Hello Andrea ~ great timing ! I finally gave in to putting “Christmas Greenery” away this week ! LOL!!! With the beautiful snow storms we have been getting, I wanted my pine out for COZINESS! True New Englander right ? 🤷‍♀️
But today, I got my bins out with all my white Real Touch Tulips, my snowdrops with bulbs, my Paper-whites with bulbs and white Grape Hyacinth with bulbs. Being in snow country I try to bring what will BLOOM FIRST ! LOL!!! Then soon the Lilac….DELICIOUS LILAC… nothing compares to the real ones and their smell! You can smell them just saying the word 💜 💜
Great tips you gave for people to follow. I find myself doing those tips in the Stores with stems….😬. But need to see if they are a good fit for my arrangements.
Afloral and House by JSD Designs is where I get a lot of mine. They last for years , so worth the money for me ( and they still have plenty of life left in them when I pass them on to my daughters and now granddaughters … daughters love shopping at Mom’s Storage Room…😂)
    Have a blessed week ! 💛💛💛💛

These are fantastic tips. I especially love the simplicity of just one type of floral mixed with greens. It has a very organic, non contrived look that to me is not only very “European style” but something that looks even moreso natural/real.

Hallo from Australia......Yes indeed if you want your flowers to have that WOW factor spend some more money and with the right storage they will last for years. I do flowers for the Church and not long ago spent $250. on buying 25 Daliahs ...(my favourite) When I place them in vases it is quite a show.I still have flowers from 7years ago that are as beautifull as the day I purchased them, so in the long run great economy. Also great for Christmas presents, Birthdays etc., Thanks for vidio. Love your Baby....fast asleep...Happy New Year.Best Wishes.

I followed the sales cycles at the stores and would go buy as many as were in stock until I had enough. Lol

I love white flowers after Christmas. I had my white amaryllis, unfortunately my paperwhites didn’t perform so well.
I also have fake white flowers on long branches, which I have for many years. You are right, investing in good guality fake flowers it’s beautiful it’s really smart investment.
I just cut some branches of forsythia and will bloom in few days, and give me some early start for spring.

In Australia where almost every second tree is an eucalyptus tree, we also have these lovely trees and bushes called 'Wattle'. Its famous for being a bright yellow gold colour but it comes in a beautiful whimsical white tree. Its flowers are small white puffs of pollen and when you made that floral arrangement with what must have been a baby's breath, with the seeded eucalyptus, it looked so much like a native floral arrangement I made over in our Spring (your Fall season) last year.
I still have real dried eucalyptus leaves that still look amazing and they have been on display for over 3 years. The eucalyptus oil allows the foliage to keep for so long as you keep it in a cool dry area.
I adore your videos and next month I am moving to a 20 acre farm. Im renovating a small old farmhouse cottage, which I plan to plant a whimsy cottage around, and have a few ducks, some more chickens and grow my own food as well as have a dedicated flower garden for drying or fresh picked flowers.
But in the meantime, I will be needing my artificial flowers, as there isn't that much on the property so its going to take a while to get up and running.

Hi Andrea! I came back to rewatch this video because I'm actually going to be doing some floral arranging for Fall and I remembered how much I appreciated this video back in the Spring. One tip that I heard LizMarie Galvan recently try was if you have a faux floral (in her case she had purchased some leaves on Amazon and they had a shine on them she didn't like) she sprayed Matte clear Rustoleum on them and it worked great. I'm actually going to try it with some leaves on a branch that I bought. So if anyone has some florals like that they can easily upgrade them by spraying them down, letting them dry and then respraying if they feel the need to do that.

I've gotten several dozen tulips from Amazon--they are beautiful. I have a tip to add: if you mingle some real plants in to your home, your faux flowers and greenery will more likely seem "real", too. I have several house plants as well as a large bay laurel that I like to trim stems from and then place them in a vase with water. I enjoy the greenery for a month or more while the stems slowly dry--and then I pick off the leaves and store them --bay leaves for all my soups, stews, and roasts!

Im a flower arranger and one great way is mixing fresh/dried flowers or greenery with the artificial ones. Fresh babies breath or eucalyptus mixed in can trick the eye to believing it’s real, added benefit to those is they will dry so you can keep using them😉
Also adding water to clear vases tricks the eye (or acrylic water)

But I totally agree when I bring them home I open them up and give them bands where they need to look very natural in the vessel as well as the clear vessel you cut all the way down so it doesn’t have that ugly look ha ha but thank you once again your home is always beautiful and your flowers so cottage like can’t wait to see your outdoors when everything starts Blooming. I recently bought a bundle of white ones...but they almost seem to stark white...I keep wondering if I could dye them with tea or something to make them slightly creamer??? Have you tried this? I might have to try it with one stem and see how it goes!😥😂

Do you clip the stems short to put them in a bowl?🌿🌿

Depends, if the bowl isn't clear and hides the stems, I may leave them long in case I decide to use them again in a taller vase 😊

I agree tulips at Amazon are so beautiful. It's real touch. But don't buy white or cream it will turn yellow after a few months .

because I love my white flowers! The pink ones still look good though!

I had bought some fake iris that looked real. I put them in the ground to take photos and some friends grandkids came over and they ran to the iris and the gr parents yelled at them because I thought they were going to ruin my beautiful Iris LOL! When I told them that they weren't real they couldn't believe it they did look so real

I have faux flowers and plants all over my house . I love real plants but I have lost my green thumb. Plus you don't have to water the faux plants or if they get knocked over no clean up dirt. 😂

Andrea I know that you like fresh flowers and greenery and I do understand why you don't use them, especially in winter. That said, I make it a source of pride not to have faux stems. I have over 30 real plants in my house, in various sizes. Some big ones sit on the floor, others on tables and window ledges, throughout all the rooms. Orchids and violets bloom, others stay green. Most need nothing more than a weekly watering and some fertilizer in the growing season. I'd estimate that plant care takes about 20 minutes a week. Watching a plant grow is such a joy compared to faux stems that do nothing. I also have evergreens in my garden and I trim them during the winter and bring branches inside. Your tips to display faux stems are good ones, but I would encourage your viewers to add real plants to their decor. Often a real plant will be cheaper to purchase than the faux ones and nurturing them and seeing them thrive is a great reward. They also help purify the air within the house.

Thank you Mary! My sister has a lot of real plants as well and she loves the variety they bring to her home, I love to have real stems when I can as well 😊

I can only decorate with fake flowers because my cat loves to eat flowers. She never get on table, cabinets or counter tops but if you put real flowers out she will want to jump on them to eat flowers.

Andrea, I love your channel, and your syle lines up with the same likes in my own home. I have a suggestion, and I promise I mean this in a caring way, it is often distracting for Isaiah to be on your chest for every video, especially when he isn't quiet like he is today. Keep in mind that I'm a grandmother of three beautiful girls and my age alone, 72, may tip you off that I'm not up on the latest trends in child-rearing. First of all, I'd like to know if you carry him on your chest 24/7. The bouncing, the shhhhh-shing, and the patting can be very distracting at times. While I love seeing your children and hearing their sweet voices, perhaps you could rethink carrying Isaiah swaddled on your chest for every video. If I am wrong about this, I stand corrected, but perhaps others feel the same way and were just too shy to mention it. I enjoyed today's video about incorporating faux flowers into our decors. Two of yours are my favorites. I've always loved the basket of flowers on the closet door at your entryway, and especially love the tiered tray of baskets your mom found at a sale. Keep creating and keep posting. Your floors turned out beautifully.
