To install PlayStation games on PS5 slim, you Must connect to internet and register the disk drive, or you will not be able to install games from disk. The registration is a 1 time thing.

Why do you have in the title not able to install disc drive? Were you able to or not?

@@AdiBumbul It’s not Sony’s fault it needs an internet connection on initial setup. It’s a requirement to prevent playback of DVD’s and Blu Ray’s from a different region or pirated discs.
So while it does need an internet connection it is only needed once when you setup the console. However the process will need repeating if the console is ever factory reset or disc drive needs replacing.
I didn't blame anybody, nor pointed fingers at. It was just me discovering it. And as I've seen in on the www, thousands of people are not happy with this. Also BTW, there is no region restriction on ps5, all are worldwide compatible.
@@AdiBumbul Obviously you need an internet connection for it bc you can get it off it was also already said that you need wifi for the disc drive to work
