Are British Zimbabweans Living In The Diaspora Really British? 🇬🇧🇿🇼

  • After many years in the diaspora and starting to think of retirement back home ,we ,(my wife and I) started to brainstorm different ideas.
    We settled on free range organic chicken farming! 🥚🐣🐓😍. We will also grow organic vegetables.
    We have lived in the United Kingdom for just over 20 years with our five children who were all home educated.
    While living in the U.K we became very aware of food standards because food was not the same as what we had left behind.
    Very early on we started buying organic food and wild fish. We would like to continue on this path of healthy eating and growing our own food.
    The chickens will be pasture raised. We are implementing a permaculture farming method.
    We will also be using the regenerative agriculture approach to help the soils get all the necessary nutrients.
    We bought the land which had lots of gum trees which took a lot of nutrients out of the soil. We need to add these back using the regenerative agriculture approach.
    We will use this platform to share information we learn along the way.
    There was a pond on the farm which has dried out but we need to revive it as part of permaculture farming.
    What is regenerative agriculture?
    Soil health and the regeneration of topsoil (the surface layer of soil) are the main priorities of regenerative agriculture. Going well beyond organic farming, regenerative agriculture is a system of agricultural practices and principles that increases ecosystem health, improving nutrients in foods, which almost become a by-product of the planet’s restoration. Soil Heroes
    What is permaculture?
    It involves taking care of the earth and working with it. We will be using systems like rain capture and solar systems. Trying to be off grid as much as possible.

    Unfortunately, some of our brothers and sisters in diaspora will never come back home because they have no plan B.
    Some are
    Tied to Mortgages/loans, that will take many years to finish paying. Some have children who are still in schools, colleges, and universities and worried about their welfare.
    Coming back home without any source of income with their families will be a disaster.
    Now just to add to what our brother has mentioned in the video;
    1. If you have managed to save a handsome amount of money, you can start a business right away in Zimbabwe. Real estate, poultry, goats. Beef/milk Cattle, hot culture, etc
    2. Buy a piece of land and build claster homes and put them on rent. This will give you a good income and at the same time one of the those claster units will be your retirement home.
    3. Some people prefer to build a luxurious homes for retirement and perhaps will have enough money to start a business, or perhaps your pension may be adequate to sustain you for the rest of your life.
    There are opportunities, but you need skills like, vision/strategy, leadership, adaptability, marketing, creativity etc...
    Please remember you will always be treated as a second class citizen in a foreign land.

I have mixed family members and friends but I have been discriminated against badly here as a white person so it happens to an immigrant regardless and depending where you live. I have friends of other races and nationalities, equally hard workers and good people, who came here legitimately and they are being looked at sideways which is so unfair. You may be missing a point. I do not think it’s a small minority. Mass migration has real consequences because countries do not have infinite resources. Many people may be upset and angry but just do not want to risk their jobs etc by going into the streets.
    The impact of these riots is that politicians always respond to the voters and they will tighten immigration pathways. Too many countries and rulers not doing their jobs and outsourcing their mediocrity to other countries.
    We are not talking about legal migration but illegal uncontrolled migration in the millions. National budgets are enacted on the basis of estimated population sizes so when there is constant increase in population something has to give. The poor on welfare are the first to feel the pinch due to reduced or vanished benefits. Laws that sometimes favor illegal migrants over citizens do not help. For example plenty of homeless citizens here in the US while illegal migrants are living in hotels. Make it make sense. No to violence but all countries should do better for own citizens.

      In my opinion it's capitalism. Many rich people evade taxes and put their money in offshore accounts. They gamble our taxes on stock markets and give each other contracts. The result is the rich get richer. To cover their back, they talk about immigration as if it's the problem.

    • @muchit3629
      @muchit3629 Před měsícem

      @@ruwaorganic The rich do not mind cheap labor so I am not sure if them not paying taxes has a lot to do with the protests. These protests are organic by ordinary people. The people protesting by and large are poor people who tend to be affected the most as a big pool of unregulated migrants tend to have a downward pressure on wages.
      That said, these Western countries have done a lot of exploitation and damage to poor countries so they should be able to deal with migrants. But the best solution is just to make our own countries better.

    The issue in the UK is likely to get worse because taxes are expected to go up. History usually dictates that when living standards go down, and people are taxed/made poorer, then unrest starts. A specific UK example is the peasants revolt of the 1300s. That was started, to some extent, because of a poll tax that was imposed. 1920s/30s Germany is another example, Germany's economy was destroyed in 1929, the Nazis gained support because of that (to a large extent). South Africa is also an example of a country where some people are being made poorer and unrest is caused. The mad thing, in the UK at least, is the leadership don't seem smart enough to understand this.

    We just want a points based immigration system. We want legal migration and if you come here legally you are very welcome and we are welcoming people. The problem is, as with a lot of Europe, crimes rates have gone up with mass migration. It's just a fact, I'm not pointing the finger at any group and maybe there are econical factors that go along with crime and migration but it's a statistical fact. Unfortunately for the good people who come here for opportunity, there are people who come here to commit crime, or they are fleeing their own country because they are ciminals.
    Adding to this, can you see it from our perspective? As you teach your children who are raised here, go to school here, you teach them that they are not British. A country needs a common goal to work and we can all work together but if you teach your children that they do not belong, or they are different from the rest of us, how can we share a common goal or value. You would want people to integrate into Zimbabwea, surely. Why not properly integrate here?
