- I've been itching to get this year's video series booted up, and here we finally are. First up I get my hands on a new trail building tool, then set out to build the tightest section of trail I can that still rides with some sort of flow. It's part of a larger trail project that will link in a load of fun features.
I hope you enjoy.

Hi Joe! Great vid! Can I ask you what shock you're running on the rear of that Five? I've just bought a 2020 Five (RS) and I'm running the stock RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate 210x55 at the moment. I've read that coil shocks might suit this bike better(?). I'm mainly doing light trail and I'm around 85kg. Thanks!
Where are hem hazzard hats at!? Send one to Canada please!!
you make beautyfull videos
Thanks a lot
joooo
braw
comon!! after years years of seeing you ride I don't see much improvement, no jumps? where's the big senders????
RIP that SSSI. Seriously, you seem like a nice guy, but FFS think about the ecology of what you are digging up.
Hate those kind of mountain bikers, the only thing that matters is riding. (I do mtb also)
@@totoxahc I don't hate this guy, I just wish people would appreciate delicate woodland habitats aren't just 'loam' for them to pollute with the plastic off their tyres. As well as the damage to the habitat it's destroying woodland plants, hibernating insects etc.
Fair point, everyone has there own standpoint on how we should protect the environment. From my side the trial network I ride, along with many others are all hand built narrow trails that grass in around them and leave a pathway of very minimal ecological damage. Compare this to a trail centre or bike parks and it’s a whole different level there. I’m not sure it’s a SSSI but it is a beauty of a strip of trees and long may they remain there. It’s only tyre marks that stop these trails from grassing over and being lost back to nature.
@@joebarnes_hazzardracing2913 it's ancient woodland for sure. You can check whether it's a SSSI, but you are causing damage to important habitat. Not everything that's important is a SSSI. Trail centres are very often in forestry commission/ farmed woodland, and are sacrificial, drawing people away from the sensitive stuff. Digging up the ground around the trees causes damage to root systems. I have seen two trees in the local nature reserve which have been killed by bikers digging them up. I saw another of your videos where you had dug a trench through a patch of bluebells.. I saw some guys doing the same thing on Kinver Edge the other day, which is notified for rare insects, amongst other things. Be really honest - everyone with a trail bike does this and the country is being environmentally degraded.
@@osbike7805 ok; so I don't hate your bike. 1. Micro plastics from tyres are a big problem. friendsoftheearth.uk/sustainable-living/tyres-and-microplastics-time-reinvent-wheel 2. Digging up ancient woodland is more damaging than walking an established path, for various reasons, mainly to do with disturbing plants and animals, but also causing erosion. 3. Don't get sad because someone has views which contradict your world view, particularly when that person is speaking from a position of friendly advice based on a settled professional understanding of the subject.
boy, where is your respect and responsibilty for the woods? Go to the bikepark or use official trails.
Joe's toes are connected to the mycelial network, don't you know? He IS the forest! How'd you think he can ride through it so fast?!
