  • Falling For Fiberglass Rally 2018, This is our trip to the rally where we got to see old friends and make some new ones. We did a tour of several fiberglass molded trailers. We were able to capture a wide mix of trailer sizes and ages from new ones to vintage classics.

    I really appreciate videos like this that not only show you a variety of campers, but also show you (us) the social aspect of RVing since it is really easy to imagine isolation and loneliness in an RV lifestyle for those of us who are single.

    We really enjoyed seeing all the different styles of fiberglass campers! An excellent video. In fact, it is one of the best we’ve seen. We are expecting our Casita in September, and watching these videos helps with the waiting.

    This was a great showcase of the variety of fiberglass travel trailers.
    I am very impressed with the Li'l Snoozys, especially that last one you showed us.
    The Parkliner was very impressive, as well. That U-shaped seating area in the back looked especially inviting.
    We had a '79 Scamp 13' from 2011 until 2014. We loved it, and took it everywhere, from Grand Canyon, to Big Bend, Great Smokey Mountains, DC, and New York.
    We have a 23' Keystone now, but are looking to get back into a fiberglass trailer. Your video helped us a lot - thanks!
    Happy Camping.

    3. Snoozy with black cabinets. Decorated nicely. . Not cluttered!

    As usual I'm late to the party having only discovered (and subscribed to) your channel today....So now I'm basically binge watching your videos and enjoying them all. By the way the last real vacation I had was at that campground. I stayed there in my popup with my two best friends, Specks and Precious who are gone now, for several days and simply relaxed....We had a great time just walking around (I'm pretty sure, looking back on it, that it was ME that got walked.). Great video(s) and hopefully, someday once The Lovely Bride, myself, Barney THE Dog, and Gidget the Old Poodle, have purchased a camper of our own we'll cross paths and share a hot dog or twelve with Y'all! Safe travels and keep up the great work you do here on CZcams.

    Ive been planing my life on the road now for the past few years. As im going through all the possible ways to do it i have come to this conclusion - People go on the road like this for so many reasons and i have to decide what my "Reason" is. My reason is to see everything america has to offer. The beauty , the different landscapes and people.
    My way of it will not this way. i can see the beauty in this though. i absolutely love Scamps, but for me i dont want to tow a trailer. i will probably do a very basic van build. i want stealth.

      encouraging about seeing these older models fiberglass travel trailers is that they're durable, and with a little care, can last decades....my rig is only 2011, but I'm storaged parked next to a Uhaul that is still in full use ---think the owner said he's owned it since the 1970s and it has been pretty much everywhere in North America....

    I love the first one was absolutely so unique but I was wondering that door soon as you walk into the right is at the bathroom do these have a bathroom or wet bath oh my goodness it was just so cute just like I always say I think the older models are better the new models might have all the rings and bells and whistle’s and stuff but I’m an old timer an old country girl and sometimes I think the older ones of anything is better because it looks Purdy tell me is going to test the time I enjoyed this video immensely I wish me and my husband could do this thank you for sharinghello from Florida🌴🌴🌴🌴

      Hi Sheila French, I don't remember which camper was first in the video so I'm not sure about the bathroom. Many of the older campers do have a lot of character that's for sure. Thanks for watching!

    FYI: When you introduced yourselves we set a comfortable volume on our device. However, the music came on blaring annoying those around us. We could not turn down the sound quick enough. If we had headphones on we would have ripped them off. After the music stopped the remaining video is well worth watching. Suggestion, do not have music more loud than your speaking voice. From beginning to finish you want the video sound consistent.
    Truly, we enjoy your videos. Thank you for producing them.

    I really enjoyed your video. I love to see all the trailers and how the owners have decorated them. I would be interested in knowing what vehicle they use to pull with, and whether they are satisfied with what they drive.

    Hi. How high are the ceilings inside fiberglass egg Campers or Scampy's? Can a man who is 6 ft 4 tall Stand Inside one of these type of campers?

    • @RunawayRoses
      @RunawayRoses  Před 5 lety

      J Niemann, I would suggest checking on the specs on the particular one that you are interested in. Todd's head rubbed in the Casita and he is 6 ft so a 6'4" man would not be able to stand up without bending his head over in one of those. Todd fits well in our Bigfoot and as we've toured some of these campers I do recall him fitting well in the actual fiberglass camper called an "Egg Camper" as well as a "Parkliner". Again, I would suggest doing a little research on them, sometimes you can find one close by to your area that someone will let you tour before buying one. Thanks for watching! ~Carla

    What do you use to pull your Bigfoot 21? I have a Nissan 2012 Titan. Do you think it would have enough power to pull the 21 ft?

    • @RunawayRoses
      @RunawayRoses  Před 5 lety

      Hi Monte, we use a Ram 2500 with the Hemi. Todd would have to tell you a little more about that. I think, from what I understand that the Tital would pull the Bigfoot but that is a question that I'll have to let him answer. Thanks for watching! ~Carla

    As someone who knows diddly about campers, what are the pros and cons of fiberglass?

    • @RunawayRoses
      @RunawayRoses  Před 5 lety +1

      dannythetoesmasher the pros of fiberglass as opposed to "stick built" campers are that they last much longer due to the fiberglass shell. They are also relatively light due to their fiberglass nature. You still have to maintain the windows and any openings to the outside or you will get water in them, that goes for any camper but we love them because of the durability. All fiberglass campers that I am aware of are very well made. I can't think of many cons other than what Dori and Mena said in their last video, (and I agree) most of the fiberglass campers are smaller but some people prefer the maneuverability of a smaller camper. We have one of the larger ones which is a Bigfoot. I hope this helps you understand why a lot of people choose fiberglass. :-) Safe travels!
