Michel Piccoli magnifique lecteur.

Wish we could take Céline as a constantly exaggerated speech. An out of bounds monologue, and nothing else. But you'll find real hate underlying it all. Inspite its undeniable sense of humour, Voyage au Bout de la Nuit is what it is. It's a hate spreader book. And then I went easily tired with it. After let's say a hundred and fifty pages the way he writes, became tiring, dull. Although I liked it here and there, although I could agree with some things he was saying, it became too much of the same. It's an excessive book, but it's a good work and has its merit. And like it. But for a while. And can't take it too seriously. Am all time conscious it is an excess as a book. If I think it's deliberately excessive, I can appreciate it better. Though then I won't take it seriously. So it may create also this problem to any reader. If we take it seriously, then it's a hate spreader no doubt. If it is just kind of an exaggerated, out of bounds speech, then it is too long for being just that. Too long for being just a sort of joke, either. The worst of it all is that it tires, it becomes boring after the half of it. Took me a bit of an effort to finish it. I love French language, besides being mine. But let's say I prefer the use Julien Gracq does of French in Au Château d'Argol that what Céline does with his Voyage. Had Céline made a shorter book with that stuff and I would loved it much more, I think. As it is, it's an abuse of the reader patience. Still am interested in reading his D'un Château l'Autre. But the same than am interested in reading Gracq masterwork. Actually am more interested in Gracq. Nowadays we all know too well what Céline had to say. Am more interested in Beauty and Ethics than in anger and rage. And think there can't neither be no doubt, that Céline was a bitter and nasty man with a hate and out of bounds speech. 🤔🙄😳🙏
Perfectly true. But Dun château l'autre is about a doctor looking for money, boring too.
