What a great scene. So many layers, and so much intelligent dialogue. The basic respect that Edward had for Monica even with her fling has a nuance that was lost when Edward was later made into a bah humbug figure.

Yes! Edward did always have a soft spot for Monica. Both Edward and Lila loved Monica and she really did fit with their family.
