- Never go wheeling alone, probably the most widely given advice through out the offroad community. yet in this episode we find ourselves alone and facing challenges from broken parts, extreme off camber shelf roads, and deep mud holes. We set out on Italian Creek / Reno divide thinking it would be a nice moderate trail to connect us over to our campsite for the night. It quickly turned into nothing but trials after trials as Samantha and I struggle to even make it through the route. This was our Worst Trip Ever!

Oh dang! I ran this trail solo 13 years or so ago in my old 3rd Gen 4Runner, and felt over my head as well. Camping way up there was so cool though since it was just no one else out after dark. Glad y'all made it back OK though and have some stories to tell.
The camping here is prime! We loved it.
Tough luck for you guys. Glad you made it okay. The reason the trail has the rating is because of the Upper Italian Creek part of the trail, which is no joke. What you guys ran, we do the loop every year and it seems the trail has gotten rougher over time. Otherwise, I would rate it a 5 at most. Headed up to tackle it again next week. Going prepared for anything is a great lesson.
Thanks for watching and that's great trail insight. We plan to be back this year as well
Enjoyed the video alone is ok if your confident ..
Thank you!
the fluid looks mighty black, time for a flush no matter what.
Thanks for the tip! I'll probably knock that out this weekend while I got her in the garage and see if it helps.
Lol i go alone 99% of the time
This is the first time in years we've ever gotten into a situation we couldn't get out of. I think the advice should be "never go wheeling uninformed". We now have learned about what land anchors are lol.
@@719LostInpine i have the same issue as you in finding reliable people to go out with, but these days with gps systems and all the emergency call systems, going alone has gotten a lot safer
Oh 100%, we were not super worried about getting help when the brakes began to fail due to our solar set up as well. We use our phone to record and it drains battery fast, but having the ability to keep it on if things took a turn for the worst was awesome. It wasnt until the Jeep began to roll in the mud that we got worried because it was a time clock at that point.
