Nope. I'm generally not a fan of virtual sticks, but I have no issues with flying the Tello with my phone. It's because no matter where you place your thumbs the app picks it up. So you don't have to hit a specific spot. Makes a huge difference.
Sounds like it may be something with your phone....I've never heard this. Is it an older phone? The Tello doesn't have time lapse so something is going on with the frame rate. Try turning bluetooth off on your phone when flying.

I had two questions about this drone. Can it be used with whichever phone because I know there are drones that require your phone to be a certain kind. Also, since it has brushed motors, how long does it last without the motors wearing out and no longer being functional to use?
As long as it's not something super dated it should work fine, but I can't confirm which phones won't work. I was using an iPhone 6s Plus and it worked, but newer phones will give you a smoother video feed. My Tello still has the original motors. The key to not burning out brushed motors prematurely is to not fly back-to-back flights. Let the motors cool down for at least 5-minutes between flights.
Do you use WiFi extender and in the same time the remote controller or do you confirm it is not recommended because of networks issues ? Thanks in advance

Did you use the WiFi range extender this time? I saw a video from you (from 2018 I think) when you recomended one to to reduce video lag and frame skipping
Nope, didn't need it. The best thing you can do is turn on airplane mode or just turn off bluetooth. Turns out it affects the video quality something awful. The repeater definitely helps as well by boosting the WiFi signal.
Yep, any quad this size and with brushed motors will struggle in the wind. However, I have found that once the stabilization kicks in the Tello actually holds its position extremely well. Just don't go putting up a hundred feet in the air on a windy day. Kiss that bird goodbye.
@@GadgetInspector Hi from Australia, I'm using iPad Air 3 to fly Tello. If Aeroplane Mode is turned on, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections are turned off, therefore cannot connect to Tello! Just turn off Bluetooth, it's only needed when using a controller.
I just got this drone like a week ago. combo with controller. i cant figure out how to update the firmware and im afraid to fly it higher than 5 feet and more than 15 feet away. can you help me?
I believe the app will prompt you to update the firmware. If it doesn't provide something to click, go into the settings, click More, then click on the icon with 3 dots. You'll see Firmware Version....click Update. The only way to get better with flying is to practice, so you'll just have to keep putting it in the air. It's probably best to keep it low like you have been until you get the hang of it.

I've been looking at that one and seen some good things. Xiaomi usually puts out solid drones. That price point isn't bad at all for a mid-tier 4K drone.
I appreciate your video my dude. I do however disagree with the stability of the video. I think that the spark or mini would be a better drone for beginners. The latter being my first choice. There are too many limitations with positioning with the tello. I think beginners will fair better with being able to control the gimbal. Save up a few more weeks and get the mavic mini.
It's all good MrG, I never expect everybody to agree with me...that would be insane. I started flying on a little micro quad just around the house. You could fit it in the palm of your hand. I must've had 4-5 other toy grade quads before I even sniffed an advanced drone. I crashed a ton, but right now I believe I can fly with the best of them without any assistance from the drone: czcams.com/video/bHt0tVQ_wF0/video.html. Just straight up throttle, pitch and roll control. Can't tell you how many times I've been contacted about a drone "flying away" or "getting caught in a tree" or crashed into this or that. It happens to the best of us, but I think most folk are better off starting small and working their way up. Thanks for chiming in and watching....I appreciate it for real!
So, u like gadgets? I got a recemendation for u. It's $100 and really fun ( it seems to be in the videos I watched) the only problem is my parents won't let me get it. Gadget Inspector I must be doing something wrong
Turn airplane mode on. Bluetooth interferes with the video something serious. Makes it all choppy and pixelated.
I just got this drone like a week ago. combo with controller. i cant figure out how to update the firmware and im afraid to fly it higher than 5 feet and more than 15 feet away. can you help me?
i cant really control it
I believe the app will prompt you to update the firmware.
Just keep practicing and it'll start to click.
@@GadgetInspector this is supposed to be one of the best beginner drones and I can't figure out how to fly it. At all. If you can help me then can you tell me who can, please?
Tello fpv and Tellome make it much better
Agreed.
This will be my first drone :)
Awesome, this is a great first drone. Have fun.
Another cool video! Thanks! Can you recommend a free video/ photo editing app for iOS?? Thanks!
This one is called Snapseed. I can't remember if it's free, but it's really good: czcams.com/video/QjlFHXafic4/video.html
@@GadgetInspector I’ll check it out! Thank you! I’ve been looking for a wifi repeater since the one everyone is using is almost impossible to find. What do you think about the TUOSHI WiFi Repeater 2??
Did you have to replace any parts?
Nope, all original.
@@GadgetInspector Ok, thanks
great little bird . . . how much does it weight?
Hey James.....it's like 80 grams or something crazy like that. Might be a little heavier with the prop guards on. You bring up a good point as well....no registration for this one.
@@GadgetInspector I think imma buy it . . . i have a need for it. 720mp is good enough for B-roll and filler footage.
@@JamesSimmons1964 yes in good light👍🏾👍🏾
Hey, what headphones you wearing in this?
They're bone conduction headphones called Aftershokz Aeropex. I use these things every single day. Here's my review video: czcams.com/video/Jc0oIYZKFnA/video.html.
@@GadgetInspector awesome! I thought it was them. Thank you
coomo haces que el dron te siga en lateral ? jajaja yo lo tengo dos años i eso no se como se hace
I'm using this app: czcams.com/video/_p7GH6ZTLVY/video.html
Great video! However, I need OcuSync 2.0. lol. My Mavic Air 2 arrives Monday!
Have fun!
Bought one this year am I wrong taking this over Dji mini
Can't really compare the two, but if you just want more of a toy with good quality, the Tello is the way to go.
Anything comparable or better than the Tello lately? Thank you!
Not that I've seen. Still one of my favorite little quads.
@@GadgetInspector
I’m about to place my order then!! Thanks 👍🏾
Great channel I will share liberally stay safe
Thanks for stopping by Lamont. I appreciate those shares my friend. Safety and health to you and yours.
Just ordered a TELLO 2 days ago 😁
Awesome, hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
Hey gadget inspector check out the fimi x8 se 2020 version, I had to pre order one when I seen it, I got it for 391$ from banggood the 2018 version is selling for upwards of 700-1200$ on Newegg lol so yea when I seen that price I jumped on it lol says 8km range
I've been looking at that one and seen some good things. Xiaomi usually puts out solid drones. That price point isn't bad at all for a mid-tier 4K drone.
@@GadgetInspector only problem is I had to preorder and got to wait entire month to get it so many people ordering it lol
I thought the Tello was going to get 'goosed' there for a moment. That's a neat pop up of you reminding us to give a thumbs up (which I did)!
Clever 😉😂. Thanks for the like.
I got a Tello....same week..."i need a DJI Matrice..."
Exactly 😂😂
Do you ever have problems wid your drone
Nope, nothing I can think of.
So, u like gadgets? I got a recemendation for u. It's $100 and really fun ( it seems to be in the videos I watched) the only problem is my parents won't let me get it. So, 2 words, Pyro Mint.( AKA a wrist mounted fireball shooter) but u said you like drone's so maybe not for u. Oh and thanks for the heads up on that dji drone, I'm looking forward to getting one.
I meant Pyro minni
How do I get it to follow me
czcams.com/video/_p7GH6ZTLVY/video.html
a link to the app is in the description box. I walk through it in this video.
Thanks a ton
I meant Pyro minni
Very neat toy, but sadly the quality of that footage looks terrible and would take a lifetime of post processing to correct.
*i need KK Blowin*
😆😆😆😆😆
hehehehe
I love drones since childhood, whenever I see drones, I cry a lot, I miss drones, I wish I had drones too
I belong to full family so I don't have a drone I asked a lot of people for a drone but nobody gave me a drone
can you give me a drone please I'm begging youyou give me a drone please i will not forget your lifelong favor
I lost my tello cause the Wind was so fast 😥
Try not to fly the small guys too high. It takes very little wind to catch them. I try not to go any higher than 50 feet and that's rare.
@@GadgetInspector I will not fly my next tello with high wind I don't want to löst another
can you donate your tello on me?☺️☺️🙏🙏🙏
He only made this video so he could spy on those geese and you can't change my mind.
You found me out! Dang it!
