    NYC is definitely worth it! The entertainment & career factors are simply too good to be replicated anywhere, even in other large cities… plus I love your outlook. This is likely a temporary phase of your life and $2650 a month is a solid mortgage in most places… hard to imagine going from a studio to a 3br house without changing the cost

    Folks you don't have to spend so much money to live in NYC. Not everyone earns 100k plus. I share a very large old school apartment in Bklyn with one other room mate ($1100 each). It can easily be used as a 3bed and we have the backyard. Unlimited monthly metro $135 . Phone Mint mobile $17 per month. Food $250. I don't do gyms but in the past I've done city gyms or other cheap gym like planet fitness. I even leave $250 for miscell activities. I lived like this comfortably for a couple years saving until I purchase a home. So yes NYC is more expensive than other cities but with savvy it can be managed.

    I knew Equinox was expensive but I didn't know it was that expensive! Then again I've heard they've got a lot of extreme amenities besides just weights and cardio machines. Do you like your gym?
    Your terrace has such a great view! I'm actually pretty jealous of that! Though that rent is insane. Smart of you and your friends to split the studio though
    Does the subway have passes or anything? $3 is pretty cheap, but assuming you take it twice a day, five days a week, that's $120 a month. I don't think I spend even that much on gas. Either way it's probably cheaper than driving due to gas, insurance, and a car loan, and also you don't have to worry about driving in all that traffic. I'm glad you are having a good time in NYC and enjoying it while you can! I spent a year in a suburb of Denver, CO back in 2018-2019 and I miss it every day! I myself actually live in rural OH but I grew up in Columbus. Columbus is a great city, and as boring as living in a rural area can be, it's quiet and peaceful with not much in the way of bothersome people
    Great video as always bro!
    Edit: also, I forgot, I can't wait until your podcast is up! I'm sure you'll make a video about where you're streaming. I'll definitely have to follow it!

    • @ForeverForwardPod

      Thank you so much for such an informative comment bro. I do like equinox, but my location is kinda raggedy. It doesn’t have all the nice amenities that most other locations have. The best I have in there is a steam room, which is nice for sure.
      And yeah, the rent is pretty brutal but the terrace IS nice. I can’t deny that. We don’t use it as much as we should.
      The subway does have a monthly pass, but it works out to be basically what I spend every month, so I don’t use it 😂 I think it’s a little cheaper than a car when factoring in all of the associated costs like gas and insurance as you noted.
      I’m lowkey jealous that you’re out in Ohio. You like it?
      And THANK YOU for the pod shoutout… I’ll have a video out this week discussing more about it 🤝🏻 it’ll be on apple music and spotify, as well as all episodes uploaded with video here on YT.

  • @daysandwords
    @daysandwords Před 26 dny +1

    Wow... Sydney famously has some of the most expensive real estate in the world but I think that's because when they take the cost of different cities, they lump all of "New York" together, which probably includes a lot of cheaper regions, and thus doesn't reflect Manhattan... Because yeah, that's expensive.
    Although, by not owning a car you're doing better. Cars are a necessity in a lot of Australia, and they are crazy expensive to run - like $400 AU a month just in tax, basically.

    • @ForeverForwardPod
      @ForeverForwardPod  Před 26 dny

      Yes, I bet it includes other areas of the city that are fairly affordable compared to proper Manhattan. And you do raise a good point on the car side of things - I’m SHOCKED that you have to pay that much in monthly taxes to own a car. I wonder if AU is trying to reduce the number of cars on the road…
