It's kind of amusing that even though Australians have loved and supported Eurovision en masse for over 30 years, the one time we get invited as a guest entry as a bit of fun for the 60th Anniversary of the competition, people are complaining. Aussies don't expect to win; we're just super excited to be there at all.
Ja čuo samo ovu... da mi ostale budu iznenađenje ;) znam da mi je naša bila njesra. Mada... možda i za nijansu bolja od pre. Što mi ne pravimo ovakve pesme? :(
Natty Brown Awww, of course we want you here with us Australia! Welcome to the Eurovision song contest family. ;) And wow, this song is awesome!! Good luck hugs from Sweden
Idah Sanderson Thank you Idah :) I also loved Guy's song but my other favourite was definitely Sweden's. A well deserved win ... congratulations! We are so thrilled that Guy came 5th in such a big competition as Eurovision and I think it's awesome we were invited to compete :)
Best live performance on Eurovision. Not a single vocal line missed, great stage presence. Can't wait for this song to take Europe by storm, it will most definitely make it to the radio here in the Netherlands.
1. Australia are GUESTS of Eurovision for its special 60th Anniversary event. Australia has been supporting and broadcasting Eurovision for over 30years. So please be kind - we are so excited to be in it! 2. Guy is NOT a Bruno Mars wannabee - he has been at the top of Australia's music scene since 2003 and recorded before that. Check his hundreds of youtube videos from 2003 and you will see the depth of his songwriting and vocal talent.
I absolutely love the song and I know that Guy Sebastian is huge in Australia, but I still don't understand why Australia is competing. They are the furthest continent from Europe. I'm just interested to see how well it does
Jack O Donovan it's because of the support of the Australian broadcaster to Eurovision that it has become popular in Australia...they're just giving in return...also, it's the 60th anniversary...
Guy is a real international popstar. Artistically he is the best that Eurovision has got this year when it comes to a real artist with a real career. We have to thank Australia that is joining in and brining a real gem to the table and that is taking Eurovision so seriously.
omg...YES R&B! I knew there was something missing in eurovision all these years! This is why I like Australia to participate! And I wouldnt mind AT ALL if they won! Good job Australia! I hope you kick some butts this year and welcome some countries to the 21. century! But then again... there is no hope no more for some countries :P
When I heard this song for the first time, I was sure, Guy Sebastian would win the contest. Today it is still my favourite ESC song! Peaked at #44 here in Germany.
I love this song. Hope Guy Sebastian will win so you Aussies will definitely be with us again next year:) So refreshing! Good luck !!! Love from Finland
Aussie gal here! I'm SO happy with this song choice, it really encompasses what Guy's music is all about - funk, soul and pop. It also showcases his gorgeous voice. I very much doubt we will win (imagine the outrage haha) but it would be awesome to make the Top 10. Good luck, Guy, Australia is behind you, and hopefully some parts of Europe as well :P
Scott Harfield You are right! If Australia win and the broadcaster will co host with a full member of the EBU and in a European city. Who knows if this song wins we could have the Eurovision Song Contest in the UK via the back door!
Scott Harfield I guess this has to do also with budget. Flying the entire Eurovision production to Australia is a different story. But who knows what will happen if Australia wins and what the public will say following that. We might be surprised ;-) Anyway, I've been to Sydney and it's a beautiful place ;-)
Public Service Announcement to everyone who is asking "Why is Australia in the conest?" or "What in the world are they doing here?" Australia is an associate member of the EBU. Since it has been broadcasting ESC for 30+years and it has a strong following, the EBU have given Australia a ONCE OFF invitation to the contest to join in the 60 year celebration. George Frost What city have they chosen to host it next year? Yes i believe it will win, hence I ask the question. You guys are so lucky to have a great singer ... Europe is in love with this song.
In typical Australian fashion, we don't really think that far ahead! IMHO, they should host it in London so the Brits can stop complaining that they will never host the contest again ;)
You should check out some of his older stuff from 2004 :) Elevator Love is awesome. He won Aus Idol in 2003 (the audition is PERFECT) but he's come a long way since then. Lots of persistence and hard work! :)
Endri Sulaj He is amazing. And has grown so much since Idol. His voice back then was great, but now it is absolutely stunning. He blows me away everytime I see him live, and being Australian I have been able to do that many times.
To my mind, Australia brings smth new, smth modern, smth bright to the Eurovision Song Contest. This song's benefit is that it makes to think more positive, to be on the bright side, yeap it's funny :) I like this song and without doubts it'll be in the Final and maybe on the top-songs. Australia good luck!!! We are very happy that you have joined♡♡♡ With love from Russia!!!
***** I read the same thing. It was something like "because Germany is in the heart of Europe it would be a rational place to have the contest" And I don't think it would be a bad idea. Germans do know how to arrange a great party x) But I'm pretty sure Australia won't win. Top10 perhaps :)
***** the beeb would probably kick up a massive stink about it, since I believe the UK is technically the backup place to host if no one else can. That said, I'd be surprised if Spain or France didn't complain, since the any one of the big five would want to host it.
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! This is great. It's fun, it represents Australia positively, it is musically appealing, it has the potential for a great stage performance, it has a groove, this Guy's voice is great (or at least once can listen to it without getting too annoyed), it is easy to listen to, and it is just all around enjoyable. So far, this may have the best chance of getting in at least the top five even if it doesn't win. Good luck, Oz! This American is rooting for you!
Amazing talent. Amazing voice. Amazing presence. I couldn't stop dancing in my seat. I replayed it many times in the space of 30 minutes! A song that is a sure winner! I would definitely download it from iTunes when it becomes available. Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oy! Oy! Oy! You go Guy and show them how it's done!
It's not going to win! Even if it was a smash worldwide hit (it's not) a non-European country won't get enough support in the voting. No need to mention it's a one-time appearance as a guest. Maybe in your dreams...
Thank you Eurovision for the invite to take part this years contest. 'Building Bridges' Guy Sebastian will proudly represent Australia. This video is one thing....wait till you see him perform 'live' in a big on stage production. It'll knock your socks off. Go Guy!
Good luck to Australia in their first time in Eurovision. I hope you guys do well in the competition and the song is good! I wish you guys can be invited again. It's so much fun have different countries in the competition!
I'm laughing at all the "why is Australia in EUROvision???" comments. You do realise that countries like Morocco can participate in Eurovision whenever they wish, but haven't intended to since after 1980. And where is Morocco, everybody? That's right, in North Africa. Eligibility to participate is not determined by geographic inclusion within the continent, despite the Euro bit in Eurovision. So calm down please and just enjoy the music, regardless of country lmfao
And Israel has been in it for ages, Azerbaijan is on the Asian continent as well as Junior Eurovision competitor Kazakhstan - who will likely join ESC at some point too
What Australia can bank on is that Guy can perform VERY WELL!! He is very good live singer. Also, at the moment, it seems alot of people like this song so people might consider voting for it.
F.Y.I - Israel was a contestant and that is in the MIDDLEEAST !!! Who are you kidding Eurovision. Australia is a mini WORLD - we have many europeans here and we been watching for over 30years !! Enough said....Guy Sebastian my love...YOU KILLED IT !!!! Thank you!
Well done Guy for last minute writing a fun and great song. This shows how talented u are and u deserve to be well known not only in Australia but to the rest of the world! :)
Australia may be in the contest every year! :) I would love that! At first I really didn't like the idea of them in Eurovision but now I absolutely love it xx Good luck Australiaaaa!
Welcome to ESC Australia ;) this song is catchy! Might as well win, the only thing in its way is that is sounds like something you can hear on the radio everyday. It is not a very unique song. I actually expected more from your entry, but good luck!
No ESC entry I've heard so far comes close to the calibre of Guy's song. And with the argument of originality, the songs I have heard are either a cliche pop song or power ballad! Have you listened to Sweden's entry? This song has personality, it's fun and the production side of things is leagues above; I prefer quality over originality any day.
Josh M Yes I am from Sweden and our song is VERY unoriginal as well! But have you listened to Italys entry? Or Spains? Those songs stand out as unique in my opinion. I am sorry to say, Australias entry do not stand out as unique. I think this song will get many votes though because it is from Australia and because the singer is very talented. Perhaps this song will win! A lot of people like this sort of music!
Bernhardina you're so right!! It's something you can hear no the radio everyday and it's not original and something special.. too bad :) But i know it will be on a high place.. :)
Australia did so very well! They're first time in the ESC and they deliver a masterpice. And their final score wasn't that bad. Thank you Australia!!!!! Greetings from Denmark
Totally going to vote for this. The idea of a country so far from Europe hosting Eurovision is just hillarious, and it would be pretty cool if Australia permanently started competing. Catchy song too.
Guy Sebastian is one of the judges in Xfactor Australia, I liked when he gave Shiane Hawk a touch down 3 years ago, and she was only 14. Good Luck to Australia from Israel
Great you have changed your mind. And wait till you see him perform it live. He is an absolutely incredible singer. Whatever the outcome he will do Australia proud.
Natty Brown Yes! Everyone says that he is a great singer so I don't think I will be disappointed. And absolutely, I think he will do Australia very proud ;)
***** I agree. And he has so many facets to his voice. He can caress a song, or belt it out and his voice sounds magic no matter what. It it funny to read critical reviews for his concerts and albums from certain music writers here in Australia who dislike his music. They never fault the voice. They sometimes pan the music, but in the same review will use words like "epic" "stunning" "faultless" when describing the voice.
Although I'm from the U.K I'm really rooting for Australia. I'm glad that Australia is finally getting the chance to compete, it will be good to see a new country bring a fresh song to the competition. It's been getting a little boring with the same countries and the same old songs. So, good luck to Australia! Please win!
Very proud of our Aussie Guy - song written in only 3 days!! For those who are asking, not only is Eurovision Song Contest HUGE in Australia - but our televising network has paid for half of putting ESC on this year. Welcome to Us - so excited!!! If we win (not likely - song not weird enough) then we would host with another country (maybe the second place country) in Europe. Plus our Head of State is STILL Britain's Queen so probably it would be in England. We will be getting up at 2am every morning (or staying in the pub all night) to watch ESC... :)
This one and Belgium got my votes this year. They'll play this one everywhere in Sweden (and probably everywhere else as well) this summer for sure. It's such a feel good song!
Another classic song from Guy Sebastian!! So amazing :D :D Im from Australia and i think he did a GREAT representation of Australia in the world of music!! Keep up the great work Sebastian!!!
LadyVixey1099 Gaming Sorry that I disliked but He still didn't deserve to win. The four who were before him deserved there positions. In my opinion Slovenia should have one but Sweeden was still Fantabulous !
7 years later and this is still Australia’s best ever Eurovision song (In my Opinion)
2015 was a great year for eurovision in general
dami im was the best and it isnt just australia's best it is eurovision's the best
@@gramofontaine Dami's song is overrated in my opinion.
Best Evel! From Spain remembering him, a beastttt!

GREATEST DEBUT TO EUROVISION IN MY OPINION!
Poland and Serbia had better...
Can't disagree tbh
im australian but that award goes to serbia

Welcome to Eurovision Song Contest, Australia! We're happy to have you!
Thank you. It is nice to see so many welcoming comments from Europe. I was worried no-one would want us.
Natty Brown Trust me, the UK are thrilled to see Australia as it is likely we might actually get some points off you :D
Natty Brown I'm from Spain and I'm so happy to have you in the contest ;) Welcome!!
Angelica Labermo Thanks! We appreciate it!
Natty Brown Awww, of course we want you here with us Australia! Welcome to the Eurovision song contest family. ;) And wow, this song is awesome!!
Good luck hugs from Sweden
This song was my favorite of the night, I wouldn't have minded if it won! (And that's saying something since I'm from Sweden)
As an Australian, I really appreciate this! Well done to Sweden :)

Wow I didn't have a clue it was an Eurovision song!
Here in Israel it's heard on the Radio stations a lot
This was a good year for Eurovision music, if I had a radio station this would certainly be in rotation, along with a lot of other great tunes.

You have a very, very big chance to win !! I liked the guy's singing style!
Israel really loved the song !! Great final success !!!
I really like this song, and yeah, tonight's so good!
Greetings from Lithuania! :)
This song is great. What a debut Australia will have!
Thank you Australia for not entering a boring slow ballad.
I think Ireland and Britain will definitely be sending points your way.
Good Luck !!!
Sig Sauer We'll probably be sending a few their way too!!!!
Well done Guy! Wild card entry and Australia was no 5 in 2015 Eurovision Song Contest. I watched it Live. Great work!!
His performance at Eurovision was Outstanding, he did Australia very proud.
Please invite Australia every year! His song's way better than most of the other entries this year and they're so enthusiastic
I have changed my mind about this song, I actually love it! I hope you will participate again in the future. Good luck from Sweden dear Aussies 💙💛
***** thankyou :)
***** And btw I have seen a lot of people compare him to Bruno Mars, but I think Guy has a lot more powerful voice to be honest...
OMG What a beautiful voice, song, attitude!!!! You had to win (or go to the second position) the Eurovision Contest! Congratulations from Italy!
Best Eurovision song ever!
Excellent voice!! 12 points from Spain! ;-)
That awkward moment when Australian entry is better than 95% of other songs. :)
Fantastic song!
Can't get over the fact that this song was in the top 5 with Italy!! Mind blown!
Too bad that song didn't win. It was funky, had great vocals and a catchy tune, much better than most entries had.
Well, that's a song you like after listening to it once. Rare thing in Eurovision these days) Great choice!
Although I'm from the U.K I'm really rooting for Australia. I'm glad that Australia is finally getting the chance to compete, it will be good to see a new country bring a fresh song to the competition. It's been getting a little boring with the same countries and the same old songs. So, good luck to Australia! Please win!
Aww thanks. I don't think that is likely given the voting system but I am sure Guy will try his best.
Don't say rooting to an Australian its slang for sex here!!
omg this was so good
People keep saying this country is not even in Europe...can you just appreciate this AMAZING song?
Amazing song!!!!! 12 points from Armenia!!!!!!!
dressageau "song isn't weird enough"
Nice save lol... Very wrong too though
This is my favorite song of the year at the Eurovision Song Contest (y) :D Good luck Guy from Bosnia :D
This one and Belgium got my votes this year. They'll play this one everywhere in Sweden (and probably everywhere else as well) this summer for sure. It's such a feel good song!
Awesome arrangement! And the meaning! And vocal, of course! Ukraine is with you, Guy! You're incredible! Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oy! Oy! Oy!
That's a great song you have here, Australia! Definitely among my favorites for the win in the finals (along with Italy and Estonia).
Blooming FancySun :T
THIS IS THE WINNING SONG!!!!!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK FROM MALTA :) XXXXI will only be watching the Eurovision just because of HIM and HIS SONG
