I found best use of staff of fracturing is when aimed directly at the enemy. Kind of a shotgun
ive found silver arrows works reaaallly well with the mistlands bow as it stack its spirit damage onto the skeletons in ashlands, ive got alot of silver laying around aswell so its a win win. that magic shotgun is really awesome and it fits the theme of dvergers and the mythic norse theme valheim is set in. btw i think the askvin mob head is dropping alot more than i think it should atm, nearly every one ive killed has dropped one so i guess get em now before it changed
Try landing multiple direct hits with the staff of fracturing it stacks its burn damaged and landing repeated hits increases the damage. Again, i like your videos, but you seem to miss some things i understand the desire and need to get the videos out there but i feel just 30mins more of testing with the equipment you would noticed the nuances of the weapons.. like the new lightning mace working better on misty mornings with increased chain lightning. Or the bow seeming to proc the vines more readily than the melee weapons .. or the fact you can use the troll staff to farm stone wood and ore with the huge metor damage. Using it on stone towers in the plains or in the dark forest or even drop it on a exposed silver vein . Makes mining easy 👌
well its more aguid eto preview magic stuff, i dont consider melee wepaons full on magic and you dont need eitr to use them so that will come in future video, fair play about the fractured staff tho!
@JadePGSurvival yea just re read my original post and it reads like im having a go at you It was not my intention .🙃 it was supposed to read like suggestion for future content and maybe even give you inspiration for other kinds of videos .. dundr is currently best staff for levelling magic. staff of fracturing in mistlnads caves is second way to keep levelling that up very fast.
Definitely underwhelming magic for this patch. Was hoping for so much more.

@@Jade-PGlike a ranged lightning or aoe poison, and something for survivability. Trees that don’t hit and a hard to stack dot when you’re getting wave after wave of the undead doesn’t really seem fitting.
I didn't mess with magic very much is mislands but might try some of that gear now, the frost staff looks pretty nice 🤷
I'm past underwhelmed...this feels like they're trying to PUNISH people for using magic. #1, you have to have about 13 "weapons" with you in addition to 3 foods and at least 2 meads. #2, the melee options are simply FAR superior in every way. If you have a normal melee loadout with Mistwalker? yeah, you wreck shit. My buddy I've been running around with kills just about everything in 2 or 3 swings while my "magic" takes about 20-30 seconds if I'm lucky. Then the running around and rolling all over the place.
Magic is pathetically underpowered. As mentioned in the video, the new saves barely even work. The root thing is slow and doesn't seem to actually do what it's intended to do, the fracturing staff LITERALLY doesn't do anything useful (better to use OG fire staff), and the other ones don't look great either from the video here. The amount of food you need to go through to keep your Eitr pool and regen at a useful level is insane. You can't let you food buffs wear down like at ALL, otherwise you won't have enough to even take care of a single enemy or maybe two.

Suggestions for fastest way to level elemental magic if waiting for patch to drop on regular branch? Same for blood magic. What lvl do you think would be minimum to actually attempt to use in ashlands as you enter?
if you spam the staff of the wild and stand inn the vines i can be helpful

The vines are extremely strong. You need to spam them and space them out, then kite enemies into the thick of them. Its the single strongest form of crowd control in the game and nothing remotely comes close. Your "test" where you spawn just one is laughable. "Maybe you can get 2 or 3 out"? Do you not use the 3 best mage foods when you're playing the mage? I regularly easily get at least 6 or 7 of them out before the first one dies back and then I just replace it with a new one. Honestly the vines are the strongest new weapon in the game and people who think they suck dont understand how to use them properly. You're supposed to fully commit to playing as the mage. Don't eat 1 magic food and 2 health foods. Of course the magic will seem underwhelming when you have no mana.
maybe check dates for videos before becoming a condescenig bore, this was right after launch before they went and listened to feedback and majorly buffed teh vines bozo

troll staff seems to be very strong in high density situations, Dundr is fine, although for ashlands ice staff seems to do a bit better.
I have a felling troll staff will be op in deep north.

I did not have enough refined eitr for upgrades and all the food needed playing magic so been farming mistlands again. That's what I would tell people not playing it yet to farm farm
Run a shotgun staff in heavy armor and play DOOM music :P
W video but these magic weapons are terrible. Like the troll staff and the staff of the wild need to be buffed. The vines should last for a minute each or longer, and the trolls shouldn’t be able to attack you. You’re already getting gang up by a ton of mobs in the game, it stupid to summon an enemy who can attack you
And the staff of fracturing and the dundr are so bad that they need to be replaced by superior weapons. Like the fracturing is literally the staff of embers but not nearly as good, you gain a little more damage but lose a TON of range. The dundr only does decent damage up close, but that’s so risky when you don’t have much defense as a mage, and it only hits one enemy. A lighting magic weapon should fire a massive bolt from the sky or something
Extremely disappointing, I have no idea what the devs were thinking. If they don’t buff the weapons I’m probably dropping valheim
