    I Want To THANK You for this AWESOME VIDEO. ESPECIALLY FOR MASTER NUMBER 12 GM TERUYUKI OKAZAKI BEING He was the teacher of master Leslie Safar 9th Dan,who was the teacher of Jim Philips Godan 5th Dan, Who was my teacher in the earlier 70s. You video has brought such greats memories back to me thank you . I actually swelled with such honor and pride to have had the great privileges to be taught by such GREAT MASTERS of Shotokon. Again Thank you so much for the wonderful memories . I had the privilege of being allowed to see GM TERUYUKI Okazaki's trying room at his home were he trained privately what a sight the room was all mirrors it was incredible.I just thought I would add this as something that I am not sure if it was common knowledge.

    There are many Karate Masters of the modern era that you could include in future episodes : Mikio Yahara, Yoshiharu Osaka, Tatsuya Naka, Masao Kawasoe, Masahiko Tanaka etc etc. These masters are from the Shotokan style. This is the style that I have been training in since 1980.

    you know, when looking at the footage of the oldest masters (filmed) form movements do appear to have been done differently (in a more relaxed fashion). I think I prefer the movement in these demos by students of the 19th century teachers.

    There should be white subtitles on a black background between visual shots so we can read and watch what is very interesting material.
    Will not watch ever again in current format.

    What about Eiichi Miyazato Founder of the Jundokan. You have put Anichi Miyagi in there and he was junior to Miyazato. In fact when the garden dojo of Chojun Miyagi closed following the latter's passing, training relocated to Miyazato's dojo the Jundokan, where Annichi Miyagi's continued his training along with Miyazato who was his Sempai. Anichi Miyagi never had his own dojo. It was here that Higaonna Morio met Anichi Miyagi, and looked to him as his Sempai and uses him as his lineage to Chojun Miyagi.

    I am always curious as to why the Taekwondo world never has videos showcasing the top 10 masters or top 20 masters of Taekwondo or what anyone accomplished or any footage of the old masters. There is also no fighting legends of Taekwondo. There is such an emphasis on the Olympic sport and some poomsae championships that there is no legendary fighters of Taekwondo often known. Then others split off into other organizations they made and left the KTA and Kukkiwon. There are hardly any Taekwondo videos showcasing "bunkai" of the Taekwondo poomsae (kata) as well which is sad. I always enjoy these old Karate master videos though.

      MaharlikaAWA . Taekwondo is a recent creation based on Shotokan ryu. It was teached to korean soldiers by japanese army instructors during both korea war and vietnam war. Basically, the techniques are the same, but for commercial purpose, heads of Taekwondo decided to focuse on acrobatic kicks. There is no old masters's footage available because there were no master before japaneses taugh karate to them. The renowned Taekwondo masters we know learned their art during 60's and after.

    I've watched both videos and there is a lot of Martial history there, but not one Korean Martial Artist in this history. I hold a 5th Dan in Tae Kwon Do and Hop Ki Do from Grand Master Ho Yung (Tiger) Chung. Bio: Ho Yung “Tiger” Chung immigrated to the United States in 1971. As a soldier in the Korean Army, Tiger Chung had the privilege of teaching young American soldiers Tae Kwon Do, Tiger Chung was invited to the United States as a guest and never looked back. Tiger Chung uprooted his family and moved to the land of the people to whom he grew to love and became a proud U.S. citizen.
    Tiger Chung’s Martial Arts have its roots locally. Opening his first school in Detroit in the early 1970s, Tiger Chung has taught thousands of students - some of whom are still practicing today and have also opened their own schools. A father of three, Tiger Chung has taught his three sons Tae Kwon Do, the oldest becoming a Master in his own right. Once thought of as another form of Karate, Tae Kwon Do has become popular as ever with the growing Mixed Martial Arts audience. But, there’s more to Tae Kwon Do than “karate”. Today’s Tae Kwon Do has evolved - not only in Tae Kwon Do self-defense, but it’s also discipline. Patience. Loyalty. Wellness. Together, it’s about becoming a better, more well-rounded person. Tiger Chung’s resume is extensive: as a 10th Degree Black Belt, he has achieved Grand Master status and is renowned around the world; is a former National (Korea) Tae Kwon Do Champion, world record holder (1981) for breaking 17 two-inch cement blocks, studied under Choi Yong-Sool, the founder of Hap Ki Do;
