All doorways (and windows) are framed out when built. The area you were trying to drill into to hang your shelf is called a header (I think that's what they call it) and is basically just framing lumber (ie: studs!). If you want to go back and hang that shelf there, just drill some pilot holes and then drill in your screws! :)
Here's a good illustration of what I'm talking about: undergroundcarpenter.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Frame-a-door-rough-opening-drawing-scaled.jpg
That's what I figured since it all seemed so hard! But even with drilling pilot holes the screws wouldn't go in far enough for the shelf to be flush against the wall 😢. Maybe I'll try tackling it again another time lol. Thank you for the illustration! 😊
@@TanaMakes The space looks lovely! Really well done!
@@TanaMakes Maybe you hit nails/screws or some other metal part of the construction. Shifting 1cm to the right or left might help...
If you have any of the mint paint left you should paint that stand your cricut is on that would be a nice accent with the color you painted the checkered wall. I love it, i love all your organization as well.
Before I’ve even watched: Yaaayy!!! I’ve missed your videos. New subscriber, but your videos bring me so much peaceful joy. Ok, gotta go watch….
i want to finish my house, this is really getting me motivated to get the house fixed so i can decorate. OH also their is typically a board over top of the door called a header. i dont know if thats what ur hitting id think the header would be very small for that door as it isn't a load bearing wall. if it is a load bearing wall that might explain why that closet is such a weird size and you could have hit a massive load bearing beam. u can also buy a slip cover for that recliner.
Love your energy! Couldn’t help but laugh when you mentioned hanging artwork to cover the holes, I’ve done this so many times 🤣❤️
Thank you! And yup.. problem solved 🤣
This was an amazing makeover. I love all the organizations you have created. I have to reorganize my craft room, as well.
Thank you so much! Hopefully this gave you some inspo 🥰
Love your workspace!!😍
Thank you 🥰💜
Yay!!! I’m so happy you’re BACK! I miss your videos! LOVE the space! -Judy
Aw, thank you!! 💕
Good to see you Tana. Looking good girl.
Thank you! :)
Everything is looking really good. Can't wait to see when it is completed. I'm sure it will be absolutely beautiful 😍
Thank you so much 😊💕
That orange jumpsuit your wearing is absolutely adorable, I must know where you got it lol 😝
Thank you! I got it when it was on sale from mate the label 😊
@@TanaMakes Thank you, I bow to you hehe and I will check it out.
Was so excited to see an upload!! You look so great- you are just glowing! Can’t wait for more uploads!
Awww, thanks so much! 💕
It looks amazing Tana!! And that checkboard, oh my…. ❤️ I had done a tilted shades of purple on a wall in my oldest daughters room. It got no love as the kids got older. I wanted to cry when the youngest painted over it. Brat. But I’d love to be working in this space, looking forward to the closet makeover. Oh what color did you use for the checkers??
It’s looking great ,
Thanks so much!
Love your space so much! I wonder if there's a metal plate or something on that portion of the stud that you were trying to screw in, that was causing the problem . . . like maybe connecting the cross beam that frames in the closet door . . . ?
I was so happy to see a new video this morning when I got up. Love the squares wall. What all extra did you order for your xtool? I'm seriously thinking of getting one this Christmas so I really hope for more videos about the xtool. And can you do a video on the materials like the woods, acrylic and faux leather types of supplies you could use? You have been a huge inspiration for me and what I hope to achieve on etsy. I don't get too many sales. Think I need to work on seo. it's frustrating. Thanks and have a wonderful day.
Aw, thank you! They sent me the air assist, the honeycomb panel, and the new RA2 pro for rotary engraving on irregular cylinders and things that have handles. Really excited to try everything and I'll definitely test a few things in the next video!
Play around with the SEO and make sure you have plenty of nice photos and have started incorporating video into the listings. My Etsy shops definitely slowed down and I think part of it may be that they push out star sellers and shops that use all the new features like video. I need to post videos too but Potty Mouth is finally a star seller, so I've seen a little bit of an increase in sales.
Nice to see how everything came together! Thanks for sharing! ;-)
Thank you! I appreciate you watching 💕
I have the same utility cart that I use for storing my paints, and I find it annoying to have to check each bottle until I find the colour I'm looking for. I noticed some of your glaze jars have the same problem. I'm not sure if this would work with glaze, but my solution was to put a dot of paint on the top of the bottle for quick identification.
The room is looking great, I'm so jealous! I wish my place looked as nice!
Aw, yeah :( I quickly realized that would be an issue too, but that's a great idea! I'll probably write the names of the colors on the lid. Thanks so much! Definitely took some time. Just take it little by little until you get it the way you like :)
where did you get you water tape dispenser from? link please? 🙏 i ❤ how compact it is
It's a thrifted piece I found at an antique store unfortunately 🥲. The tape fitting was a happy accident.
So happy to see a new video from you :D Your space looks so good and neat :D Hope you are doing great and have a good day ^^
What is the wood board on the blue cart thingy? is that wood piece also from IKEA? so smart to have your sowing machine on top of that, i currently have to unpack and pack my sowing machine everytime i use it and i hate doing that xD Since i dont have any space to have it up all the time.
I also just got my xtool, super excited to use it, only tested it once, but excited to make stuff with it :D
Thank you so much! This cart is from Michael's and I got the wood topper for it at Michael's as well! I'm not sure if it's compatible with the ikea carts. Excited for you to make stuff with your xtool! I'll be posting a video doing more tests with it soon 😊
@@TanaMakes Aah thank you =) I did some digging and i found out that in some countries IKEA have come out with a board to have on top of the cart, so hopefully it will come to Norway aswell soon :D Because it looked very handy. If not then i will try and make one ^^
Thank you, very excited for the videos ^^
Take care ^^
Probably a header that was overly built because it’s weird even with pilot holes you couldn’t get them to go in far enough.
Space looks great!!
I guess so ☹. Thank you!! 💜
Everything came out beautiful! The only unsolicited critique I have is that the door is going to hit the coat hanger every time it’s opened and the hanger will not let it open all the way.
Thank you! 😊💕 I hide my tripods back there so it doesn't open all the way anyways 😂 but it still opens more than I need and easy to remove and put back if I need to move in something big.
@@TanaMakes ohhh ok well then perfect! I love the aesthetic!
I like how the room looks but the grannie chair makes the room look old.
Hence me trying to cover it with a blanket lol. It's for reading and it's comfy, so oh well! Ain't got money to buy a new chair.
