You guys make difficult things extreme easy. I've never baked a cake in my life and for the first time I "copied" your version of Orange Sicilian Cake. I became a hero whithin my family. Thank you for sharing your receipts.
That orange scicilian cake is on my list of to make cakes. So happy to hear yours turned out amazing. Now I really can't wait to try it! Congrats!
Omg , this orange Sicilian cake is another level. Never had I ever heard of using an entire orange , skin and all , I even messaged Eva about my doubt , but she so graciously responded and assured me. I tried it and it's by far the best tea cake I've had. Lovely crumb , subtle orange flavour and the gorgeous orange glaze .... I cannot thank enough , these 2 gorgeous souls for their effort and videos 😍 👏 ❤
I too made the cake, and I’m going to make it my “go to” cake, easy ingredients and usually found in my pantry. Yes thank you for sharing. 😋
I love when Harper says "Doesn't seem very Italian..." and Eva just replies "It's Sicilian" Only an Italian or a descendant of Italians can understand that. Love you EVA!!!
Disagree sicily is an italian region. It s just some of you guys, from the continent that are confused about it.
@@lenase7396 each of the regions were independent before the unification (or under other European monarchies), most regions have their own local language which are removed from Italian to a varying degree.
Neapolitan and Sicilian are probably the most remote from standard Italian out of all of them to be honest, the modern Italian language is basically from Florence AFAIK which gained prominence in the peninsula during the Renaissance.
Southern Italy is somewhat different than the rest of the country, in more ways than one...
One dough for all 😍😍😍
I appreciate Harper for sharing his weight loss story with us and I am glad that Ava shows us how to eat using good healthy ingredients.
Love you both. 😘
Eva could sell those by the millions. They looked great. The Arizona food scene would never be the same again.
After hours at our pizza shop we'd experiment with all the ingredients as long as they didn't look like a pizza. The manager gave out awards for the most creative stuff and off took most of them home. When pizza shops started to diversify into garlic knots, calzones, and savory filled donut none of us were surprised.
Another wonderful video!!! 🥰❤️❤️
On a side note, I was surprised to see the sponsor for this lovely video. Eva has helped me heal my eating disorder. I was on countless diets for 30 years. Like many of us dieters, I suffered from the diet/binge cycle. Diet culture and its trendy diets destroyed my relationship with food. Noon is one of them. It’s highly restrictive (1200 calories/day) and teaches us to judge our food based on colors. The most caloric foods are red while “safe foods” are green. That’s a terrible message. Mental health is as important as weight loss. Eva has inspired me to enjoy food without guilt, and little by little I am becoming an intuitive eater like her. Your channel deserves a better sponsor. You guys are too special and precious for that. Your message is healing people. I’m not sure how much you realize that. Love you!! ❤️❤️
My family originates from Isola delle Femmine in Sicily. I love watching your videos, because so much of the dishes you prepare make me happy. Your recipes bring back many memories of Sicily and Italy for me. I regularly prepare the Italian/Sicilian foods I grew up with. but I’ve added several of your recipes to my menu. My family loves them! Thank you Eva for your passion for cooking, and to Harper, for your passion of enjoying great food!
I'm from Catania, and I've eaten "tavola calda" (it is so called in Catania the Rosticceria Siciliana) last night.
We've similar pieces like that and much more, and arancini are also considered tavola calda.
Iris is one of the best breakfast sweet you can have, the pistachio version is simply incredible.
When Eva will make iris or cipollina or the bolognese Catania piece finally every Catanese will stop complaining about the “tavola calda” about the other cities of Sicily.
By a Palermitano which i am, congratulations not only for the detailed recipe, but also you've described and called with its proper names the "Pezzi". And above all for cooking the "Rollò" (Food that every kid loves in Palermo)
Two things:
1. I had no idea Harper used to be overweight. He just looked to me like he was one of the genetically blessed who is naturally slender. Great job on the weight loss, Harper!
2. All these little "snack breads" are so completely up my alley, I now need to get a stand mixer to make the dough.
Thank you so much for sharing these amazing recipes 💖
"pretty much one of the best thing i've ever eaten" - Harper in every video
So sweet how Harper looks amazed by the amazing indeed cornucopia of pastries. You see he's not acting, we're all amazed, too.
I didn't know that these things have the common name rosticceria siciliana. There is always something to learn!
👍And TASTE and ENJOY 🥰 ALSO, why am I watching this when my new years' resolution is to cut out bread products?
The dough looks beautiful even before it is baked or fried. Perfection. So many variations. You just keep coming up with gems.
Wow the ending looked like a commercial for a Sicilian Bakery. They all look amazing 😍
I had assumed Harper was one of those guys that could eat anything and stay thin. How on earth does he manage to stay thin with all that amazing food around all the time!
The sweet ricotta awakened 43% Sicilian DNA from deep in my soul. I must try this versatile dough. Thanks for creating such genuine content. You're a great couple! I always look forward to your next program. Ciao!
I am so hungry looking at all those delicious ways you used the dough. I love all bread products and can never have a meal without Italian bread. I loved the sweet ricotta and chocolate chip one .Eva makes everything she cooks so easy and stress free. Love you both 💓
I am becoming a "Pasta Grammatorio". I will scoop Eva up and whisk her away only to return her back after learning a thing or two about cooking. I do very much enjoy your culinary education.
Bon Appetito!
Continuate così ragazzi, siete i migliori.
Eva and Harper, Another exceptional video! Eva is just a natural in the kitchen - everything prepared looks so mouthwatering. This video has convinced me to visit Sicily during my next trip to Italy to sample local cuisine.
If you go to Sicily, you must visit Cefalu. Dont judge Sicily by the big cities like Palermo or Catania.
I'm so happy I found your channel! My grandmother recently passed and I tried to learn as many of her dishes as I could. She was from Northern Italy, Torino. So many lost recipes and so hard to find authentic Italian food where I live! I love your channel. Eva, my Nonna used to make a rice fritter with parsley I think and meats.. it was called fritchuling or something like that. Do you know this?
Eva sei davvero bravissima! 😉
I am from Palermo and I tried this recipe. I can confirm that Eva's dough is perfect, it is the real palermitan dough for the "pezzi". I cannot wait to see what's coming next!
I'm from Palermo and these pezzi you've made are amazing! Rollò And fried calzone are my favourites and i sometimes make breakfast with these (not everyday to not gain too much weight)
My nonna taught me how to make bread so, so long ago but it is something I do often because it brings me so much joy. Eva, your bread making and pasta dough knowledge is beautiful to see. You are an artist! I will make all of these soon! Grazie!
Bellissimo guys! (says a Sicilian) Brava Eva, always so accurate and respectful of tradition. Never thought of using less old fashion cliché-y folk music though 😅?
The dough that will conquer the world.
Oh Arpère, You lucky dog!!! Last week a lovely meal for the missus and now "pigs in blankets", Ragu donuts and Pizette!!!! Love y'all channel and love learning Italian dishes!!
Amazing!! Eva mentioned in a video a while back that her favorite pasta was a pasta with chickpeas! Will we see it in a video soon? ❤️
Oh my goodness! Here I am eating my Pasta Carbonara from this channel (delicious by the way) and I am left with the need to make this dough. What goes best with a Pasta Grammar recipe? A Pasta Grammar video of course. Also, I love, love, love Eva’s accent. And English vowels are ridiculous. I love telling people about this channel.
That looks amazing and your cooking style is so easy to follow I just put another item from your receipe box on my to-do list along with a few others you have made! I can't wait to try the sweet Iris
Love you guys! I'm a die hard fan!
Aww!! That's super delicious 🥰❤️ thank you guys for this awesome recipe 😋 my family will love it 😊
Thanks for promoting the amazing Sicilian food
That dough is gorgeous 😍
Wow, it all looked fantastic! I have been making yeasted doughs for years and I’m still learning new recipes and concepts on what you can make with them. Thank you Eva for teaching me another. I can’t wait to try it. Last year, I tried making “panzerotti” for the 1st time. It was very similar to your fried calzone. They were absolutely delicious. So I have no doubt that your recipes will be equally as delicious, if not better. Thanks again Eva. Brava! 👍🏻👏🏻
Great recipes, guys! Thanks for sharing! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It all looks so good!
Iris is literally the goddess of rainbows lol Its pretty Italian

Greetings from Germany to everyone stay healthy and fit to enjoy healthy Italian food 🍀👍🍀
These all look wonderful, what memories 😁
Love the vidios. Please keep them coming. Thanks.
A great video, inspiring. As an American, retired and now a resident of Italy, I love Calabria. . I live in a small village, Santa Domenica Talao, the people are wonderful, kind, and compassionate. The food I is delicious,, the vedere and fruita fresh, organic, locally grown, and very affordable compared to US standards. I enjoy your channel. Eva is delightful, and informative. She is the brains behind the project and Harper is the muse. A great combination. Ok Harper, I will give you credit, you are integrale to the collaboration. Thank you for all you share, charming.. Looking forward to the next episode.
Fun fact: In the north of Italy the "Rosticceria" sells of course, pizzette, bread, focaccia but also roasted chicken and potatoes, pig cooked meat and pasticcini (sweet pastries)
Awesome video again ;) i will definitely try this one out 👍
Ok I didn’t think I could love you guys anymore. But here we are! ❤🤗 So grateful for yet another excellent video and recipes, plus the beginning of this was freaking hysterical! 😂

Best Italian Cook..Eva!!!!!🥰🥰
Eva is the best !
You guys make me so hungry every time I watch one of your videos. Stop being so excellent. :D just kidding! More please!!!
🇮🇹 ❤❤❤ vado a farli oggi ...
Making them today Good Lord how much I miss la rosticceria Siciliana grazie Eva ❤
That’s awesome ❤️❤️❤️
Bravi ragazzi, you make me a proud Sicilian. I also used to love the 'cartocciata' one of my faves when I stayed in Sicily during school time 😋😋😋😋 🇬🇸🇮🇹
So instead of a ring this Doug Is basically the Lord of the dough that rules them all.
Guys if you ever need an example to explain how things can have different names in different places were italian is spoken, just say "like pigs in blankets in English!"
To someone speaking English in the UK or Ireland pigs in blankets are small link sausages wrapped in bacon and sausage in pastry is a sausage roll.
Talk about being divided by a common language. 😉
Love your channel- may you keep making great videos. Grazie, ciao.
Hi Eva and Harper! my parents were from Calabria, specifically Gioisa Ionica/ Marina. I visited there as a child twice and I remember a specific pastry that was incredibly delicious. I am a grad of The CIA in NY, 1984. The pastry is simply called Pasta di Gioisa. I can send u a picture. Looks like a simple pate choice or possible sponge with a pastry cream and icing topped off with a red or green cherry. Sounds simple but I’m sure there are a few delicate nuances that make it super delicious. Wondering if u could help! Grazie, love ur channel!!!!❤️❤️✌️
EVA EVERYTHING IS SOOOO BEAUTIFULLY PERFECT👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Love this. I will try to bake it. Love lard too, my grandma cooked with it.
Hi Harper, as an Italian living in Britain, I'd say the Rollo' is more like an Italian answer to "Toad in the hole" than "Pig in a blanket" 🙂
