How to inspire a child's love of math and science

Theoretical physicist and one of the world's leading string field theorists, Brian Greene came by to discuss how to get kids fired up over science.
Greene is the co-founder of the World Science Festival, which has a new initiative called "City of Science" which is a 5-event series. The third event will be taking place in Queens on September 25, 2016. All events will take place in one of New York City's five boroughs throughout this fall.
"City of Science" is free and open to all New Yorkers of all ages.

lol im studying engineering right now, and as a kid i used to take apart all my toys after a day or two once i got bored of them, i got more of a kick of seeing what was inside than the toy itself, obviously my parents hated it as they would find something they just bought me a few days ago, surgically laid out in some corner, the thing was i could never get those darn things back together as most things were held together with some adhesive. Got my fingers cut a bunch of times, and got shocked with a camera capacitor one time too, arm was numb the next day. LOL and in elementary i almost got in a bunch of trouble for taking a small container of elemental mercury to school, still think people over react to how toxic it actually is. it was a lonely experience tho as almost no one i knew as a kid was into what i liked, they all wanted to talk about linkin park and sports while i was more into talking about lidar or something familiar.
