  • In today's video I'm going to be talking about my toxic home and why I still live with my parents at the age of 26. I'll also be talking about why you shouldn't feel ashamed or behind for living with your parents, as long as it's a positive environment!

    I’m 26 and I still live with my grandparents. I moved out my parents house at 18 and live with my grandparents for college and I know people who still live with their parents and their in their 20’s. People who look down on other for living with their relatives still are the worst kinds of people we don’t know what kind of situation people are in. We have people in their 30’s still living at home with their parents it’s okay! I just wish more people would understand and be more aware of other peoples situation.

      I totally agree! Everyone’s life and financial situation is different and anyone who looks down on or judges someone for living with their family is ignorant

      Thank you!! Sending positive vibes your way too 💕 I was hoping sharing this could help other people in similar situations. As frustrating as it is I always try to remind myself that everything is temporary. Someday we’ll be happy and looking back on this and thinking how far we’ve come 💗

      Of course! I’m quite literally in the same boat! I was in school for many years figuring it all out, changed my mind a lot; I lived with my parents starting out, and other family members at different times. It wasn’t until I started pursuing an opera degree, which is where everything went down hill. The rehearsal schedules were so detrimental to my finances and work schedule, I racked up credit card debt and even pulled out personal loans to get by and pay other debts, which I regret now. I went out to a desolate city last summer to work on a musical production and that’s when I realized I had to make a change and get back on my feet. Plus, the opera career field wouldn’t have been good for me financially as well…so I came back home and am working full time (also in insurance lol), and picking up all the pieces as best I can. The paradigm shift was the greatest gift I’ve ever received from myself. As much as it may suck (at times), I have to keep reminding myself that I only diminish my quality of life by comparing myself to others and living with shame. You’re doing great! 💗

      Thank you I wish you the best with your career and finances! 💗 and exactly constant comparison just ruins your happiness. It’s something I struggle with at times too but I always remind myself that we’re all on our own journeys and it’s okay if your timeline is different from someone else’s!

      Thank you I’m so glad you liked the video!! I think we often don’t give ourselves enough credit and you’re smarter than you think, it’s really all mindset and believing in yourself as corny as that sounds haha I hope you can achieve your dreams this year and have an amazing new year! :)

    If your mom wants to leave just have her divorce your dad. Then they either sell the house or you stay in the house and he leaves

    • @FORZION
      @FORZION Před rokem

      Also just enlist in the military to get out.

      Thanks for the advice but she can’t divorce him before we find a new place to live and move out. If she divorced while still living in the same house it would turn into a very violent and unsafe situation for us. Also if I wanted to leave on my own I wouldn’t need to enlist in the military. I could afford to move out on my own with roommates but I don’t because I am trying to help my mom and she can’t afford to move somewhere on her own. Just an unfortunate situation

      @@rose.carter then call the cops and get an order of protection. that will keep him out of the house and away from you and her. There are tons of resources for domestic violence for women in this situation.
