About the group:
Johanne Morissette Daug Amon-Lamar (/mɒrɪˈsɛt/ MORR-ih-SET; born June 2, 1996), known professionally as Morissette and frequently also referred to as Morissette Amon, is a Filipina singer, songwriter, producer and former actress. She first rose to prominence when she was the runner-up on TV5's Star Factor at the age of 14. In 2012, she made her professional stage debut in the Repertory Philippines stage adaptation of Disney's Camp Rock in the role of Mitchie Torres. She competed in the first season of ABS-CBN's The Voice of the Philippines in 2013, where she became part of Sarah Geronimo's team. She became a recording artist of Star Music in early 2014 and released her first album, titled Morissette, in March 2015. In 2017 she was called "The Next Big Diva".
Morissette's vocal type is a lyric soprano with five octaves and four notes (G♯2 - C6 - D8), making her the singer that has the widest known vocal range in the Philippines

I been following her for over 5yrs now along with SOHYANG from South Korea and the Western industry is doomed with these two around because they are just streets ahead of them all, they are not only singers they are out and out performers and entertainers, the vocals are the cherry on top, no smutty or trashy outfits to distract to how shit you are, just out and out excellence 🇬🇧👌🔥❤️.

I like your approach in reacting, you not only tackle the technical aspect of the singing and performing but you also discuss the rationale on why such singing techniques or artistic choices are being done by the performer. In the case of Morissette, her use of dynamics, build-up and progression, and the use of squeaks and growls, and the contrasts between her low, delicate notes and her belts, is to convey the story and message of the song, not just to sing it, but she lives up to the character and portrays the emotions, such as the "hopeful regret" you mentioned, and the pleading and desperation. How can somebody love so much, and not be loved as much in return? the pain one feels inside in that situation would just want to burst out, and Morissette effectively channeled that by her masterful delivery, with her cries on "why can't it be like that? i want to shout it from the rooftop!", and culminating in that "cause I'm yours!" belt, saying straightforwardly to the other person, "I'm all yours, can't you see I've given all myself to you, why can't you do the same to me?". Morissette, with her eyes closed in many of her performances, is into the character of her songs, and is telling the story, and we are just captivated and enthralled by her.

Wonderful reaction, Cedric! I think more than any other reactor, you really dive into Mori's storytelling and emotional connection to the lyrics. Obviously, she is one of the most technically proficient female vocalists out there but it's her storytelling that really defines her artistry. You can't help but be drawn into her performance. Add to that her palpable joy in performing and it's clear she has the whole package. You've reacted to most of her "greatest hits" online. She had a series of live performances released in the last couple of months that really show her mastery and versatility. Check out her performance of "Ang Huling El Bimbo" to see rockstar Mori, then follow that up with "Imagine More" to see Disney Princess Mori. I live in Albuquerque, so I am planning to see you in Something Rotten. Fun fact: Morissette's husband, Dave Lamar (he's Filipino-American and a pretty good singer himself) spent some time growing up in Albuquerque.

Her voice is so gorgeous and i love this song so much!! i don't think you've ever reacted to Little Mix who are the original singers of this song but i really think you'd love them and especially their live singing which is fantastic and their acapella sessions...

You did not notice the "vocal squeaks"... Not many singers can do that. It is a novel technique that, if done right, contributes to the overall quality of the performance....vocal squeaks can be done by singers who have full control of their "whistle note range"....not a lot of singers can do that.
I’ve talked about them several times in the past with her, so I decided to focus on other techniques she was using on this one - but you’re absolutely right!
