    I agree with you, WW is an awesome program. To me it's the healthiest way to eat better overall, without food restrictions. If you work WW as a lifestyle change and not just a short term restricted eating plan to lose weight, I think most will see great results. It took me many years to learn this, but I'm a WW Lifetime member for about 4 years now. The best thing about WW is you can eat anything as long as you count your points and it's within your daily point allowance! And with all the zero point foods you can eat lots of food even if your out of points, which encourages you to make really healthy foods choices.

    This is my fourth time on WW over my adult life (I’m 62)and the first time I decided not to do the meetings. I only use the app, I like it so much more not doing the meetings. My weigh day is on Wednesdays and it’s been just about 10 months since I’ve restarted WW, so far I’ve lost 44.5 lbs. I track every meal and snack. I started on the green plan and just recently after watching your video on the rice bowls and the one on the grocery trip to Aldi’s and Trader Joe’s, I switched to blue just for a change. Where I live we don’t have Trader Joe’s but we have two Aldi’s, so I was able to find some of the items you mentioned there and I found somethings at Walmart, that I wouldn’t have even looked at before like the Buffalo chicken dip, which I love. Thank you for your videos they are helpful.

    Using it as a tool rather than a program is such good advice! That’s how I see it too. I feel more freedom now doing WW then ever before. I can eat anything! The tracking holds me accountable for what I eat and that really helps me.

I tried WW so many times andright now I’m suppose to have gastric bypass but since I’m self paying and only will lose about 60 pounds I’m rethinking since the cost is 20K. I’m seriously thinking of doing WW. Again, thank you for your videos 🤗

    For me WW has improved my life and is a tool. When people say it’s expensive, I think that’s relative. I know people who get a Starbucks coffee every morning. Just a few days of that equals the cost of WW. I use online only and it works for me. Finding people like you really helps me keep going. While not on WW, my husband has been motivated to lose 30 pounds since March/April while I have lost 15. This is doable and we are learning better habits.

    I just wanted to thank you for mentioning the barcode scanner. I had no idea it existed! I'm on green and have lost 20 lbs in 3 1/2 months just using the app without meetings or other interactive parts. I find I'm eating more reasonable portions, more healthfully in general, and I don't eat the artificially fat-free or sugar-free zero point foods, because I don't care for them or think that they're a habit I want to get into, but I have done things like switch from sour cream to fat-free Greek yogurt. Your videos are helpful and encouraging. Thank you!

    Oh my goodness yes!!! There's some junk people on WW eat. My coach has told me to focus on eating food that's actually food! WW is what you make of it, but there's too many who "game" it. I'm sticking with it because it is retraining my brain to make much better choices. I was anorexic and bulimic as a teen, but then got pregnant and had to eat. Her Dad took off when she was 15 months old and depression led to a big gain I've never able to lose. I'm FINALLY learning to actually have a healthy relationship with food. I do track both in WW and in MyFitnessPal because my coach can see it remotely. It works! The scale is moving the right direction. My hubby and I love you and Adam. Thanks for sharing your journey with us.

The problem is I have a mental thing about using the weeklies. And when I just do daily, I am eating less than 1000 calories which has messed up my metabolism. I use to snack on junk and eat dinner. Now three good healthy filling meals and fruit or veggie snacks. I’m full lol But also moving moving moving. But eating so much more. My mental health has already improved. I’m sleeping better. I’m less stressed. I’m coping better. And being diagnosed with mental health issues, is a way bigger deal than what the scale says.

    Enjoy your videos very much. Have lost 25 lbs in 5 months with WW which puts me right on my personal goal. 5 lbs per month and trying to not lose more than that in a month. I'm 63 and have 27 more to lose, content to keep losing at a slower pace. This time I'm working to being able to maintain my weight lose, sort of like the losing part is an apprenticeship but maintenance is going to be the real job. Have lost weight in the past but not able to keep it off. Most days I use all my dailies, I will usually use most or all of my weeklies. Sometimes it's only a few in a day and there have been a few days when WOW, I've ate every weekly I have coming. We go out to dinner, have meals with friends, and I still make my husbands favorite casseroles. I attend meetings when I'm in a area with a studio, it's worth it to attend 1 or 2 (will let you do free at least 1, not sure about more). Weighing in is a very private thing, your weight is not visible to anyone but the receptionist (it will show on your app the next time you log in) they are very conscious about privacy at check in. Have made many really fun 30 minute friends at the WW meetings and since we travel year round have been able to try many different studios. If you do on line, the virtual meetings are fantastic (you don't have to talk or have your face displayed) but the tips are valuable. I eat anything I want. Today's lunch was 2 cups french onion soup and dinner, 2 slices (1/4) breakfast pizza's from Aldi's. Enjoying a fresh peach as I type this. If WW is not in the budget there is a free app that will do the same as WW called iTrackBites, they call points bites and you can pick your program, including a keto base there.

    WW is so much easier to follow today than anytime ever! I first joined in 1980, became a lifetime member. I could never sustain my weight, I was not knowable enough I guess. Came across this old video - I love this. I see so many videos about calories and macros but it is so overwhelming. I struggle with disordered eating and WW really allows me to just minimize tracking and focus on healthy, balanced eating. I can't eat artificial sweeteners so I just focus on whole foods/zero point foods and ignore all the noise and marketing a lot of influencers do. I think Built Bars are gross lol.

  • @itsbonakim
    @itsbonakim Před 2 lety +1

    It’s important to find a program that works for you. WW helped me eat healthier and be in maintenance with minimum effort. HOWEVER it didn’t help me lose extra fat. (I am in 25-26% body fat so it’s harder for me to lose the extra with any program. ) I agree it’s a good tool, if you’re super serious about fitness and want to get to top top top physique, I think tracking calories and macros would work better with a bit more fine tuned bulking/ cutting/ carb cycling etc. obviously that’s a lot more work and can trigger eating disorder.

    I started Carnivore July 3rd 2022, switched to Keto after about 6 months, and I lost 106 pounds in just over a year! I had about 50 more pounds to lose, but then I stalled out for a few months, and then started to gain weight as I became frustrated with the stall. So after gaining 6 pounds back 3 weeks ago I decided to join WW. I am on The diabetic plan, and I have lost 14 pounds in 3 weeks! I am eating mostly low carb, but if I want something like a baked potato, or beans, or rice, I have them once in a while. I am honestly loving this plan! Most days I eat 20 grams or less total carbs, so that’s really good for my diabetes. I don’t eat processed food, I do eat a lot of veggies…I eat one of those chopped salads every single day, but don’t use the dressing and toppings that come with, I just make my own with avocado oil and lemon or lime juice. Anyway, I am really enjoying your content. It helps me so much to see how you are eating on the plan. Thanks for such good content!❤

  • @LindaC616

    Hope you had an amazing birthday! Did you go somewhere where you could rock the red dress?
    I quit the meetings years ago. The location was depressing, it was at dinner time, there was no individual help (there would be 50 people there) just a "keep at it, slugger!" kind of platitude.
    If I'm on my own, better to do it online, less stress in my life trying to fit another appt into my schedule. Even now, when I'm eating cleaner, I still have trouble with processed food "hacks" (except for queso blanco, that stuff rules, lol!)
    I don't use my weeklies still. Maybe for one meal out, I'll go over by a few. But I've still never ended a week with less than 30. I should probably work at that.
    I do have a friend who has always devised workouts that would make up for her overeating. If I am going to try dipping into weeklies, then I should probably turn off that feature on the app.
    I think I also need to focus more on what I should be adding in (fruits, veggies, fiber), as qell as what I'm NOT eating

    I actually feel this program encourages me more to eat fruit, vegetables, and lean protein than counting calories.

    Hi, I just watched your pros and cons video. Got me thinking of more pros and cons. I found it very difficult to stay with the plan while quarantining and gained some of my weight back. How did you handle quarantine? I was also turned off by the way ww laid off some of their employees. They did not handle it in a nice way. I went as far as canceling my membership. I know others felt the same way. What is your opinion? I signed up a couple of weeks ago and having trouble doing it on my own just using the app.

      @NikkiGetsFit  Před 2 lety +2

      Because I already work from home, quarantine didn't affect that negatively because not much changed with my schedule but I know its been tough on so many! I don't really know about ww laying off their employees but I would definitely be interested in hearing more about that! you've got this!!

    I wish you would write a cookbook. I am so on the fence. I have lost weight on WW a number of times. I am just not good with the App thing

    • @NikkiGetsFit
      @NikkiGetsFit  Před 2 lety +2

      It definitely takes getting used to! What helped me the most with the app was using a lot of the same ingredients at first so I could really learn all the sp values and a lot were just saved in my frequently tracked foods on the app!

    I've been using ww app for 4 months now and I still don't understand fit points 🤷🏽‍♀️ I'm down 17lb so I must be doing something right but have no idea what to do with the fit points.

    Hi honey, I really really love your videos, and here have a question, My husband and I use WW blue together, today’s the fifth day. WE weighed in this morning…why did he lose 7 pounds, but I didn’t lose even one??! He ate more than his points allowed these past four days, and I didn't cheat at all. I just ate a lot of fruit and drank a lot of water, but fruits are 0 points, right?? Why didn't I lose weight???

  • @tiffertoes86

    I'm one month into ww and I'm struggling so hard with being hungry all of the time :( I also get so mad because I feel like I'm being "punished" for eating things I consider healthy (for instance, Cesar salad or turkey burgers that aren't 99%fat free). I hope I can get into a flow as time goes by, but God it is frustrating right now

    • @NikkiGetsFit
      @NikkiGetsFit  Před 2 lety +5

      When we started WW, I said no matter what I didn't want to feel hungry all the time! I really focus on eating all my weeklies but using them for high protein snacks as well as filling up on zero point foods. With the rice bowls I make, I am able to pack them with so many veggies (but also rice, meat and cheese or sauce) and that way they keep me soo full but are still low point! I definitely understand what you mean about not always making the healthiest choice but to make it a lifestyle change its all about balance so you can still enjoy yourself with those things! You've got this!!!👏

    It is so funny I prefer the fit points to the weeklies. I feel like I earned those points through activity so I deserve them. So I eat the fit and not the weeklies.

      You deserve to eat and you deserve food, always! Feeling like you need to earn your good can develop into disordered eating mindset.

    I feel like everyone has to find their stride when it comes to weight loss. I have friends that swear by Keto but for me, it’s just not sustainable. I think WW in my experience has been the most sane “diet plan” (yikes I hate that word). I’ve had some health nut friends knock WW because you can easily live off of fat free “fake” foods and lean meat, lose weight and not actually be eating healthy…but to that I say …”mind your own damn business “ 💁🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♀️. For real. Don’t be the broccoli police. Nobody likes that guy! The best part of WW for me is that nothing is off limits. You can’t tell me “you can’t have this” because I will automatically rebel. That’s just me.
    Oh and I break The occasional ww rule to make it work for me. Do what you gotta do to make it work
