- In this one, I decided to visit a village in Gorakhpur to understand how a fellow citizen of India in election-bound Uttar Pradesh lives, thinks and aspires for. I spoke to locals to understand how much of the promises made by politicians actually translate into ground reality. Here's how my day went. Presenting the first video of UP Assembly Elections 2022 from Bagha Gara, Gorakhpur.

Totally loved Preeti's determination. Happy to see pen/pencil in her hand rather than a belan or a broom. GKP has changed undoubtedly but if we're talking facts, they're actually paying more than we do in cities. LPG is around 900, a 30 Litres of purified water only costs 10 rupees. Let alone the daily life utilities they're still more on the expenditure than us. Makes me wonder about the things we take for granted.

After watching this video I realised that people are happy with the Government, they know that Government is giving them every benefit. But the main problem is local level caste based discrimination, majority of the respondents of this video were against the Gram Pradhan of the village, who being a Yadav was blocking all schemes for the Nishads. I thank the Government for starting things like Direct Cash Benefit and others that has helped people directly avail the government schemes but still a lot of work needs to be done.

Thank you Samdish for showing the roots of our country. We always read in our class texts how a rural area functions but never got to experience it, this video shows a glimpse of it. We see that people in rural areas have also high aspirations just like any other person as shown by Preeti who wishes that she one day become a part of Civil Services and that her parents would never have to work again.
Also, we see that the last lady in the video was so keen on explaining the problems of her daily life to Samdish because she knows that these are the aspects of her life that should be taken care of by the Govt./Administration but are not.
Highly impressed with Preeti's straightforward, no-bullshit way of explaining things. Such clarity of thoughts and insightful opinions! I really wish her all the best and hope she excels in her career to reach greater heights one day; the Unfiltered team did a stupendous job again.

Being a girl who was born in a small district too, I would suggest 2 more areas of stories to cover in UP
1. Try covering the government aided small organisations such as Aanganwadis or Ration booths( a lot of people sell those bad quality of wheat & rice grains right next to those booths gaining a small amount of money through which they can buy some better quality of grains) etc.
2. Try to cover those college groups who go on workshops in villages explaining govt. Schemes such as MGNREGA through nukkad nataks etc.(It might add some help to their efforts atleast)

When money and power comes from front door, morality and ethics take the back door. So many IAS and IPS come with the same motto but end up becoming puppets of the ruling dispensation because of their lust for post and money. This video reminds me of my childhood days when I used to visit my village during summer vacations. I am surprised to see that after 25 years, people are still struggling with the same issue. Nothing has changed, not 1 per cent. I still have memories of government school getting flooded during the rainy season. I can totally relate to the problem of the people out there as I was amongst them. I can feel the pain and anger in their voices. They are not illiterate, they are one of 1000 victims of Indian politics who have gone through incalculable loss. Thanks to the entire team of @unfiltered by Samdish for this video. Love from the United Kingdom❤❤, you have made me emotional and thanks for reminding my childhood days.

@@alphaakshaydhama5834 Great thought Akshay! Giving back in whatever way would be an attempt to make a difference. However, any of our individual effort will be too little to make a significant change. Diverting the blame to politicians seems reasonable but even they are clueless as they lack strategy for upliftment and opt for easier subject which they use to connect people, sadly politicians lure people to follow them based on communal line . If i am running for an election, i wont be taking notes on local problem ; You may find me criticizing modi and attending iftaar party, easy. Any real identity change has to come from within which can only be done through investment in education. We can go back to build some talent in people, start some income generation system and call it as Entrepreneurship or Rozgaar or whatever. For a small scale, effective. But at a scale which we have in our vision, it will take time. We live in information age but sadly don't have a one-stop government portal which directly connects one with the government. Population is often termed as major reason for all our problems. Glad that as per projection we would be stable around 150cr before plunging a little. Future looks bright though, but far.
This is an outstanding work...something which has been missing from mainstream media...This gives a glimpse of what people go through specially to tje previliged people like us who live in a citu and are atleast born in a middle class family

Few suggestions Samdish:
1. You should come in non election states also to see whether the government machinery functions during non election years or not.
2. You should come to non Hindi areas also. The national media seems not to be so national as non Hindi states get very less coverage.
Your videos are seen by people in government, helps realise gaps in implementation.

But here after seeing, as you are covering in UP especially Gorakhpur. I would urge you if you may explore the situation of health system of Gorakhpur district. As you might be aware with JE is more prevalent in the particular region. And deaths of children occurring every year. Hope this untold story of JE can be unfiltered very well by you.

I am also from Gorakhpur, but you are only showing one side of story. You should also visit Gorakhpur city to show the development in the city, which is not as it was before Yogi ji tenure. He did lots of work for the development of city but on other side situation of villages of Gorakhpur not that much good.
