It's been a year since i watch Marty on guitar jamz. I did not even know this channel existed until now and I'm glad I found it. Ya know i remember those days of me spending countless hours on something like this, trying to perfect all srv songs, his techniques, everything about him, even the way he walks, now im realizing i need to move on because ive learned all i can from srv without being him, scouring the internet for anything, mostly live footage tho, but I'd like to thank Marty for teaching me a couple things along the way!

I grew up with my Dad jamming SRV all day every day. I've never tried to learn anything until this video. I was able to get 90% after about an hour. I truly appreciate your style of teaching!

A real lekka 12 bar, makes the sound of single coil pickups really shine. Come to think of it my random little jams of 12 bar blues come close to those notes. So I will be able to learn the rhythm ricks and lead licks quite easily. Thank you Marty.

Marty, I mean this in the best way possible but you are not the "best" guitar player on the web. And by that I mean you don't have the crazy shred licks, million note per second solos etc etc. BUT what you do have is an admirable passion for music, an awesome teaching technique and an innate ability to put out guitar content people WANT to see. Hey Marty, I'd love to learn "Don't lie to me", the Albert King SRV version, from In session.... Just a note I know you have had to have listened to that album and or have seen that episode of that show..... Has anyone ever said anything about his skills as a rhythm player.... You get to see a lot of it during this performance.... My opinion is that he just may have been one of the greatest rhythm players ever also.
