Abandoned 1950's Motel - W/ Cabin Full Of Toys

- Back in the 50's and 60's, resorts were a dime a dozen and were popular among vacationers on the east coast. For those who weren't into the big lavish resorts or wanted something more affordable came to places like this. This 1950's motel with private cottages was the perfect get away for people who just wanted a break from everyday life. Although far from luxurious and what it lacked in amenities, it made up for with peace and quiet while still being close to home. So come along with me as we explore this old property to see what still exists today, in 2019. Enjoy

Happy Friday
TGIF😁
JPVideos 🙏💜😊
Happy Friday to you too
TGIF! Hell yes. Been a long week.
I had a lot of those toys growing up lol but for how well the white house is sealed up I thought the inside would be in a little better condition. Looks like a nice place. It reminds me of a house my gram used to rent and take the family to when I was growing up so thanks for bringing back those memories! Another great video as always JP and congrats on 100k!
Thanks beck. I wish i was able to get inside that main house, but im not a roofer lol.
You two make a great team. I was amazed how trashed that place had become in such a short period. I can almost smell the mold and mustiness on the video. Once again, great work guys, risking life and limb and as always a great t-shirt by Mike.
😊
I, so would of stayed there. The room with records looks like someone lived there full time.
That was my thought as well
For a motel who’s been abandoned in the mid 90s it’s sure has decayed a lot in such a short time.
I was born in the early 50's and we had an old wringer washer (no dryer) and we hung our clothes outside. Any toys you find from that era are worth money. I sure remember listening to the 8 tracks. It's such a shame that so many of the homes from my birth year and older are either decaying or no longer standing. It just breaks my heart to see this. Thank you so much for sharing!
Love the property. Bet it was really an awesome place to visit back in the day. Too bad it is no longer usable.
I think your timing for when it closed is spot on. My son's were born in 93 and 96 and had some of those toys. Specifically the Winnie the Pooh. He was part of a set that had a boat that all the characters would fit into for storage.
Those boarded-up structures were likely done so well before the damages.
Great video. In its day, I imagine it wpuld be amazing, and peaceful. I wiuld have loved ataying there. I love these videos. I felt as though I were right there. Thank you JP. God bless you and your family.
Same to you vicki
Loved this!! I would still stay there!! Give me a tent and I would be good. Nature reclaiming! Oh and the trees beautiful! One of the trees you walked by had holes all over it...wood peckers having a feast on the insects living inside it.
I saw the tree with the holes in it, too! Beautiful!
That was the quickest and best 51 minutes of my Saturday morning! You had me at Old 50’s Motel but then so many cool old relics I didn’t expect to see. I didn’t want the video to end! Thank you! Can’t wait for the next!
Aww thanks jamie
I grew up during the 60s in New England, there were a lot of these motel/cabins around then. This place looks like it was pretty nice with the owners house and the pool. Plexiglas and plywood looks like they tried to preserve it for awhile but the trees had other plans. Good video, cool place. Thanks, JP
JP as usual great video these are they type we like to see the ones time has hidden from us lots of reminders from the past personal posestions left it's a shame it's been forgotten about you and Mike keep your walking boots on 🙂
You so made my night, what an awesome find! Would of definitely stayed here!! Nature, bridge, pond, pool, swing, etc. Love to swing. Had to be relaxing peaceful place. Thanks JP you bring the BEST!!!! :)
Glad to hear it made your night.
wow i enjoyed watching and you know that Troll Doll With Jewel Belly Button is from 1990'S from a special collection of the Treasure Trolls collection, almost as popular as a cabbage patch doll back then ❤😊👍thanks to the viewer that told you about this place ❤and thanks for sharing ❤👍😊
The second building seems more like a residence than a hotel cabin. All of the appliances and personal items are more than just what a visitor would bring.
That's what I thought too. Maybe that was where the "innkeeper" lived? The cabins may have turned into small homes rented out to individuals in an attempt to keep the place going and that particular home was where the people lived that ran the place and did all the maintenance, etc. My mind can come up with all kinds of possibilities. HA
My parents and I stayed in a lot of these type of motel in the 40s and 50s. We traveled from Los Angeles to Portland Oregon every summer. These motels were typical for the time.
I would have stayed there back in the day. I just hope you checked well for ticks when you were finished. Thanks for sharing your work!
Yes I would stay there. Beautiful area to get peace and quiet from our regular lifestyles. Great vacation getaway!
I'd really like to stay there if it was still functioning! Especially with the pond, that had to be beautiful when up and running. Also, I love being in nature.this was a great find!! The swings were cool, too! Jp, the end was hilarious when something fell in the water...jeez that scared me. Lol
Darn frog lol
This would have been a nice place to spend a weekend to just get away and relax and recharge.
I really enjoyed this video, thank you so much. Some fantastic footage. Great colour and detail. Stunning vivid greens and orange rusts. Absolutely beautiful stills at the end. A great find 👍🏻
You rock bev! Thanks for leaving an awesome comment.
Love the location. Good grief that basement!!!!! So much stuff. Some one went to a lot of trouble putting up plexiglass...I love the rock foundation under that place. I wonder how they kept water in that pond. The stone walls wouldn't hold the water. I would live out there in a heartbeat. Maybe an elderly person stayed in that piled up room - may of been a relative of the owners. Very interesting video. Remnants of the good old days.
Hi guys! Such a great explore. I would have loved to stay here back in it’s heyday. I bet kids took their bikes and had a blast riding through the trees. This was open when kids actually played outside! Lol I can just smell all of the charcoal grills fired up. I love all the same things you did...the wishing well, pond, swimming pool, ect. Thanks for showing us this cool place!! Awesome video and photo montage!! Stay safe out there!!👍🏻
Thanks tara. How times have changed with kids.
Seeing things decaying, is a sad, sobering reminder.
A reminder that "nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky."
Thanks for getting all icky and presenting another great video. 😁
Love the black/white shot with the blue pool! Sublime!! ❤️
💙
I would have loved to stay in a cabin like that when I was young. You are great at helping me through this pandemic. I can explore with you. Makes me feel better that I can not get outside. God bless you and thank you for the wonderful videos.
Jp I watch all your videos and give you a big thumbs up cause I enjoy all of them . Thanks for all your hard work. You recently had a great one of a huge abandoned mansion with a Circular strange tub with sky lights huge place loved that video. I’m from eastern pa. So I also enjoyed the fall drone video too. I am getting your notifications FYI. Don’t stop what you do please. I like your live feeds too. You are brave going into the woods at night u are nuts!!!
Great find!! Mother Nature always has her due.
A place like this would be my ideal holiday in it's time, perfect, not a big hotel and your own space, not too big or too small, what a fantastic find, love it, what a shame it's all been left to rot, fantastic video
It’s amazing what people just leave. There’s so many places that will take used things and resale it.
I loved the pond, bridge and the woods it is located in.
This was one of the best! Loved it, loved it!
Ty Terry
Awesome video! I could have explored in that basement for hours. Thanks for sharing!!!
Those rafter boards are 2x8's. My house has them built 1940.
I am redoing mine and would love to get hold of that place. Those are perfectly preserved. Worth some money.
If I was younger, I would strip old places to sell and reuse, better than letting it rot.
People who have no money like myself, it is a blessing to find such things.
If those were in Missouri, I would have them.
All those cinder blocks laying around. I could use for my new foundation. Amazing how much gets wasted. Shame people dont recycle this stuff.
I would definitely be recycling alot of that stuff.
As far as I am concerned, it is all abandoned even if it is locked. Unlivable. No one cares anymore. Owner probably old or dead.
Haha, I love Mike's shirt! Omg glad you pointed that out!
Hey JP. I really enjoy your videos. You do such a good job of filming. Sometimes it seems that you read my mind because you zero in on something that intrigues me. I also appreciate the respect you have for the places you explore and the past inhabitants. Coupled with your sense of humour, your videos are a positive addition to my viewing experience. Please dont stop.
Thank you Victoria
Unreal to watch. So old little cabins, thanks Jay and Mike.
Such a beautiful place! So sad that places like these are left to rot - there are still so much life left in it. I would love to live there.
Cool find. I love when nature reclaims what man has left behind, especially in the case of the pulley with the tree grown around it. The pool area too, you know the pine trees on the side were planted with intent and nowntheyve taken over with barely a trace of the concrete pool surround covered by moss and leaves. Thanks for the video!
This is what i like. Little to no vandalism or graffiti. Just nature taking back what once was hers.
I love seeing old toys, it's always my favorite part.
Well i bet you enjoyed this one
That must have been a nice peaceful place back in the day ! awesome find and great pictures and video JP!
Thanks for sharing looks like a nice quiet place .. I would stayed there back in the day..glad no one was inside when tree fell. ..very nice and peaceful
Love this place yes I would stay there back in the day ! That look you give as the motor bike goes by was priceless 😂 may my weekend love your work!
😁
The bee creature is called: Grumble Bee is a monster created by Finster. He serves as the titular main antagonist of the episode “Grumble Bee”.
What a nice find. This place would have been a great place to stay. I stayed in a place like this once a few years ago. It was so quiet. The blue chair in the corner of the motel room was a a junior chair. It’s almost like a high chair.
I would've stayed there for sure - I can picture floating in that pool, looking peacefully up at the pine trees...........
.........and suddenly a frog jumps on me! 🐸
But I'd be okay with that. 😁 Frogs is cool. 💚🐸
Great find!
🤗💙
Great video as always. Love seeing mike in these adventures
😊
I wouldve stay here when it was running!!! Love the pond! Be a very peaceful setting. Love this ecplore!!!

You're welcome
Another great video as always! Thanks for sharing. When I get a notification or am scrolling and see it's from you I always watch. Knowing it's going to be good. :)
Ty
That was so interesting to see both cemeteries very peaceful. I remember as a child we walked through the Mormon Cemetery in Omaha where many Mormons had a very bad winter in late 1840’s or early 1850’s and many died there. It was interesting piece of history.
Awesome video! After watching so many abandoned videos I wonder why a lot of people leave so much stuff behind. Some things looked to be good stuff! If only the walls could talk I would be all ears. LOL!

Sweet 👍👍 👍! What a great find JPVideos!
Oh my goodness! Stunning place.I would live there.Must have been amazing in its day.🙂
Too bad these places get so run down and it looks like it doesn't take long. Looks a nice place at one time. I would have had my family stay there for sure. Nice video.
👍👍👍👍👍 awesome find. Nature has definitely taken over. Beautiful ❤️
Thank you for sharing this video. I would have loved . To have seen the place. When it was very nice. Still a very cool place to visit. Both of you take care. Have a great evening.
Such a great video! The pictures at the end of the video are amazing and quite beautiful.
Thanks nicole
hey mike good to so see you again those old toys (ie sega) are classic loved the look of the old office building and the well
Awesome video, Jp and Mike 🤗
Happy Friday Mike and Jay! Thanks for the video!
Great video! I really enjoyed it. Please keep them coming. But of course be safe.
Ty
Very cool! Thank you for sharing.
Love the outdoors and hiking will definitely stay there
Yes if it was still operational would love to vacation there, looks like a perfect getaway
My family went to Cold Spring Camp, Milton, Vermont. The Camp was sold, and is now private residences, I think. It had a much better outcome than many I'll be watching later.
What a wonderful place this must have been! I would definitely have stayed there. From the way they had boarded up the main Hotel and the put plexiglass on the windows, as well as the repaired well covering and the lock box, it looks like they might be trying to restore it. That would have been a magnificent sunroom to have your meals in! I imagine the reason that they put plywood on those buildings is to discourage people from going inside and possibly injuring themselves more than anything else.
Christmas tree.. it's abandoned!
Love it!😊
And toys!
I love this vid. Awesome find you guys!! Good job🤗
Thanks dianne
Really enjoyed this video
Great find! Nice hiking place! It probably was a great place in its day. Thanks.
You're welcome
Looks as though a tornado ripped thru there at some point, and took out some trees and ruined roofs and the contents inside being in heaps like they were. Very very interesting to see all the toys, album's and general junk left behind. I noticed that the motel room pictures on the walls stayed put and straight-- I would of stayed there, reminds me of properties around where I live. Looks like some may of lived there long term. Love watching you and Mike explore!
Thanks for checking it out
That would have been so beautiful in its day. I would love to stay in a spot like that. Thanks for taking me along
My pleasure linda
I'm back. I haven't been able to binge as much this week, working too hard. I'm jealous of your job J! This is great! Those crunchy Doritos you and Mike are eating are loud tho..
Awesome find. Love the well and the pond. With the bridge and water must have been pretty.
Watching this from bonnie scotland :-) Just love your channel :-)
Ty
Absolutely loved the still photos at the end!!
Ty lisa
Great video! You guys rock!
That was a neat find!! I bet it was beautiful back in the day ! The best part was finding Mikes cousin !! He was kinda cute too !!!
Really awesome find and explore! Basement was really cool with all the old toys and games. Thanks for wading through all the spider webs! Gave thumbs up as always
Hey, you're still subscribed...
@@JPVideos81 of course I am! I have some catching up to do, I have been busy being preoccupied!
I would stay there. Cool pool. Love the mid century modern furniture and tile.
What a beautiful place..
I would sure stay there. Very pretty back there in the woods.
Loved it x
Very cool, Looks like it was once really nice place to stay. Thanks
I know you posted this six months ago, it almost seemed to me that it was abandoned because a flood came though. Just a thought! Thanks for doing theses videos.
Wow, what a great find with that pool 😊
This was fantastic, thank you. I especially loved the swimming pool!
Thanks Suzanne
Hi Jay, Be careful when getting peeling paint off because it usually has lead in it which you don't want to inhale. A very cool find though and with still quite a lot of belongings left behind. That pool was awesome and I agree in that the blue colour was nice and would have looked really pretty when clean. Thank you for sharing. x
Thanks sue
I'm a relatively new follower, so coming across these PA videos makes me giddy. Grew up in PA and so I vaguely know of where you are going.
Awesome. Thanks for watching
Great video as always. And educational! I learned that if I ever have a cabin that is squished to smithereens by a ginormous honking tree falling on it, that I must put up plywood and yellow crime tape, in case someone might try to live there or run a business out of it or something. Good grief! Loved the final still pic with the edge of the pool in color and the rest b/w. Your asides crack me up. Tokyo. LOL.
Life lessons from JPVideos lol
