
      The "special" roles are the only ones who should panic, because if anyone finds out their role, they're probably the next to die, yet they have to tell someone, because they need to be protected (by the bodyguard and by votes) to play their role to win, but they can't let villagers died and lose a vote, all while being afraid that the person they tell is a werewolf who might kill them. Not to mention, to a certain degree, they have to confess anyway, because they need to reveal information, such as which live or dead player they checked. There's a lot of contradiction with their roles, so if anyone should panic, it should be the seer in medium since they need to reveal their ability, thus role. That's why it was stupid for people to confess they're a seer, regardless of whether they're actually it.
      The bodyguard can't protect themselves and can't be protected, so technically they're the most vulnerable, more so than the villagers, so they have a right to panic as well, but they're still not the one who is most likely to die.
      The fox in theory should panic the most, because by probability, they are the most likely to die. For either team to win, the fox has to die, therefore both teams will want to get rid of them, yet they have absolutely no power to stop that. Assuming no one confesses to a role, your odds of being voted out are, as I said above, very low, however, if the seer discovers you, which only starts out at 1/10 chance (since voting takes place first), you're dead, if the werewolf kills you, which only starts out at 1/9 or 1/8 chance (since the voting takes place first), you're dead, and this chance gradually increases every single round before the game ends, so the probability of these combined make their odds of survival the lowest among all the roles.

      @@elj955 Originally the game was called Mafia, and was designed by a Russian psychology student in the 80's, using a deck of playing cards (red cards for innocents, black cards for mafia). Over time the game spread, was altered, spread more, got altered more, got re-themed in the 90's to be about werewolves since they're more culturally relevant, and eventually picked up by multiple game designers making their own small tweaks and variants on the idea (sometimes small twists like Ultimate Werewolf, other times some very big changes). Werewolves of Miller's Hollow came out in 2001, although it looks like there's some pretty significant differences from the original Mafia game, and I'm not sure how much of that was the game naturally being altered as it spread without any "official" version, and how much of that was created and codified by these designers.
      (Some differences with the original Mafia game: the villagers can execute as many people as they want during the day, but each individual person needs a majority vote from the group instead of just one vote from everyone, most votes dies; mafia vote for their victim in secret and the victim only dies if all mafia players vote for the same victim; players get to know how many mafia are alive after each "night" phase and who they tried to kill even if they voted for different people)

      Multiple variations at this point, Among us is another variation that is straight forward.
      I also remember this game (werewolf, town of salem, mafia) was popular with forums as they did something similar with this as a day/night cycle each day.

    Wait, wouldn’t the bodyguard protecting the victim mean the werewolves all die? Since they didn’t kill anyone.

    Here's a foolproof way to win this game as a civilian:
    1. Tell everyone that when your door is opened at night, you have to immediately scream with all your lungs to tell who are the werewolves.
    2. Put flour or every single knife and mark them with everyone's fingerprint, then everyone gives each of their knives to other players' rooms, going in a clock-wise/counter clock-wise direction. Any knife that has been tempered with in any way (has blood, missing flour, fingerprints don't match, misplaced by 1mm) will be considered to be a werewolf.
    Werewolves aren't going to kill you night 1 because you're the smartest and most careful in the team and they know that you'll be one who will be the most prepared and shout everyone's name the loudest of all.
    Bonus tip 3:
    If a werewolf goes into your room and are about to kill you, jump out of the window and pretend to cross the line and that you get strangled to death. Then when there's only 2-5 minutes left until the game ends, run back to your room, take a chair to defend yourself and scream as hard as you can that you're still alive. Werewolves can't kill you anymore cause you're defending yourself and they don't have enough time to go through your barricade, making them kill someone else.
