I kind of struggle with thinking about bad acts vs good acts, like how many good acts "make up for" doing something bad? Obviously Mr Beast wouldn't have the money to do this if he wasn't ripping off little kids. It's amazing that he's helping people who truly need it, I don't think people should bash him for that. But does that make up for the shady way he was running contests? I really don't know. I don't think it's an easy answer. I don't think he's a good person or a bad person, maybe he's a person who's done a lot of good things but also needs to answer for the bad things he's done.
Giving away the homes so publicly also reminds me of Extreme Home Makeover, where they were "helping" people but in the end they couldn't maintain the homes on their own salaries. These homes look pretty modest so I hope they didn't affect the homeowners in a bad way, kind of like winning the lottery can bring you unexpected problems.
I appreciate your perspective as someone who has received a home. Things are so different around the world than they are in North America. ❤❤
I did this before all the leaks and other bad stuff came about him and all the shady business practices. I hate people that take advantage of children.
