Wow. I literally just watched one of your other videos where you showed how to diagnose AC problems in the Element (which I tried that diagnostic code trick but didn't work for me for some reason). I popped my hood instead and realized neither of my fans were working, but couldn't figure out if it was the relays that had gone bad or if the fan motor had gone bad. Just as I was about to look it up, I had a notification on my phone for this video you posted literally as I was in the process of trying to figure out how to do exactly what you showed in this video. So glad I subscribed on that last video of yours I had just watched only minutes before 😂😂 I love this channel already! You have already shown me multiple new things that none of the many other videos I've watched have ever shown. Thank you for sharing your knowledge ! I hope your channel continues to grow 😄
@@dannysdiygarage that would be awesome ! I’m going down a rabbit hole watching a bunch of your other Element videos rn. (Realized I watched your DIY camper bed video when I first got my element a few years ago lol) My Element unfortunately has a slew of issues that honestly seem never ending. To name just a few: The car shakes violently whenever I drive, the AC blows out warm air or sometimes doesn’t work at all, the driver side door cylinder lock is stuck in a diagonal position and I can’t enter in my car through that side (I’ve gotten it repaired once and it happened again), the car is extremely loud in general to the point where I can barely hear the radio even on full blast, and the list goes on. I’ve been watching a lot of videos on CZcams recently to try to understand the car better and hopefully be able to start fixing some of these problems myself. So videos like yours really help a lot !
@@dannysdiygarage absolutely! I definitely will. Already subscribed 😊 also, if you ever need a car with issues you’d like to cover for any future videos, I’ll gladly volunteer my Element 😂 I promise you’ll have no shortage of content you can create with my Honda hahaha
Update: Honda civic 2010 I only tried to check the relay switching the radiator and the condenser relay from the video but I didn’t hear anything, , but the problem is that as soon the relay were back in their original position. The car won’t turn on. The dash is on but when I tried to turn the engine on everything turns off and won’t start again until I disconnect the battery again. I bought a new battery because it was an old battery. And with the new battery is the same, won’t turn on. 😕
Dear Danny, my favorite person first,. I want to say thank you for always being a great content creator. Secondly, I have this problem, but the slow fan does not work when the temperature is high, but it works with the other fan. If I turn on the air conditioner, what is my problem?❤
@@dannysdiygarage .the question . My temperature indicator is not rising but the water is boiling. When I checked the fan, I found that it only worked with the air conditioner on. To date, I have not found a solution to the problem. Is the temperature sensor damaged? Is there a problem with the behavior?
Danny my 2007 civic condenser fan keeps on and off even though my engine is hot. I noticed drop in ac cooling when the fan stops working. What might be the reason for condensed fan switching off randomly?
I have a 2010 Honda Civic and this happened to me only a few times. But I’m gonna check. Also do you have any recommendations of what could be that if I left my car battery connected the rear lights stayed on all the time even If the switch is off? I also need to change the battery of the alarm. By any chance do you have any videos of that? I’m gonna look for.. I just subscribed 😊
I have a video on brake lamp switch which is what you should check, might be out of adjustment, the video is on the Honda Element, but its the same procedure for the Civic
@@dannysdiygarage thanks I installed on the pedal a plastic thing that cost $9 here because it was broken. That fixed the stop lights on problem. Danny I have a 2012 Honda Civic. The fans do not come on when the engine is off and in accessory mode with max ac and blower on. But they do come with the engine running.I am not understanding what is going on.When I am idle or at a light the temp for ac goes up but when going down the road the ac is ice cold.I do not know what to do
I have 2013 civic and it only blows cold air when the temp is 80 ish Last week it was 104 and only blew hot ass air today it was overcast n 78 and it worked great any tips
I have more videos on ac problems on my page, I suggest watching them and see if anything applies, sorry I can’t guess, I don’t want to send you down the wrong path
What if the fans only come on sometimes and they don’t seem to spin as fast as they used to? I have 13 civic si. Also if the fans aren’t on I can flick them with my finger and they will start up and spin for a little bit?
@@dannysdiygarage do they both have the same motor? I agree with the logic but it’s interesting that both motors just stopped working all of a sudden isn’t it?
I’m not sure if they both have the same motor, one is the radiator fan and the other is the condenser fan, one fan could have stopped working years ago, but you didn’t notice it because the other fan was working
@@dannysdiygarage I see. My car overheats while idling. I’m at 200k miles so I might just let it be until the car dies. I’m done getting scammed for $1k going to mechanics lol
Hello quick question please .. Should condenser fan run with ac off at normal operating temperature with radiator fan or the radiator fan should run separately
they should both come on , not at normal operating temperature, but if the temperature gets above 212° then it should come on, if it doesn't, there's fan switches that control this, I have a video on this coming out soon. please subscribe so you don't miss it
but hey Danny …. I’m having the same problem to my 2010 civic sedan Ex-L & I just went outside and did the same exact steps as you did on your video but with out the Innova 5420 tester which I’ll get later but all though during the mid-afternoon it’s a 100’ 🥵 hot outside and yes when I do come to stop and go traffic like on freeway or Main Street stop lights my ( A/C ) does blow warm & NOT as cold ❄️ as it should but both fans are working fine . Should I just go ahead and replace the condenser fan relay anyways just to be on the safe side ? Right now it has the oem relay & under heavy shade it’ll blow cold 🥶 but under extreme hot ☀️ weather that’s when it’ll be warm 🥵 & I’ll literally feel like this at times when I do my Uber Eats
I would also check for proper amount of Freon in the system, unfortunately this may need to be accomplished by removing all the the freon and pulling the moisture out of the system, this will most likely need to be done by a shop with an AC machine.
@@dannysdiygarage I just bought a vacuum pump … the same one & brand like ( Chris Fix ) from harbor freight 2.5 cfm…. but before pulling the moisture out , I’m thinking 🤔 I should try 1st replacing the condenser fan relay since it’s only $10 at Autozone . The reason for is because I’m also thinking that the relay is probably wearing out internally & since these days it’s been 100’ ☀️ 🥵 it could be that it’s sticking because of the extreme heat . If persay if nothing changes & I still experience the same warm air coming out from vents during stop lights or frwy stop & go traffic , then I’ll go ahead and pull vacuum to re-charge proper Freon . What do you think 🤔
