Not the first time The Doctor stepped on a landmine
But it's strange that it happened twice 😅

This episode was directly inspired by that, according to Moffat.
“Where’s Harry Sullivan when you need him?”
"Harry, I've stepped on a landmine."
I have got to admire the doctor for this. He went to an unknown time and battle field not knowing what was out there. But he still decided to help someone who he thought was in danger. Hats off to the doctor for doing this. He is the doctor through and through. This was an excellent episode....

This episode instantly reminded me of when the Fourth Doctor accidentally stepped on a landmine in _Genesis Of The Daleks._

The butterfly, the landmine, the fairy circle, Rogue’s molecular portal thing… I wonder if this motif was intentional? Maybe symbolising the doctor getting more careless?

This was probably one of my favourite episodes during the season. Up there with 73 yards.

The Doctor has, in his own past, already nullified the weapons workshops of Villengard - and they are now a banana plantation. A comic story shows the incarnation that does this, to be the 'War Doctor', with some assistance from Dorium Maldovar. Not sure if it's canon - however, the Ninth Doctor tells Jack Harkness this, after noticing Jack's Sonic Blaster, when escaping from the 'Gas Mask Zombies' in the two parter, 'The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances'.
Twice Upon A Time showed the Villengard factories as abandoned and Dalek infested, but primarily intact.
A truly fantastic cold open. I love this episode.

Which blank landmine?! The timeless, yet aimless, timelord never misses! On the contrary, to you or us: Where is the detonator's location, when upon being stepped on?! Nobody should be around any fortresses at all!! Hit the decks!! The worst places or worse circumstances are the hazards of an explosion!! Ok, I'm now dreaming all of this...? Tonight, for once, just watching the trailer...right now! 😮

This episode truly felt like Doctor who like Moffat is a genius
This landmine is what I use to describe overstimulation and what it feels like trying to thwart autistic meltdowns. When the Doctor says he is lowering his adrenaline to keep the bomb from going off, that's what it feels like when I am trying to lower the stimulation around me to stave off nervous system overload (meltdown). Thank you, Moffet for one of the the best analogies ever!
... I have been using vomit and nausea as an analogy which works slightly better since not everyone watches DW...but BOOM at least doesn't involve sick... 😅
